130 Chapter 130 A Day in the Sister’s life. (1)
(Claire POV)
My brother and I had only spent a few weeks living in the town of Green Seed and yet as I hurriedly made my way to school more than one person greeted , you could say that the pair of boys who moved out of town to live In the “mansion” on the hill he was quite famous; in my case, it was not so unusual for a young girl to win a certain affection from the neighbors, but as far as Desmond is concerned. . . Suffice it to say that most of the people who greeted him or sent greetings through were young or old won.
But having gotten used to my brother’s womanizer a long ti ago, the sowhat energetic attitude of those won did not bother much, I also understood that Desmond had a rather demanding taste in won so he would not sleep with any woman who crossed him; in turn, he knew that the reason Desmond acted so charming to won was not as simple as it seed on the surface.
If soone traced the steps of my dear brother through the city and pointed out the places that he visited the most in his day to day life, he would think that there was nothing strange about it except the fact that he might as well go to closer places to do certain duties. ; but if soone investigated further they would find a couple of interesting things.
For example, Desmond always bought bread from the second-best bakery in town even when the first-best bakery was closer to ho. The reason? The lieutenant’s wife in charge of military supplies ran the place.
Desmond also used to buy takeout from a restaurant on the east side of town, the reason? The cashier who manned the store was the daughter of the lieutenant in charge of human resources at the local military base.
Desmond of course would not bring such food ho, being he who always insisted on cooking a balanced al, so he would bring such food to the children in the orphanage that is in the north area of ??a town; in this case, part of the reason is simply that Desmond likes children. . . The other part of the reason? One of the nuns in charge of taking care of the children there was the adopted daughter of the captain of the strongest Espera squad at the local military base.
And there were more cases similar to those, Desmond had invested a significant amount of his spare ti getting to know the town and making connections. . . Of course, either because he wanted to be subtle about it, Desmond was not looking for information from the source, and instead, he was looking for won related in one way or another to the person he was looking for.
That way Desmond could tell with so degree of speed if any major change would take place, of course, I cannot completely rule out that Desmond is simply a womanizer and everything else ca just passing by. . . but that would be too much of a coincidence.
.....
Thinking of all of the above as I made my way to school, I realized once again how much Desmond did for us, truly one could only marvel at how much Desmond worked behind the scenes to make our lives easier and safer.
′′ Claire are you late too? ′′
While I was deep in my thoughts, a voice erged at my side, making turn instinctively to see the origin of it, there was a girl slightly taller than with long dark hair falling like a waterfall to her waist, she had a figure fairly well balanced and a fairly mature face for her age; She was the first friend I made when I ca to this place and her na was:
′′ lissa, don’t tell you fell asleep or sothing like that, why are you late? ′′ I asked my friend as she continued running.
′′ Of course not, Mom wanted to help her prepare so things at the pastry shop. ′′ lissa answered who did not seem tired in the least despite having been running for a long ti.
An interesting detail is that lissa’s parents used to have a highly reputable patisserie in the town of Karx where my brother and I used life, after an incident in the patisserie they decided to leave town due to insecurity, but they still have contact with so city providers so so news still makes its way from the city to here; Strangely though it wasn’t like that at first, lissa beca my way of keeping up with certain news in the city of Karx. . . now I feel a bit like Desmond.
′′ And why are you late Claire? ′′
lissa’s question brought back from my thoughts so I explained briefly that I ended up wasting too much ti during breakfast, to which I received an unexpected response.
′′ Didn’t your brother leave town? What did you eat if he’s not there to make you breakfast? Don’t tell you ate sothing cooked by you, will you be okay? Won’t you get sick to your stomach ′′ As lissa told that, she seed to look at as if I were a sick patient with sothing serious in a hospital.
′′ Go to hell lissa, I don’t cook that bad. . . at least not enough to make soone sick. ′′ I replied angrily.
′′ So you cooked? ′′ She answered back.
no. . . Desmond left the refrigerator practically full of food so that I just had to reheat it. ′′ I could only blush with embarrassnt as she replied to my friend that she was not as wrong as I would like her to be.
A small laugh escaped lissa as she looked at with pity, not wanting to give her a taste, I just looked back at her and refused to comnt further.
You have to be kidding , the day has just begun and I was already lectured by Kyuru and now my best friend makes fun of my incompetence in the kitchen, rembering how there was still a whole day ahead I could only pray to the goddess of fortune that I favor a bit from now on.
