Vroom!

On the interstate highway, a motorcycle sped down the lane, recklessly overtaking cars. Angry honks and curses filled the road, but nothing slowed the motorist’s pace.

The engine revved again, louder this ti, as the rider gained on a car ahead.

Inside that car, Teddy shut his eyes briefly as a flash of light caught in his side mirror. He glanced at it again, brows furrowing when he spotted a motorcyclist trailing behind them.

"Mark," he called out, a trace of panic in his voice. "Soone’s behind us."

Who knew? It could be Shawn’s reinforcents or soone worse. As Penny’s assistants, they were both aware she had bodyguards. Mark was usually with her unless she sent him on an errand. But sohow, the speed of the motorist and how it was trying to catch up to them made him very suspicious.

Turning to Mark, panic now etched across Teddy’s face, he tried again, "Sir Mark—"

"That’s Hugo Bennet," Mark replied, eyes fixed on the road. He didn’t slow down, even as the motorcycle closed in. "Don’t worry. If it’s soone else, our n would’ve done sothing with him."

Soon, Hugo was side-by-side with the driver’s seat. Mark rolled down his window.

"Black, no license plate, possibly ard," was all Mark said. "We hadn’t confird if Miss Penny is in there, but according to Teddy, she’s with them."

Hugo barely turned his head. Still, he imdiately caught the fear in Teddy’s normally aloof expression. He didn’t say a word—just nodded, then focused ahead. The visor of his helt glinted in the light as he twisted the handlebars and accelerated.

In seconds, Hugo’s bike began overtaking the vehicle. Mark didn’t change speed, but Hugo’s bike was faster, built to weave easily through traffic.

Hugo’s eyes scanned the black sedan ahead. Intuitively, he killed his headlights. Dangerous move—but he feared more for Penny’s safety. He hadn’t seen her inside. Which left two possibilities: either she wasn’t there... or she was unconscious. Maybe in the trunk.

Either way, Hugo didn’t hesitate. He sped up, thinking he could figure out what to do later.

---

anwhile, inside the unlicensed sedan, Shawn checked the side mirror and spotted the motorcycle that had no headlights. If he hadn’t been paying attention, he might’ve missed it. After all, it was already late, and most of the cars behind him had their headlights on.

"Keep driving," Shawn ordered, pulling out a gun and narrowing his eyes at the mirror.

He slowly rolled down the window, waiting for the motorist to draw closer. His face darkened as his grip on the weapon tightened.

Soon, Hugo was at their rear.

He glanced at the backseat window, eyes dilating as he finally saw his sister unconscious.

"Penny!"

Before he could act, he saw the front passenger window already rolled down. Coming out of it was a pistol.

"Shit—"

BANG!

SCREECH!

The first bullet sparked against the pavent. Hugo swerved just in ti. Another shot, he narrowly dodged. But the sudden maneuver caused his bike to tilt dangerously.

If not for his control, he would’ve crashed.

HONK!!

"Motherfucker—do you wanna die?!" a driver scread as Hugo grazed the side of his car, barely keeping on course. "Watch where your—"

BANG!

Another shot rang out. This ti, Hugo raised his leg and kicked the side of the car next to him. It swerved slightly, just enough that the bullet hit the other car’s side mirror instead.

The complaining driver gasped, wrestling the wheel to keep from slamming into another vehicle.

"What the—?!"

"Move away!" Hugo shouted through his helt, slapping the car door as he pushed ahead. The driver, stunned, let off the gas and flipped on his hazard lights to warn those behind.

"What in the world..." the man muttered, watching the sa motorist he cursed seconds ago save him from a bullet.

Hugo raised a thumbs-up as a signal. It was a ssage: Penny’s in the car.

That was the confirmation they needed. Until now, no one was sure. But Hugo had seen her.

Imdiately, other vehicles—both sedans and SUVs—began moving. So overtook cars in other lanes. Others slowed deliberately, creating rolling blocks behind the black sedan. Anything to limit pursuit from behind and clear the way ahead.

This wasn’t just a chase anymore. This was a coordinated operation.

anwhile, in a private resort far from the chaos...

"Haha... hahaha..."

Laughter echoed through a large suite.

Jonathan leaned back against a plush headboard, hand over his ribs. His hospital robe shifted as he touched the side of his abdon, wincing.

"Ha ha... ah—" he clenched his teeth. The stab wound flared with pain, sharper with each laugh. "Damn it."

He glared down at the gauze over his wound. A drip line still hung from his hand, IV inserted just like it had been in the hospital. Honestly, the room wasn’t much different from the ward he’d escaped from.

But here, he was free.

"Hah..." he exhaled, leaning harder into the pillows.

Even with pain, a satisfied grin curled across his lips.

"Everything’s slowly coming together," he muttered, muffling his laughter as his head fell back. "Ah... those bastards. Playing along with them was really hard."

"But even so..." His grin twisted wider—wicked now. "...it’s all worth it."

Every little sacrifice he’d made—worth it.

Because now... his goal was within reach.

"In just a few hours," he whispered, fingers curling as his pupils glead, "the Zorken... and the code... will be mine."

As the words slipped past his lips, his grin broke into a full-blown display of teeth. After a beat of silence, he started laughing again, hand over his face, dragging through his hair.

Everything... every move... had gone exactly according to plan.

The first attempt on his life.

The stabbing.

Shawn.

Even that Delro file that had lured Dean and Atlas to the underground vault.

Those guys from the Zorken Family who raided the underground wall...

All of it was part of his elaborate plan, which he had in place for a long ti.

"I’ve... won."
