"I can see you very clearly... finally. And God, my wife is gorgeous!"
Penny’s mouth fell open, wide-eyed. With all the scribbles on her face, she looked like a clown. She blinked and blinked, staring at the majestic beauty inches from her. Her heart began to beat loudly in her chest until she heard it sound like:
DUN DUN DUN DUN!!!
Penny gasped as she realized what she actually looked like at that mont. It was far from the way she’d described it to Zoren. Without thinking, Penny pushed herself away from him. She jumped from her spot, ready to flee to the bathroom to get rid of this abominable art on her face.
That Slater Bennet! He better prepare for round two!
But just as Penny turned around to run, Zoren swiftly grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. With his movent, Penny fell back on the bed while he intuitively held her body still.
Her eyes shook a little as her breath caught in her throat. Slowly, she looked up at him, realizing their faces were inches apart again.
"Don’t go," he said with a smile. "Don’t hide. That scribbling isn’t enough to hide your beauty."
Her face twitched a little; those words sounded so familiar. "He... he... Renren, I... I know I’m not ugly, but this drawing is horrible. I don’t want our first eting to be looking at this—"
The rest of her words were cut off as he suddenly leaned in for a kiss. Her already mortified expression stiffened as her dilated eyes almost popped out of their sockets. For a second, her mind went blank, watching him pull his head back like a fool.
Zoren smiled subtly, brushing a few stray hairs from her face with the back of his hand. "It’s better than I expected," he said, referring to their first eting. "It’s perfect."
"..." Penny blinked, her mind still buffering.
"Stay with for a while. I’ve been waiting for you," he requested charmingly. "Will you? Please?"
"Oh, my God..." she blurted out under her breath, only realizing now that since he could see, he would be able to see all her shenanigans as well!
She hadn’t brainwashed him enough for him to want to start her own cult!
’Weren’t you trying to help him regain his vision?’ asked the tiny devil on her shoulder. ’Why are you reacting this way? You should be happy!’
’Can’t you understand?’ the tiny angel on the other side tilted her head to look at the tiny devil. ’It’s because the ti they were together while he was blind isn’t enough for her brainwashing! Penny, how about you put a blindfold on him?’
’Isn’t that supposed to be my line?’ the tiny devil wondered, getting a little confused at their roles.
anwhile, Renny and Chunchun, who were still in the room, cocked their heads to the side at the sa ti.
’Even her guardian angel and devil are getting confused,’ Chunchun yawned, feeling sorry for them because of Penny’s fickleness.
Renny, on the other hand, squinted its eyes in happiness. ’I’m so happy for them~! I hope they give extra treats! That Jonathan Pierson’s leg looks juicy!’
Unaware of all of this, the couple stared at each other in silence. Zoren couldn’t help but grin until his eyes looked like re slits, keeping his arm securely around her. Penny, on the other hand, was going through ten levels of hell and heaven all at the sa ti in the span of minutes.
Should she stay and cuddle, forgetting about the scribbles on her face?! Or should she just get rid of them quickly and then jump on him?!
"Gosh..." she sighed in defeat. "Having a handso husband does have its downsides, huh?"
One of them was, it made her weak!
"Renren, can you really see ?" she asked, her lips starting to quiver as he nodded. "Really?"
"Yes." He nodded. "I can see you, Penny."
"Ah, Renren!!!" Penny wailed as the reality fully sank in. Without a care, she threw herself at him and hugged him as tightly as she could. "You really can see now?! Really?! Oh, my God! Thank God! Huhuhu! Goodness! I was so scared!!"
To her surprise, with such happiness in her heart, she started tearing up. All kinds of emotions swelled in her chest, making her wail and pat him on the back.
Zoren chuckled, letting his wife express her happiness... until he felt her hold get tighter and tighter. He clasped her waist a bit, feeling his breathing constrict.
"Huhuhu!" Penny continued to cry like a child. "My husband can see now! For the first ti—oh, my God! The Heavens really hadn’t forsaken us!"
"Uh—" Zoren tried to smile, knowing he should be sharing this mont with her. But alas, he was getting suffocated the more he tried to stay quiet.
Thinking that his wife might suffocate him to death, Zoren clasped her waist. He tried waiting for her to let go or notice but to no avail. Using all the strength he had, Zoren suddenly lifted her by the waist.
"Huhu—" Penny’s crying abruptly stopped with his action. She didn’t know what happened until her back landed on the soft mattress, her eyes shaking as she gazed up at the face hovering over her.
"Huh?" Penny blinked, staring at him as his hand rested inches from the side of her head while his other hand remained on her waist.
Zoren breathed in and out heavily in relief. When he stabilized his breathing, a smile crept on his face. Now he could celebrate with her.
"I—"
CLANG!
Whatever Zoren wanted to say halted at the sound of sothing falling. Penny and Zoren intuitively turned their heads to where the sound ca from. As soon as they did, their eyes caught a figure standing by the door, and the paper bag he was carrying now lay on the floor.
Benjamin.
Benjamin stood by the door with wide eyes. He darted between Penny and Zoren, then glanced at their position. Penny was lying on the bed while Zoren was on top of her.
"..." Benjamin suddenly covered his mouth in shock, his eyes shining with what seed to be tears. If one didn’t know better, this scene would easily give the impression that Benjamin had just walked in on his husband cheating!
"Hah!" Benjamin dramatically scoffed, turning to run away from the scene.
Zoren: "Is he crying just now...?"
"Renren, are you sure you didn’t have a history with him?" Penny asked, eyes still on the door. "For so reason, I feel like we were just caught red-handed by the first wife."
