Yeah, I got so tension, Zarian thought.

I know. I’m getting hungrier, Para thought. Please fix that tension of yours while I enter my private space.

Aye, ma’am, Zarian replied.

With Justin gone, Ruvaria turned and looked at Zarian and Para. She freed the wizard-parasite duo with a flex of her power.

Para flipped off the sync and returned Zarian’s brain to its normal hardware capacity. Blood and a few brain bits poured down his nose and dripped over his broken jaw.

Embarrassed by the ss he was making in front of Ruvaria, Zarian reached up for his face, but the well-dressed elf woman appeared before him suddenly.

She put her hands up to his face and gently fixed his jaw back into place for him. She disregarded the blood that stained her hands and looked into his eyes as she helped him.

Para helped fix his jaw further along with his ragged vitality. In that departnt, he would be okay. He was still a ss of a human being, having to suffer a backlash from abusing the power of the Lion Prince too much. But he had a working jaw in only thirty seconds at the very least.

Ruvaria batted her long eyelashes and pouted a little.

“I’m sorry I stepped in,” she said.

“No, no, it was great that you did,” he said hoarsely, feeling a little woozy from the brain overdrive and damage. That part was going to take a little longer to heal. “It would’ve gotten bad if I had to get serious with Three Percent Darkness.”

“It would’ve cost you too much for no actual results,” Ruvaria said. “Regressors like that, especially Champion Rankers, have a way to escape death in case it finds them in the Lesser Realm. Even if you defeated Justin here, the eastern board of the Walled Continent would’ve suffered. Maybe it would’ve affected the world considerably. I’m sure you wouldn’t want that.”

Zarian honestly didn’t want that.

He’d fought three titanic battles in a shorter ti than expected. One with Naomi. One with the Toy Knight 1 of Shadowfell. And that last one with Justin.

Zarian was barely being held together. Para was doing a lot of heavy-lifting for him.

He wasn’t in the mood to shake up the world any further. He could use so ti on a more grounded adventure, honestly. Or to punch down on others weaker than him, but not too weak where it was no fun.

Zarian hugged Ruvaria, cherishing her. As much as she could be a door, she did so much for him it was almost surprising. There wasn’t enough thanks he could give her. All he could do was think of ways to reciprocate.

He gave her a nice and long kiss that made her toes curl and her body lock up. He pulled back and let her lean against him as he looked across the square.

The five elves remained perfectly fine. They had the sa carved talismans Justin had, which granted the elves barriers that had kept them safe from the Champion Regressor’s power.

As of now, all five of the Slayer Scout Masters were frozen, unaware that their summoned regressor was gone. And unaware that their Forever Green Empress, their Chosen One, their greatest elder was having her dark affair right in front of them.

“What did you do with Justin?” Zarian asked.

“I sent him into our direct sun, the Corma Star,” Ruvaria said. “I had to do it with a more personal spell compared to how I handled his arrows. He has powerful enough abilities that would’ve normally negated such tactics. But I’m stronger than him. So I threw him into the sun and forced him to get ejected back to the Greater Realm.”

“Nice.” Zarian looked up at the dimming Corma Star.

Para spoke through the gaps in his body that she held together with her dark red threads. “Are you doing that, Teacher Ruvaria?”

“To the Corma Star? Yes. I imagine you’ve probably figured out how, Para.”

“The Corma Star gives power to the World of Castles and Caverns. Your ti stopping array is draining that power with the world as a dium.”

Ruvaria nodded. “Very good answer. Though, I will admit that the array would’ve been more efficient if it wasn’t for certain … worldly changes to the tectonic plates. Thankfully, I make redundancies with most, if not all, of my arrays for this very reason. It’s a good practice to do so in case the initial effects of the array fail because of unforeseen events.”

Yeah, everybody, you better back-up your arrays with more copies of the sa array in case a rampaging wizard shakes the entire world you want to use when casting a global ti stop spell.

