Because of the incident in the lobby, Zoren kindly insisted that Atlas and Allen stay in his office. Zoren and Benjamin remained for a while, but since their upcoming eting, they had to leave to ensure everything was settled.

Of course, Zoren didn’t have to go, but he thought Atlas wanted so private ti. So, out of courtesy, he went to the eting room earlier and spent ti ssaging his wife.

"I should’ve known," Allen huffed, seated across from his boss. "Even before he graduated, he was already doing internships at Global Pri Logistics. Besides, he’s the heir. So, he doesn’t have to go through a real job hunt. Being the CEO is his actual first job. I never felt so poor for quite so ti until now."

Another deep exhale escaped Allen as he looked at Atlas. For so reason, Atlas seed busy with his phone.

’I wonder who he’s ssaging? He rarely uses his phone, because whenever he needs sothing, he prefers calling,’Allen thought, shaking his head as he realized he was getting distracted. "But then again, he’s still... amazing."

Despite the initial shock, the more Allen thought about it, the more he couldn’t help but feel proud. Looking at Atlas, his eyes shimred as he clasped his hands together.

Atlas arched a brow when he noticed the positive energy coming from across the table. Lifting his eyes, all he saw was the blinding sparkle around Allen.

"What’s wrong with you?" he wondered, but Allen continued to glow. "Allen, get it together. If you’re angry at the security guard, go back there and go in and out of the building ten tis. They’d be very pissed."

"Sir... I just realized that my boss is amazing!"

"Hmm?"

Allen bead. "Sir, whatever you do in life, I’ll make sure to support you all the way! I’d be your loyal servant through and through!"

"..." Atlas’s already dead expression grew even more blank as he looked at his assistant. His mouth parted slightly, but he chose peace and closed it. Instead, Atlas ignored Allen and focused on his phone, continuing his lengthy ssage to Old Mrs. Pierson, which was written in an old-fashioned way to match her style.

He found a liking to this type of exchange.

Soti later...

Shareholders and board mbers began arriving at the Pierson Corporation, one after another. They were all aware of today’s agenda, and thus, they arrived with a clear head, observing the situation. The chairwoman’s retirent was a huge event for the company, as it could an another battle over the shares.

This ant there was a high possibility that Zoren might get kicked out.

How?

If Old Mrs. Pierson distributed her shares to the other branches of the family and not just to Zoren, that would give William Pierson so advantages. Right now, William was the only one who had actively shown interest in the leadership spot. Even if Old Mrs. Pierson gave William a fraction of her shares, everyone was aware that William had been secretly buying shares.

So of the shareholders were given so offers, so rejected outright, and others reconsidered. A few had already agreed to sell their shares. Of course, those who sold their shares kept quiet about it, as this was a private matter and shouldn’t be shared with anyone else until the ti was right.

Today, the share percentage would play a huge role.

It explained the tension in the air as the board mbers started walking into the eting room, one after another. Much to their surprise, Zoren was already inside. So of them glanced at each other with genuine wonder in their eyes, while others had their theories.

"This is rare. CEO Pierson never arrives before anyone else," soone at the round table spoke quietly to the person next to him. "What do you think this ans?"

"I think he’s anxious," another group at the table whispered among themselves, giving Zoren so glances. "I would be if I were in his position."

"Do you think the chairwoman would leave her favorite grandson just a small fraction of her shares?" one of them ventured. "Even if it kills the company, she’d pass it all on to CEO Pierson. That much is guaranteed."

The other two with him nodded in agreent. "Regardless, Old Mrs. Pierson still had no choice but to divide a small fraction of her shares to avoid any malice on the board."

It was complicated, but Old Mrs. Pierson’s division of shares was also important. Everything was for the sake of the Pierson Corporation and its future.

"Look. Director William Pierson is already here," soone said quietly, jerking their chin at the entrance. Entering the room were William and a few of his lackeys, followed by a young, charming man. "Who is that?"

Everyone who had their eyes on the entrance and saw Jonathan couldn’t help but wonder about him. This was the first ti they had seen Jonathan, and it piqued their curiosity.

"Hey," soone at the table whispered, leaning closer to the person next to her. "This is what I heard recently..."

The person whispered sothing to the other, leaving the other person gasping in shock. The two of them looked at each other, one nodding and the other shaking her head.

"Hehe..." William laughed joyfully, nodding in satisfaction as one of his lackeys pulled out a seat for him. He smirked as he snapped his eyes in Zoren’s direction while sitting down. "Jonathan, take a seat beside . I have a gift for you. Take this as a congratulatory gift."

Jonathan raised his brows and tilted his head to the side.

PING! DING!

Before Jonathan could wonder, he heard pings echo in the room. It wasn’t just one phone—everyone’s phones seed to receive ssages at the sa ti. When Jonathan’s phone vibrated, he curiously took it out and checked the ssage.

"Hmm?" Jonathan checked the text ssage, which contained a link to an article. Clicking the link, he was redirected to a news article from one of the most trusted sources in Anteca.

Jonathan raised his brows before his gaze fell on William, only to see the latter’s smug smirk. "This is how you do it. You have to act before the enemy. Rember that. This ti, he can’t turn the
