Chapter 38: A War On Hold!

The sky above Arthur’s head shattered.

He sat up, breathing heavily. Shirtless and clutching his hair. Strangely, he was in bandages. Sothing soft had brushed against him.

Chronos opened the door to do his daily checkup on Arthur. There he saw Arthur, sat up, and finally awake!

"Arthur! Your finally awa-"

Chronos paused for a mont. He saw an unconscious, half-naked woman cuddling Arthur. He slowly walked back out and closed the door...

He stretched out his hand frantically, "Ah! Wait! Chronos! I can explain!" Arthur couldn’t explain.

Arthur turned to the long black-haired woman. She was drooling and staining the sheets.

"...cute," Arthur said quietly. "No! Wait! Wait! It’s her...that goddess! Shit!" Arthur jumped out of bed.

Amygdala then sat up slowly, rubbing her eye, clutching the bed sheets so that her chest was covered. She then tilted her head, looking at Arthur.

"G-g-good morning...dear husband." she quietly spoke with her cheeks a little red.

"H-h-husband?!?" Arthur backed away.

Arthur then dashed out of the room. There he spotted Kagekawa! He ran to him.

"Huh, Arthur? You’re finally awake!"

"Kagekawa! That crazy woman! She’s going to kill !"

"Crazy woman? Arthur, what are you talking about?"

"I’m telling you that she is going to kill !"

Amygdala wrapped herself around the bed sheets to cover herself. She then walked out, following behind Arthur.

"Do you an that woman behind you?"

Arthur turned his head to see Amygdala, nodding his head as he was now too scared to speak. He clutched onto Kagekawa.

"Please do sothing!"

Amygdala tilted her head. Her face was confused.

"Haha! Why are you so frightened, Arthur? Isn’t she your wife?"

"M-my wife..." Arthur then rembered back to when he was still trapped in those nightmares. He did promise to take her on as his wife.

Kagekawa folded his arms. "She ca knocking at our house in the middle of the night and introduced herself as your lover. It was strange but who am I to turn away a woman that loves you? Haha! Anyways, she then went to your room and stayed with you all night. I guess you could say...love woke you up! Haha!"

Arthur turned to Amygdala, who was gently clinging to his clothes.

"..."

"Arthur, you didn’t forget our promise, right?" She tilted her head, wearing a scary smile.

"Of course not! Haha!" Arthur puffed out his chest. He broke into a nervous sweat.

"Good!" She let go and then clasped her hands together. "Ah! I have to get prepared for the wedding ceremony! Kyahhh!"

Amygdala ran off.

"Huh. She’s gone? Phew!" Arthur let out a sigh.

"Hey Arthur! You shouldn’t look so happy with her leaving! That’s your wife isn’t it?"

"Well, about that..."

Arthur told Kagekawa all his experiences up until he woke up.

"I see. Well, there is so good news.

"What do you an?"

"The war between Vastos and Coldera has been postponed and we have more ti now. At least, thats what I think. Arthur, how long do you think you’ve been asleep for?"

"I’m not sure. It felt like an eternity experiencing all those nightmares, but it couldn’t have been that long in the real world, right?"

"Eight months since you fell unconscious."

"Eight?! How has the war not already started? What happened?"

"The kings have beco hesitant to attack each other."

"What do you an? Why?"

"Three months after you fell unconscious, Sedah had appeared in front of the King of Vastos."

"The king?! Why?!"

"Sedah had entered his throne room in broad daylight. Now, of course, there were rows of knights, but they were all paralysed. Unable to move. Sedah walked up to the King and declared he’d destroy this world in one decade."

"A decade? What the hell is he thinking?!"

"I heard a similar story happened in Coldera. Arthur, I can’t even begin to grasp Sedah’s thoughts. However, I know he’s not a man to make empty threats. He’s seriously planning on destroying this world."

"Man? No, he’s not a man. He’s a demon! A demon that I’ll kill!"

"I have high hopes that you will. Arthur, you must develop and deeply understand this power that resides within you. You just might be potentially humanity’s strongest hope against Sedah."

"...Shun! I rember him being talked about by you when I was a kid. How strong is he?"

"Shun?! No, he’s too unreliable. A lab experint that turned him into Coldera’s dog. A mindless monster with an insatiable appetite for blood. That’s all he is now. Truthfully, I have no idea if he ever even completed his contract. I do know one thing, the life he led hasn’t been a pleasant one."

"Then let’s help him," Arthur said with a strong conviction.

"Help him? Arthur, I’m glad you feel that way. Unfortunately, there’s no helping him. Since he was a child all he’s ever known was how to kill. He thrives off murder. Anyway, I believe the king of Coldera is planning to attack regardless of these new circumstances. The ti we have is uncertain. However, he will attack."

Kingdom of Coldera,

Coldera’s throneroom

"My king. What do you plan on doing next?" His advisor gave a bow as the king of Coldera sat on his throne.

"My next move. This is tricky...that man. Do you truly believe he can destroy this entire world?"

"I believe that his threat should be taken into consideration."

"So you believe we should back out of this war."

"Back out? Never. However, we should make the kingdom of Vastos believe we will."

"My advisor, Paris. Have you made progress with that demon?"

"Right now, he’s chained up. I imagine he’s going through exceptional pain. His body is responding to the dragon at along with all the other drugs we injected in him." Just then the castle shook!

"An earthquake?!!"

"No, my king. That is Shun."

"Are you sure that beast is completely chained and tad?" The king of coldera grew wary.

"Do not worry, my king; without a doubt, he is tad." Paris bowed and then exited the throne room.