Zarian chuckled, shaking his head. He reached over and rubbed his scarred hand along Ruvaria’s ear, making her shiver.

He kept fooling around with her ear until he was ready to speak aloud so new erging thoughts.

“I imagine the Star Core gives power to the Corma Star just like all the other stars. Everything is centered on the Star Core for multiple realms, hence the na ‘Star System’ instead of its old na as the ‘Alignnt System.’ Without that, this universe wouldn’t have all this magic and what not, I bet,” Zarian said.

He released Ruvaria’s ear so she could pay more attention as he spoke on. “Though, that leaves wondering what happens towards the end of the climb for those who go from zero to hero with little of a big starting point like what I have or like an outsider. Does everyone get their own personal star cores so they beco less reliant on the Star System? My theory for that is based on what’s happening above and how Aura Ignition works, especially the Third Ignition, stability. Am I getting that right? Am I close?”

Ruvaria bead a bright smile, staying silent instead of answering.

Maybe it wasn’t her business to tell the secrets of the Star System. Or maybe she wanted to let Zarian and Para figure it out for themselves.

Still, she glowed like a teacher who was thrilled by the rising intelligence of her star pupil.

The way she could switch from being a lover to being his teacher had Zarian feeling nice. He liked both sides of Ruvaria. Though he probably liked the teacher more. Losing the lover would hurt. But keeping the teacher was the best outco if he had to choose.

Still, he enjoyed the monts where he had both. He’d gone through too much not to have delightful monts like these.

“Well,” he drawled. “I think we should probably stop holding up the world. But … maybe we can take advantage of this.”

Ruvaria tilted her head aside, her long braid swaying behind her. “What do you suggest?”

“First, let show you so techniques from my old world. They are unsophisticated and dumb. But they get straight to the point.”

“I would like to learn. But wait,” Ruvaria said, making Zarian freeze before grabbing her by the waist. “Nothing happened between and the human Justin. I simply watched over his growth decades ago, said a few things to him, and thought little of it. He was like everyone else who grew their power under the dogma of traditional good, becoming zealots and simpletons. Still, he seed to have a bright future.”

Ruvaria sighed, recalling an uncomfortable mory. “Before he selected his option to ascend, he proposed to make his wife and take all the way to the top. He even proposed to be a good father to my family. I rejected, of course, and instead of handling it with grace, he turned on with vitriol before he left.”

Zarian winced, feeling second-hand cringe for Ruvaria while also feeling second-hand embarrassnt for Justin, at least at first. He totally understood where Justin was coming from, though.

The archer was probably an awkward guy who was terrible about voicing his feelings. He’d done everything at a dramatic mont that was a little too late. Then his ego had crumbled from getting rejected and he relied on rage instead.

Zarian could understand, even if he couldn’t condone that behavior.

Still, Zarian could almost feel so kindred spirit with Justin for a few seconds. As if he was commiserating with the awkward guy before Justin beca a raging jerk after getting rejected.

Then the wizard shrugged it off.

He took Ruvaria over to the corner for a quick lesson on doggy-style while standing, which wasn’t as sophisticated as so of the elven bed arts she’d shown him. Admittedly, going at things with a more primitive angle was fun though, especially since he had to hold her off her feet and treat her like an object. She was very short, after all, so it was a given.

She didn’t seem to mind being his toy, and she turned out to be a quick and enthusiastic learner. She voiced how she liked the simplicity in between screaming his many nas such as Dark Lord, Dark Saint, or whatnot.

He called her the Chosen One while he gripped her large braid in one hand, held her hip with his other hand, and wrapped up her torso with his tail, ensnaring her completely for maximum leverage and fun.

There was sothing satisfying about being the Dark Lord while fucking the Chosen One. Zarian couldn’t put his finger on why, though.

Once they finished, Zarian pulled out a bean bag chair from Para’s pocket dinsion and laid Ruvaria on it. Then he took a simple and common stool out of the pocket dinsion.

