"Hey! Out of the way!" Angel yelled at the n guarding the front door. "Out of the fucking way! HELP!"
The n turned toward Angel, eyes widening. Behind him was the black panther, Renny. They had heard about the commotion, but the orders they received were to guard the front door while others dealt with the situation.
This didn’t look like it was dealt with!
"Out of the way!" Angel’s voice rang out again, prompting everyone to scramble aside. None of them dared to engage in the fight or help him.
This was Angel’s problem.
"Shit!" Angel cursed under his breath. "No one’s even taking the initiative?"
Out of spite, Angel rushed through the group. As a result, Renny charged at them as well.
"Ack!"
Not caring about the additional collateral damage, Angel’s eyes blazed as he neared the front door. Sensing the panther still behind him, he didn’t slow down. He only stopped when he was close enough to the door. Using his montum, he slid across the floor and grabbed a pillar, allowing him to quickly change direction.
Mark, following them with the help of one of his n, paused and watched. His mouth fell open in surprise at Angel’s swift movents.
’He’s... good,’ Mark thought. But he also realized sothing else: ’Or maybe Renny doesn’t plan to stop at all.’
For a mont, everything seed to slow down as everyone’s eyes shifted from Angel to the black panther. They held their breath, wide-eyed, and could only watch as the massive black cat hurtled toward the front door.
"He’s not going to break it, is he?" soone muttered. At that mont, a loud crash snapped them back to reality.
BAM!
"Hey!"
"Renny!"
"Ouch — fuuu—!"
The black panther had forced its way inside, and everyone panicked — not because they feared it would hurt Zoren, but because Zoren would be furious with them. Zoren had sent his n to stop Renny from causing chaos, but with the panther making such a grand entrance, their failure was evident.
They were all in for a scolding and punishnt for sure.
All of them rushed toward the front door. However, before they could reach it, they saw sothing — or rather, soone — moving from the second floor.
"Boss, watch out!" soone yelled, rushing forward to protect Zoren. But Penny was closer. "Above you!"
For a mont, they wondered if Penny could jump from the second floor without injuring herself. That height would be enough to break soone’s bone, no matter what. Their question didn’t last long, though, because when Renny leaped, they could hardly believe their eyes.
Penny jumped from the zzanine, landing on Renny’s back. She didn’t stay there for long, using the panther as a stepping stone for a safe landing.
THUD!
Everyone held their breath, eyes locked on the woman now sitting atop Nathaniel. They froze, listening to her voice dripping with murderous intent.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here? Found yourself in a pickle, Tantan?"
At that mont, Mark arrived at the entrance, supported by one of his n. His brows furrowed as his gaze fell on Penny and the man they had abducted under Zoren’s orders.
’Her target is that guy?’ Mark wondered, confused. ’Why? What did that guy do to him?’
Angel, on the other hand, crawled away from the pillar and peeked through the legs before him. When his eyes caught Penny, a heavy sigh escaped him. "What kind of reality is she living now?"
Nathaniel, anwhile, stared at the woman in horror. He blinked repeatedly, but her face was unfamiliar. Despite that, she seed to know him and she seed... to loathe him as well.
’Penny?’ Zoren frowned, lines forming between his brows. But instead of focusing on her, he turned his head toward the entrance. His vision was blurry, but he could still make out the figures gathering by the door.
BAM!
At the sa ti, Renny landed a few steps from the entrance. The panther had been pushed back by Penny’s jump, but he still managed to land on all fours, his gaze fixed on Zoren.
"What’s going on here...?" Zoren whispered in confusion.
Slowly, his gaze shifted to Penny. Despite the unpleasant sll of gasoline, he could faintly sll her soothing, natural scent.
"Who — who are you?!" Nathaniel scread, terrified. "Why are you — boss! Help , please! I don’t know —"
Nathaniel’s voice faltered as Penny suddenly grabbed a butcher knife lying next to him. She swung her arm, aiming it directly at his forehead, but stopped just inches away.
He stopped breathing, staring at her with wide, trembling eyes. "Please, don’t kill ," he whimpered. His heart pounded in his chest. Unlike when he had managed to stay calm in front of Zoren, he couldn’t keep his composure in front of this crazy woman!
"You... don’t know ?" Penny laughed softly, lowering her head, seemingly unconcerned about the many eyes on her. "Nathaniel, you don’t know ? The person you betrayed and then sent to prison?"
"What?" Nathaniel gasped, nearly squealing. He scrambled through his mories, trying to figure out if Penny was one of the people he had betrayed. After all, his business often involved scapegoats.
So were willing scapegoats, but others were unfortunate victims who were in the wrong place at the wrong ti. Cruel as it was, that’s how their world worked. But despite his ruthless actions, Nathaniel couldn’t recall ever using this woman as a scapegoat.
He would rember, especially soone as beautiful as her!
"Haha!" Penny laughed dryly, her anger rising as she saw the confusion and arrogance on his face. "You human trash... I’ll kill you."
She drew her hand back, this ti determined to bury the knife in his skull. Just thinking about this man filled her with fury and pain. But seeing him act so smug, not even rembering her, made her see red.
She, who had suffered so much, wasn’t even worth rembering?
What an insult.
She had no thoughts of taking him hostage or interrogating him anymore. All she wanted was for him to feel her pain and to understand what his betrayal had turned her into.
"Die!" she scread, about to swing the knife down when a hand firmly grabbed her arm from behind.
