Penny and Zoren didn’t linger long. After Zoren had a bite of his cake and asked Penny for help, she happily finished it for him—in a blink of an eye. This was on top of the two slices she had already eaten before the official one in the living room.
"Take care, Penny." Nina stood by the doorway with Finn, watching the couple outside. "Are you sure you don’t want us to walk you out?"
Penny shook her head. "Don’t bother. Blacky and Chunchun are waiting for us outside, and they might mistake you for food."
"..." Nina was montarily speechless before blurting out, "You left your black panther and your cat outside?"
"Mhm!" Penny nodded before laughing. "Don’t worry. They’ll be fine."
That wasn’t what Nina was worried about. She knew Penny’s pets would be fine, but she wasn’t so sure about any unsuspecting pedestrians taking a nightti stroll.
"Anyway, thank you for coming by." Finn took over, sensing Nina’s unspoken concerns. By now, he had accepted that Penny’s and Zoren’s logic was sothing he would never fully grasp. The couple was truly a match made in heaven.
"No worries!" Penny then flashed Zoren a look. "Shall we?"
"Mhm?" Zoren humd, casting Finn and Nina a quick glance. As he and Penny turned away, he leaned closer to her and murmured, "I think we’re ready to go to your parents’ ho and brag about our marriage next."
Penny treaded carefully as she turned to him. "Renren, I like the confidence, but it’s still too early to challenge them to a showdown."
"Is it?"
"Mhm. Let’s just go to Grandma’s to reassure her that we still love each other."
"Even without reassurance, she’ll always make sure you love ," he replied with an innocent smile, making Penny furrow her brows.
As the two of them walked away, still deep in conversation, Nina and Finn remained by the doorway, listening. Nina smiled, letting out a soft chuckle as she sighed in relief. Finn, on the other hand, simply shook his head.
He had thought that once Penny and Nina returned from the kitchen, it would put an end to Zoren’s nonstop bragging. But not only had it continued—Penny had even backed her husband up.
"I think they ca here just to brag about their marriage," Finn mumbled, making Nina chuckle.
She turned to him. "They ca to welco us to the neighborhood... because, technically, we’re still new here."
"That, and to brag about their marriage," Finn added, making her laugh.
"I guess that’s true." Nina reached for his hand, her eyes twinkling as she gave it a gentle squeeze. "But I’m glad they ca tonight."
Otherwise, Nina knew that what they had been discussing earlier would have weighed even heavier on Finn’s heart. She knew he wanted to confront his parents, and convincing him not to would have been impossible. But for her, he was willing to hold back... for now.
Finn studied her face before his expression softened. " too," he said, nodding. "I’m glad they ca by tonight."
They exchanged smiles before shifting their gaze back to where Penny and Zoren were disappearing into the night.
Whether they admitted it or not, Penny and Zoren’s unexpected visit had lightened their mood. It wasn’t that their own problems were trivial, but in comparison, Zoren and Penny had far more to deal with. The Pierson family alone was an endless source of drama. Yet, despite everything, those two still found ti for a nightti stroll and small joys in life.
They never let outside troubles affect their relationship, their marriage, or their happiness.
"Let’s work on the empty room," Finn suggested, turning to Nina. "And maybe schedule an appointnt to choose an official wedding date."
Nina’s lips curled into a smile as she nodded in satisfaction. "I actually had a few ideas and made so sketches earlier today." She took his hand and led him inside while Finn reached back to close the door.
Thanks to Zoren and Penny, Nina and Finn had found a mont of comfort and peace amid their dilemma. Instead of letting it weigh them down, they could choose to focus on the good. It didn’t an they would ignore their problems entirely, but this setback wouldn’t be what would break them—or their relationship.

As the front door shut behind them, Zoren glanced back. Then, he turned to Penny, tilting his head slightly.
"Are you sure we’re not going to step in?" he asked. "The Davis family just touched your sister. I can ss with them—just say the word."
The corners of Penny’s mouth curled into a smirk as she gave him a sidelong glance. "No, it’s fine. Finn and Nina will figure it out. I trust them—both of them. They can handle it."
"If that’s what you want." Zoren shrugged indifferently, taking her hand as they strolled toward their waiting pets.
Truthfully, they had co here purely for the cake. But in the process, they had overheard Nina and Finn’s conversation. Penny, being the biggest busybody, had eavesdropped before ringing the doorbell. That brief exchange had been more than enough for them to grasp the situation.
"I’m glad we stopped by," Zoren remarked as they stepped through the gates. He cast his wife a warm smile. "They needed a distraction, and we just happened to provide one."
Penny grinned. " too." She raised a fist to him. "We make a good team."
"We do." He chuckled, lightly bumping his knuckles against hers before they resud walking.
Ahead of them, Renny and Chunchun were waiting patiently.
"Aww, Blacky~! Chunchun~! I’m so sorry we had to leave you out here~!" Penny spread her arms wide, hurrying toward her "children." "The guards were a little scared of you because they don’t realize how sweet and well-behaved you two are~!"
One of the guards, standing near the gate, scrunched up his face. ’How would I know? That thing isn’t an everyday pet!’
But who cared about the guards’ thoughts? Renny was a gentle loveable giant, after all. Chunchun was even scarier than him.
