Telling Max about Ginnie’s feelings was easy. However, one also needed to consider Ginnie’s feelings. If Lily just blurted it out to Max, he might only have the courage to pursue Ginnie because he knew he had a chance. While that might not be true, Lily and Penny knew it would feel that way to Ginnie.

Otherwise, Lily would’ve already told Max, given how frustrated she was with him.

But Ginnie could be very prideful, and the last thing she wanted was to feel pitied—especially by Max.

"I’ll kill him!" Lily announced, biting her handkerchief as if venting her frustration into the poor fabric.

"Don’t, young lady. You’d end up in prison," Wild advised, while Penny nodded in agreent.

"Then I’m going to hurt him!" Lily yelled through her tears. "I’m so angry! Penny, what am I going to do? Do you think Max doesn’t really like my poor baby Ginnie?"

"You’re really going to ask her, young lady?" Wild asked, but Penny answered anyway.

"He doesn’t. No doubt." Penny shook her head. "If he really liked Ginnie, why would he let her date my brother? Of all people, my brother?! I an, I wouldn’t protest if the two of them ended up together, but my Second Brother isn’t ready for a relationship. He knows nothing -- He’s just existing at the mont!"

"I know, right?" Lily cald down slightly, pleased that Penny was on the sa page.

Lily wouldn’t have minded if Max set Ginnie up with soone else—but Hugo? Sure, Hugo was kind, but kindness wouldn’t feed anyone! What Ginnie needed was a stable man, not a crazy one who should probably be seeing a therapist.

"I knew it." Wild clicked his tongue continuously, shaking his head as he glanced between Penny and Lily. "Penny is not the right person to ask these kinds of questions."

"Why not, Uncle Wild?" Penny frowned, then added proudly, "Do you know how good my reputation is in this area? Every person I’ve advised about love has made up, and their relationships are only getting stronger."

Wild doubted that. But strangely, it was true.

Take Finn, for example. He went to Penny for love advice, and look at him now with Nina! If only Wild knew the full story, he might have had so faith in Penny. However, Penny had no idea that Finn and Nina had only made up because Finn had acted like an idiot after following Penny’s advice—forcing Nina to spell things out for him. Well, if making soone act stupid counted as help, then sure, Penny helped.

"Besides, if I were in Max’s situation, I’d bring forth the inferno itself to get my hands on Renren," Penny continued, making Lily and Wild stare at her. That didn’t sound right. "No way in hell would I set him up on a date just so he could fall in love with another woman. Do you even know what I pray for every night and day? May he lose his sight again if he looks at another woman, may he lose his teeth if the reason for his smile is another woman, and may the heavens take him if he’s not ant for ."

"Oh, wow." Lily, who had been sobbing just monts ago, suddenly stopped. "That’s intense."

"You’re crazy," Wild added. "I’m so glad I wasn’t born in your ti."

"My point is, Max doesn’t like Ginnie. If he did, he would fight for her right off the bat. No excuses, no noble sacrifices. Just a full-blown war." Penny nodded to herself, convinced her twisted reasoning was completely sound. "So in conclusion, he doesn’t deserve Ginnie at all. Lily, just let the guy be. He deserves it."

Lily nodded, convinced. "I promised Ginnie that if we’re still single at thirty, I’ll marry her. I can just shower her with love until then."

Wild, listening to these young won, shook his head. His mouth opened, but he shut it again.

’Surely, won in this generation are crazier,’ he thought, shaking his head mildly. ’I can’t believe I’m listening to this while that poor guy they’re talking about is probably just trying to show how much he likes their friend.’

Now, Wild couldn’t help but wonder what these ladies’ parents had taught them about love. Surely, Charles had drilled it into Penny’s head that love was an all-out war. Wild wasn’t surprised, considering how intense Charles was when it ca to his wife, Allison.

But Lily? What kind of parent had raised this young lady? Not that he was saying they raised her wrong... but sothing was definitely off.

’Well, they’re adults,’he told himself, choosing to enjoy his barbecue rather than get involved in their tangled misunderstandings and absurd reasoning. ’They’ll figure it out eventually.’

With that thought, Wild simply listened, judging them in his old mind.

After a minute, a knock suddenly ca at the door. When it opened, everyone turned to see Mark stepping inside.

Mark sniffed faintly, catching the strong scent of barbecue. However, he ignored it—just like he ignored Lily.

"Miss Grace sent you all these invitations," he said, handing a thick stack of envelopes to Penny. "She said you need to co."

Deep lines appeared between Penny’s brows as she accepted the invitations.

"Invitations for what?" she blurted out, staring at them. She didn’t recall agreeing to any events, let alone this many, especially with the upcoming cyber competition Pri Group was hosting.

"That’s a lot of invitations," Lily murmured before looking up at Mark. "Hi, Mark. Am I still pretty even with my swollen eyes?"

Mark’s gaze flicked to Lily, his expression imdiately turning icy. "No."

"Hah!" Lily gasped while Mark turned to Penny. "Excuse ," he said, then promptly walked out—before Lily could even choke out a response.

"Penny, did you just hear him?!"

Lily turned to Penny, but she was already too busy inspecting the letters. When she turned to Wild, he simply raised his brows innocently.

"Uncle BBQ, did you just hear him?!" Lily gasped, pressing a hand against her chest.

Wild rocked his head. "Well, that was a very offensive thing to say..." he trailed off when Lily suddenly shouted,

"He just confessed to !"

"Huh?" Wild’s thoughts filled with question marks as his face twisted in confusion. "Young lady, I do know a psychiatrist. I’m not saying you need one... but you seriously need one."