He placed it down to the side of Ruvaria. While she enjoyed the afterglow, he turned his attention to his stockpile of notifications and focused on his gains. His tail swayed from side to side behind him with mounting excitent.

He was ready to embrace his changes.

He wanted to do it now to let go of the worldly madness he’d gone through since Grimrock. He wanted to chill out and place his attention on his friends while studying his grimoires like a classical wizard.

Ruvaria didn’t seem to mind waiting for him. Even when her array turned one of the two suns darker and darker.

“You’re right, Para,” Zarian said.

His parasitic companion slowly edged out of her private space in his mind. She spoke through the threads that were holding his body up. “Hm?”

“I like dominant won who can flex their stuff,” Zarian said, glancing down at his marriage ring. “I like them a lot, even if they can be annoying sotis.”

“As long as you are happy to have a preference and will not deny yourself release from your tension for too long,” Para said. “Now, shall we look at our notifications before Ruvaria drains the power of the sun and turns the world darker?”

“Yeah, sure, let’s do that.”

Zarian paused the review to enjoy the mont.

He also waited to watch Ruvaria slip off the bean bag chair and dawdle over to him. She sat in his lap with a warm smile and reddened cheeks. She wriggled around there, making herself comfortable.

A few ntal nudges from Para helped Zarian stay focused. He didn’t allow the naughty, sun-draining, world-stopping elf from distracting him.

It wasn’t easy, but the gains ca first now that he was fully acknowledging them. Especially when he saw he had so long awaited advancents he needed to check firsthand.

The unfortunate part was how Gator and Morph ca out with little growth from the past ten days. But Zarian figured once he cald everything down and switched to grimoire studies, he could work on those two more intentionally.

Either way, he hurried to check out the advancents because Para was growing super impatient.

She was going to advance at Level 100!

What’s going to happen to ? What’s going to happen to us? Para rambled inside their mind.

Zarian continued the review.

He imdiately noticed no advancents from Overwhelming Darkness and Lion Prince. That was to be expected.

Those two were ultra bloodline skills, and they were as powerful as they could be at the mont. At least based on the information Zarian currently had.

That was not the case for Para and the other advancing skills.

“Oh, shit,” Zarian said.

“Uh. Uh. Uh. Zarian,” Para said. “I can feel it happening and not happening. Don’t stop. Please continue. I’m in the middle of the advancent!”

“How curious,” Ruvaria said, switching from flirty lover to exquisite researcher.

Nevermind the blackening Corma Star above. She would drain a whole star of its power just to stop ti and watch Zarian and Para’s growth.

Zarian hurried things along while flipping the notifications around. He figured it was more important to leave Para’s changes to the end.

So he went for the achievents next, then personal level, then personal growth, and finally ability advancents.

Achievent Rewarded! Survivor of a Champion Regressor (Unopened)!>

Three rolled up scrolls fell from the air.

Ruvaria caught them with her hands and gave them a scan. Her eyes widened. “Wow, these are powerful scrolls. More than anything I’ve gotten in my early years. You continue to impress , dear student.”

“Happy to do so, dear teacher.” Zarian nodded curtly as he moved on.

He dumped the Free stats equally on Wonder and Mysticism. He moved on to the next.

“Oh damn, oh damn, oh damn,” Zarian muttered.

Ruvaria kept studying him curiously as the Corma Star beca even blacker.

Zarian had no idea how long it would take one of the two suns to return to its full glory. He imagined he would get blad for that.

That was okay. He was the Dark Lord. He would own up to it later. The blackening sun was the least of his concerns.

Para couldn’t even speak. She was in the middle of an evolution that would make a vast change for her and for Zarian.

With nothing else in the way, Zarian dove into the new descriptions and options from his advanced abilities, starting with Aura Transcendence and ending with Parasite Phantom.
