Ta-da!

Zoren and Finn looked over the counter as they placed their plates, showcasing what they had prepared for their significant others. It was just a simple breakfast, nothing that took much ti to make. But with the presentation alone, it almost looked like it belonged on a restaurant’s breakfast nu.

Zoren arched a brow, a little surprised by Finn’s plate. "Not bad."

"Not bad? Well, I guess it is, considering I barely prepared the easiest and simplest al," Finn shrugged indifferently, flashing Zoren a smile as the latter looked back at him. "Although I’m surprised the legendary CEO Pierson would cook for his wife."

"Why is that surprising? I’m just doing what husbands are supposed to do for their wives," Zoren said, picking up the plate and heading toward the dining room. "It’s the bare minimum."

Finn’s smile twitched slightly. "Are you insinuating sothing, Mr. Pierson?"

"I’m speaking facts, but if it hits a nerve, maybe soone needs to step up their ga—or raise their standards."

"Haha..." Finn brushed off the comnt with a laugh, but he had to admit Zoren was a bit annoying. He never expected Zoren to be like this—as if Zoren would let anyone take away his title of CEO or anything except the title of being a good husband.

’One of them is wondering if they kissed while she was a corpse, and this one...’Finn shook his head as he followed Zoren into the dining room with the plate he had prepared for his beloved Nina. ’Maybe they are truly ant for each other.’

When they reached the dining room and Zoren took another look at Finn’s plate, he said, "I never thought you could cook this well, Mr. Davis."

"I enrolled in a culinary class. That’s why."

"A culinary class?" Zoren raised an eyebrow.

The smile on Finn’s face briefly looked arrogant, but then he rembered the real reason he learned how to cook.

"What’s the reason?" Zoren asked as he sat down, watching Finn take a seat as well.

"I learned it back then to impress Nina," Finn admitted.

"I see. I guess that’s only natural if you’re determined."

Finn’s smile softened a little, tinged with bitterness. "But the reason behind it isn’t as simple as that." He exhaled heavily, leaning back. "I learned to cook to impress her, not because I liked her. People call it love-bombing, but I didn’t just do that. I made very calculated moves to make her mine."

"How I wish she wouldn’t step in right now."

"Haha. Even if she did, that wouldn’t be an issue," Finn chuckled. "I ca clean with her."

"Oh?"

"If I wanted to start fresh, I had to confess everything to her," Finn clarified. "I can’t keep fooling myself, and I can’t stomach fooling her again. I don’t want guilt to weigh down this relationship. Besides, my fiancée deserves the truth."

Zoren studied Finn’s calm expression, nodding slowly. He had to admit, this surprised him. Even though Penny had ntioned Finn a couple of tis and would gossip about how Finn ca to her for love advice, Zoren was still surprised to see it firsthand.

"It wasn’t easy, but eventually, she forgave ," Finn continued, then laughed as he joked, "I think my condition helped a little. I got a bit of sympathy."

"She should’ve made you crawl after her."

"I agree," Finn nodded. "I don’t deserve leniency or rcy. Even now, I still feel like she should be more strict with , more suspicious. But alas..." He lowered his eyes before an appreciative smile appeared on his face. "She’s right." He lifted his gaze at Zoren and added, "If I want to repent, the only way I can do that is by proving to her that my heart and intentions are sincere. I just had to show her that I deserved this second chance and never make her regret it. So, that’s what I’m doing. I don’t want to waste this chance to love her."

"I guess... she’s in good hands," Zoren remarked, offering Finn a respectful smile. "I’m glad to hear that. Though, I still hope you keep her busy three hundred sixty-five days a year."

"She’s already a busy woman. Don’t worry, Mr. Pierson. I can’t say I don’t like her leaving for Penny, because Penny is her sister, but I do wish I could keep her all to myself. I just couldn’t be selfish."

Was he saying Zoren was being selfish?

Zoren pondered that thought, reflecting on his own feelings to see if he was overdoing it. But then again, Zoren wasn’t stopping Penny from eting with others. He didn’t hate it, but a big part of him wanted to make sure everyone taking his wife’s ti knew she was only his.

Was it really called selfishness?

"Though my setup with Nina is different from your setup with Penelope. So, please, don’t misunderstand," Finn remarked, noticing Zoren seed lost in thought. "I’m sure your relationship is already better than it could be."

"It is," Zoren nodded confidently. "We’re going to have quadruplets."

"Huh?" Finn furrowed his brows, surprised by the random comnt. "That... that’s uh... good, I think? Good luck."

"Thank you," Zoren smirked, as if certain he was getting closer to sothing. "Anyway, what was it you wanted to talk about?"

The mont those words left his mouth, Finn’s expression shifted. His eyes grew serious, and he leaned his arm against the table.

"I assud Penelope already told you about... us?" Finn paused, studying Zoren’s reaction. "Though I was surprised she trusted you enough to tell you that, there’s sothing I haven’t told her."

"Aren’t you two allies now?" Zoren frowned. "Why are you still keeping things from her?"

"I’m not keeping things from her, but I wanted to make sure of sothing before telling her."

"And that is?"

Finn didn’t answer imdiately, his sharp gaze focused on Zoren. "Until I know for sure I can trust you. Penelope seems to trust you a lot, but I don’t. Mr. Pierson, are you... just like us?" he asked, noticing Zoren furrow his brows. "And by that, I an... did you also go back in ti with your mories?"
