Chapter 46: Star-Eyed Girl!

Arthur’s legs felt heavy and his vision started to blur.

"Shit! Not again!" Arthur exclaid as he swiftly unsheathed his small dagger and threw it between the eyes of the deer. The deer turned into a black mist, and the dagger flew right through, lodging in the thick trunk of the grand tree.

"Where did he g-" In an instant Arthur was flown through the air, crashing into one of the walls, which caused the tree trunk wall to cave in.

"-GACKH!"

Arthur’s breath beca heavy as blood dripped down one of his eyes. His left eye was completely covered in blood, narrowing his vision. Even still he was now seeing what sent him crashing into the wall. The face of a deer. It stood on two legs and its body was huge and muscular, disproportionate to its lower body. It had four limbs and at the end of each limb were hooves. Its skin was black and its underside was a lighter shade. Its eyes were red, and the it had antlers that were as thick as a sturdy tree branch. An animal? No...this was a monster and this monster’s snout was heavily breathing. One thing was for certain, it was angry, and Arthur was going to feel the full force of its anger.

"What...the hell even is that?! There’s no way thats the sa deer as before...shit!" Arthur exclaid as the deer went on all fours, ready to charge, much like a bull. Its right rear leg was kicking the ground and could charge at Arthur at any ti.

His body was badly injured from a singular blow. Arthur felt that at least two of his ribs had broken, and his right hand was completely out of use for now. On top of this, his legs were shaking, he could barely move them.

"What the hell can I do?!" Arthur thought to himself, desperate to think of a way to survive.

The beast charged at him fast, and it beca so heavy that it left deep, cracking footprints on the floor.

Arthur stretched out his left arm, his palm wide and facing the charging monster.

「Свет, яви мне свою величайшую волю. Гори ярче и сияй!」

A huge blinding light ca out of Arthur’s palm, effectively making the deer’s vision completely white as it was charging straight. It lifted up its two front legs and started to whinny, and then the black deer frantically panicked, running off centred, head-first, the deer slamd into the wall made of tree trunks. A huge black smoke started to form where the deer had crashed.

"A sound of a horse?" Arthur questioned in his mind. "Agh!" Arthur clutched the side of his right arm with his left hand. "I ain’t got ti to think...gotta get out of here..." Arthur blinked. He opened his eyes.

Standing before him was the muscular deer looming over him. Its eyes were sohow even redder than before, and its teeth bared at Arthur. Its breathing beca even heavier, and with each breath, you could see all the muscles throughout this monsters body contract and expand. Arthur looked up while still sitting against the caved-in wall.

"...shit."

A decade ago

Sowhere far away from the three countries of Vastos, Coldera and Sahrak Darin.

There was a land full of bountiful resources that was unclaid by one singular person simply because she

had not been born yet to conquer. This land had no na, no ruler, no well-developed towns. However, in the future, it will rival the greatest countries in the world and soon after it will be recognised by the whole world.

On the very sa day Arthur was born, another baby was born that would inevitably be involved in the coming fight against the great demon Sedah. The very mont she was born, a great imbalance began in the world caused by both Arthur and her. For the very first ti in the history of humanity, humans had a chance of besting even the gods and that demon.

In a rural village lived that girl destined for greatness. Her pupils were shaped like a star in the night sky. Her

hair was silvery white, like the moon. Her na was-

"-Joanna! Honestly! Quit scoffing your food like that or you’ll choke." Her mom let out a huge sigh.

"Bewf ish fo gooth!" Joanna replied.

"And quit talking with your mouth full! It’s bad manners!" She wagged her finger getting increasingly angrier. "Gosh! Your little sister Alice will learn from you as well. You have to set a good example for her! You’re a big sister now, ok?...Seriously, who do you take after?"

Soon after, Joanna’s father yawned as he made his way down the stairs, his hair was short, brown and ssy. His eyes were as green as an erald and his body was lean and muscular. "Honey...what’s for breakfas-Ah!" His eyes lit up as he could sll sothing delicious.

He rushed quickly and took a seat on one of the four chairs. He grabbed a plate quickly and started wolfing down the at stew and bread.

"Mmf thish ishoo goof!" He exclaid with his mouth full of delicious food.

"...Mhm. Really?" She said with her eyes closed and a smile on her face.

He gulped down his food and looked at his wife. "Yeah, really! This is the best!" He replied back looking up at her with his bright eyes."

"Ah-that makes

so happy."

"I se-"

She then grabbed his face. "I see. I think I found the problem."

The husband’s eyes started to widen. His forehead now sweating, he turned his neck to face Joanna and their eyes t. She could see the fear in her father’s eyes and then quickly glanced away again.

"...wow, this food is so good~" she pretended not to notice her father.

"It’s you, isn’t it?" The mother let go.

"..?"

"The floor...now."

Joanna’s father got out of the chair and knelt on two knees, his head down, and then began his wife’s one-hour scolding.

"Is papa in trouble?" Alice questioned while tilting her head with her arms crossed.

"Yes..he is." Joanna replied, thinking "Ah..it’s probably my fault, isn’t it?" She looked at her father in pity. "Good luck, father."

An hour had passed by...

Alice walked to her dad and started petting him on his head, and tears streaked down his face.

"Ah...I really have the best daughters in the world!"

Quickly, he started to brighten up and eventually stood on his two legs.

"Ah! Joanna, how old are you now?"

"...you seriously don’t know my age. You do know that I am your daughter, right?" She questioned, looking at him with a piercing stare.

"Haha! Of course I know..."

She stared.

"...Seven!" He exclaid, brimming with confidence.

"Eight!" She replied swiftly, shooting down his confidence.

"I knew that...Anyways! How about coming out to hunt with ? It’s about ti I teach you, right?...that is if you want to." He asked, slightly trailing off at the end.

"Hunting...?"
