257 Chapter 257 Desmond Wants To Be Lazy
Having changed into a new set of robes, Desmond had to endure Xiauyue’s look of jealousy who had realized that the clothes he was wearing had been borrowed from i.
Truly speechless from the girl’s jealousy and too tired to even tease her about it, Desmond just took his place at the table waiting for i to serve their breakfast.
Perhaps out of consideration for Desmond who was injured and needed so extra nutrients to recover, the food i prepared was not only excessively abundant but she even used so ingredients that are rich with aura.
Desmond didn′t notice the detail due to his unfamiliarity with the ingredients but Xiauyue certainly did notice the arrangent and although she felt so jealousy about it she didn′t make a comnt since the only reason Desmond was hurt was because of her.
As soon as the plates touched the table, Desmond lost any sign of manners and simply began to devour anything that looked delicious and given i’s culinary skills; everything on the table not only looked but was also delicious.
Such an almost savage attitude from Desmond left Xiauyue quite speechless but her surprise only increased when she saw i join the table and imitate Desmond’s way of eating, seeing the food quickly disappear and feeling the need for food that her body transmitted to her; Xiauyue snapped against her better judgnt joining the other pair of gluttons at the table.
Seeing the ever graceful and calm Xiauyue suddenly beco just another competitor at the table left both Desmond and i dumbfounded, but as soon as she snatched the largest plate of at on the table from Desmond; they started a non-campaign battle for food.
With laughter, so banter, and arguing along with the occasional flying piece of food, the al passed quickly for the trio who hadn’t had fun like this in a long ti.
That was especially the case for Xiauyue who due to her many responsibilities and expectations rarely had the chance to simply enjoy the little things in her life.

Although i Fei Long was not entirely different, to survive in a world of strength and cruelty while being an orphan from a young age, she had been too focused on getting stronger to enjoy sothing as trivial as conversation and food with friends.
In that sense Desmond was the strangest of the three of them because although his life circumstances shared characteristics with the lives of both girls, Desmond did co to enjoy more worldly pleasures; but for his own reasons, these pleasures were mainly taken place in a lady’s bedroom.
Whatever the case, the trio had a good ti and at so point in the course of this, dawn had reached the roving cloud sect and with it, the place was quickly filled with activity.
Such a thing would normally not have any real effect on i who was kind of a lone wolf in the sect and Desmond who basically only hung out when i was out, but with the new guest ca new events.
By the end of the al, the trio felt quite lazy with all the events that had occurred the day before so Desmond suggested that they spend at least the morning at ho just resting; an idea that imdiately attracted the attention of the girls.
But while Desmond was preparing a round of Sasha’s special tea that he brought with him, soone ca knocking on the door looking for Xiauyue, less than a minute later she returned with what looked like a scroll of so kind.
Noticing the attention of the other two people in the room on her, Xiauyue unrolled the scroll and spoke aloud: “This is news from ho, soone from my people ca to inform .”
“Bad news?” i asked with a slight tone of concern in her beautiful voice.
And although Xiauyue felt a soft warmth in her heart from the concern shown by i, the truth is that what the scroll showed was not even a novelty at all so she replied with slight humor: “It is certainly bad news, so idiot attacked a brothel in the city and blew it to pieces. ”
In the next instant, she had to move quickly to avoid the little berry that Desmond threw at her in response, letting out an adorable little giggle; Xiauyue went on to explain, “There are only two details that caught the attention of my family, so of the remains found bore the mark of the purple crows, and so unusual movents of the Bai family were also detected.
For so reason, the Bai family mobilized a large part of their personal forces to sweep the city under the pretext of catching the criminals who dared to disturb the peace of the city, but my family doesn’t trust their motives. ”
Desmond and i listened carefully but so far none of the aforentioned was outside of their assumptions so they were quite disappointed; though Desmond took the opportunity to interrupt Xiauyue by giving her a fresh cup of tea.
“Enjoy it,” Desmond said with a calm smile.
For so reason, Desmond’s calm smile only earned Xiauyue’s mistrust who expected so kind of joke from him but to her pleasant surprise there was nothing wrong with the tea, quite the opposite; the tea was simply exquisite and left a soothing sensation as she drank it.
Seeing Xiauyue drink with joy, Desmond handed another cup to i who imdiately drank greedily which caused Desmond another smile, taking his own cup and sitting in a relaxed place Desmond asked: “So, any news at all? ? ”
“Not really, it’s more or less like you and I expected, the Bai family already mobilized their n within the sect to track any movent coming from the other two families; but they were almost entirely concentrated on the core forces of the Miao family and the Zhu family.
They just don’t think it possible that a disciple’s strength was enough to create the chaos of last night so after tracking my whereabouts here and checking with the patrols both within the sect and on the walls; I am no longer considered a suspect. ” Xiauyue replied in detail but she couldn’t hide her contempt for the Bai family as she spoke.
To which Desmond responded almost imdiately with pain almost palpable in his voice: “You could not talk about it, that chaos last night cost a bloody fortune; every ti I think about it I feel like my little heart bleeds. ”
Usually, in front of her, n try to appear as rich, arrogant, and disinterested as possible to impress her, so Desmond’s bitter complaints as well as being funny seed interesting to Xiauyue; but she still felt bad because she knew that Desmond’s words carried the truth, there was no way that such destructive power was priceless.
“Stop whining about it, Xiauyue’s family is rich, they sure can repay you what you lost last night.” i’s voice ca out of nowhere.
And if Desmond was not so comfortable letting laziness take over, he would have jumped for joy when he heard it but instead, he just looked at Xiauyue and replied with calm seriousness: “I want resources to strengthen the body, I am not interested in anything related to increasing or purification of the Ki; pay what you think is fair ”
Contrary to what one might think Xiauyue did not find his response or greedy behavior rude at all and making a ntal note about it, she only nodded in response.
“What do we do now?” asked i who finished her tea and now she was lazily lying on the floor.
Desmond thought about it for a mont as he finished his tea, but after a few seconds, he realized that he actually had no particular plan or thing to do, so he might as well stay ho to finish recovering from his injuries.
Maybe a little too spoiled Desmond spoke to Xiauyue: “Hey, how about you pay now for saving your life last night?”
And without any sha or sense of asure, Desmond made Xiauyue let him use her thighs as a pillow while taking a nap, obviously, Xiauyue did not agree to it imdiately but she did so eventually under the combined insistence of Desmond and i who decided to join in the last minute.
Although in i’s case, she did not support Desmond because she had suddenly gotten over her jealousy regarding this kind of physical interaction between Desmond and Xiauyue, but because Desmond suggested at so point that she should also lean on Xiauyue.
With that being the case, i didn’t hesitate for even a second before biting the bait and launching herself at Xiauyue trying to convince her.
In the end, after twists and turns, the trio ended up asleep in the living room in an undecorate way, with poor Xiauyue in the middle being used as a hug pillow by Desmond and i; which left her with mixed feelings about it until she managed to fall asleep.
And although it would not be said aloud or accepted by any of them, they found so peace within that strange and not at all aesthetic embrace; the warmth they found in each other helped them forget the loneliness that each of them always carried in their heart.
