As soon as the door creaked and clicked shut, Zoren took a deep breath and squeezed Penny’s hips. He shut his eyes, biting her lips harder than he intended due to excitent. Every fiber of his body felt electrified with feverish sparks as the primal, rusty gears in his head began turning him into a hungry beast, ready to devour the piece of at that had landed on his lap.

However, he might be a beast, but Penny was definitely not just a lump of at to devour. With heavy reluctance, he pulled away, using every bit of his energy.

Resting his forehead against hers, both of them were breathless. The remnants of alcohol lingered on his taste buds, slightly making him feel intoxicated.

"Penny," he said through gritted teeth, his voice laced with restraint. "Did you drink?"

Penny slowly leaned her head back, blinking innocently. "Hmm," she humd with a wide smile. "I did... just a little — very little."

"Little?" he repeated, slowly recovering from the unexpected and breathless kiss. "How little?"

"Like this." She pinched the air and then glanced at the gap between her thumb and index finger. She pinched more until there were only a few centiters between her fingers. "This little."

A shallow breath slipped past his nostrils, his lips drawn into a thin line. "Co, sit with ," he invited, holding her hand as he walked to the couch and sat down. As soon as Zoren sat, he paused as he felt a weight on his lap.

Penny grinned as she sat down on his lap, her arms loosely resting over his shoulders.

"Penny," he called helplessly, leaning back against the backrest. "You do not want to do this, dear."

"Do not want to do what?"

"Seduce ." His answer was quick, showing no sign of hesitation before saying it.

Penny pouted and locked her hands on his nape. "I don’t want to go," she murmured through puckered lips. "I want to stay here. We haven’t even had our honeymoon yet."

A montary silence fell as he tried to study her. Although practicing blindness had earned Zoren so good habits and skills, it wasn’t helpful in this situation. The Penny he knew was playful and mischievous, but her drunken state was twice as much.

Above all, her drunken state was making her say things she wouldn’t say when sober — or perhaps she wouldn’t say without thinking twice. Hence, this version of her was dangerous.

’She...’ he ran his tongue along his inner cheek, clamping her waist as he pulled her closer. ’...makes hard.’

Penny flinched a little as she almost fell on his chest with his movent. However, she grinned and liked his roughness.

"Hehe. Husband, you nasty, perverted man!" she poked his chest playfully. "I knew it! You want , don’t you? Hehe. Say it. You want it too—"

She halted when he suddenly held her finger, snapping her eyes to et his sharp ones.

"Yes," he said. "I want you... not just tonight, but for the rest of your life. I wanted you the mont I got to know you. It’s the sa—or rather, that desire is much more now than a second ago."

"Goodness." Her cheeks flushed red as she sucked her inner cheeks like a kid. "I’m just teasing you."

"I’m not."

She pouted and relaxed her arms on his shoulders, leaning her face forward. "Fine, fine! Let’s do it—tehee~"

"No."

"Huh?"

"As much as I want to, I can’t."

"Aww... why?"

"Because... you’re drunk."

"But it’s very little."

"You’re a lightweight, so that little amount is like a gallon to you."

"Half a bottle is a gallon?!" she blurted out in shock, only to realize she had just revealed how much she had drunk tonight.

Zoren, on the other hand, shook his head. He hadn’t known she was a lightweight and had simply teased her. Who would have thought his wife was an actual lightweight? Little did he know, Penny hadn’t just drunk half a bottle—she had already consud half a glass before she passed out.

"What a troublemaker," he murmured, pulling her closer to his body. "Co and sleep now. It’s okay. I’m here."

Although he wanted to ask what made her attack everyone or how she knew Nathaniel, Zoren didn’t think it was his priority right now. After witnessing her madness and feeling the level of anger she carried—to the point she was ready to beco a murderer—Zoren knew there were more important things to do than ask questions.

Her brows rose as her head awkwardly fell on his shoulder, feeling his hand gently stroke her back. She looked up at him, confused. However, she didn’t imdiately ask questions because his hold felt so reassuring, and the way he spoke gave her a sense of peace.

It was as though... she could truly rest without worrying about tomorrow.

"My husband is so reliable," she mumbled, now feeling a bit of her overflowing energy decrease. "Good thing I married you."

Zoren raised his brows as his ears perked. He drew his head back a little, making her look up at him.

"Yes?" she asked, fluttering her eyelashes coquettishly. "What is it?"

"You married ?" he asked, and she nodded. "You know?"

"Mhm." She tilted her head to the side. "You don’t know?"

This ti, deep lines appeared between Zoren’s eyebrows as he looked at her. Now that he thought about it, even in her drunken state, she recognized him. He had assud it was because she was simply drunk.

But then again, in her sober state, Penny hadn’t called him her husband. She would even get flustered the first ti he addressed her as Mrs. Pierson. It was the only reason Zoren was taking it slow in that area so as not to overwhelm her.

His thoughts halted when she asked him another question.

"Husband, don’t you rember our promise?" she asked, making him furrow his brows. "Goodness. You married not long ago, but you’ve already forgotten our marriage vows. Is this what they call a broken vow?"

"Penny, what promise did I break?" he asked, waiting for her to shift her attention back to him. "I’m asking so I can rectify it."

Penny frowned in disappointnt before she exclaid, "You said you’d take my virginity!"
