Chapter 24: Hatred!

Arthur, Baro and Rosianne were on top of the dragon’s back, riding across the vast skies; the cold air brushed their faces. Baro was scared of heights, he felt like vomiting.

"I might throw up...blegh!" Baro had covered his mouth. His face was pale.

"Human! Don’t you dare throw up on my back or I’ll kill you!"

"Dragon girl, I never caught your na?"

"My na is.." The dragon girl rembered Arthur cutting her off when she was going to tell her na to him. "Not telling..." she was very petty.

"Hah? Why?"

"No reason. Just don’t feel like it."

Rosianne had woken up, seeing blue. Completely blue skies. She took a second...

"Where are we?!?"

"On top of a dragon." Arthur replied.

"HAAAAH?! WHAT DO YOU AN ON TOP OF A DRAGON?!?" She clutched her staff. Looking around.

"Ah! Human girl! You finally woke up."

"Who was that?"

"It’s the - blegh!" Baro then pointed down at the back of the dragon, covering his mouth, making sure he didn’t throw up.

"...The dragon speaks?!? Ah! Where’s Craft?"

"...He’s no longer with us anymore."

"Arthur, you don’t an to say that he-"

"He’s dead." Arthur looked down, unable to look at Rosianne.

Rosianne was devastated, trying to catch her breath. She tried to speak. Say anything, but she couldn’t.

"Humans are fragile, small and weak creatures. They live for a very short ti yet they spend their ti despairing over losing another person. I won’t ever understand it." The dragon girl thought to herself.

"Where did you co from, dragon girl?" Arthur grew curious.

"Ah! Enough with the ’dragon girl’." She mocked Arthur’s serious voice. "Call

by na, Lyriana!"

"Lyriana? I see. Lyriana then, where did you co from?"

"Nowhere really. These skies are mine, and I just went down to get so food, but I found you humans stealing my food. I’m still upset!"

"Your skies?"

"Mhm. Do you see any stronger beast that can kill ? A creature soaring these skies that can truly battle ! No? Haha! Then these skies are mine!" She said with pride.

"Wait? Where are we going?" Arthur just wanted to get off the mountain, but it seed that they were very far away.

She ca to a realisation. "Ah! Where are we going?"

"Hey. Are you an idiot or sothing? Don’t bother answering. Stupid dragon girl."

"Arthur’s insults could use so work. Haha..Blegh!" Baro had suggested.

"Anyone who calls soone else an idiot is an even bigger idiot!" Lyriana retorted.

"HAHH! Where’s the logic in that? Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!" Arthur replied.

This went on for quite so ti. Both of them calling each other stupid. They both weren’t very good at insults. However, Baro was relieved; Arthur wasn’t so distant and cold as he thought he was, and it was thanks to Lyriana.

"You guys make for a cute couple! Kyaah!" Rosianne exclaid; she had a tendency to ship people. They both blushed, and steam ca out of both their heads. Flying the rest of the way in silence.

Above forest of Vastos

"Land here! At this forest!" Arthur exclaid. "This is my ho, where

and my master live!"

"You live here?" Baro was confused.

"Yep!" Arthur wore a great big smile.

Lyriana descended, the trees had swayed as she landed. The ground had cracked.

"Follow !" They all got off Lyriana. She then transford, taking on her human form, wearing Arthur’s cloak.

They all followed Arthur back to his ho.

Sedah was sleeping, then he woke up sensing a great magical presence coming towards him. He was getting ready to battle. Strangely, he sensed Arthur too. Still, he grabbed his blade. Walking out of his cave.

"Master Sedah!!" Arthur ran to Sedah. "I’m ho, and I brought my companions with ; they helped

in fighting the S-Class Direwolf."

"Arthur...I’m glad you’re back safe and sound." He then pointed his sword directly at the dragon girl. "Why did you bring this monster here?"

"H-Hey...Arthur just said Sedah, didn’t he?" Baro asked Rosianne.

"Y-Yeah...I think he did. That couldn’t be him...could it?" Rosianne was as confused as Baro.

"Ah! Master! Calm down, ok? She’s strong, I know, but I promise you she’s nice, and you probably already know, because of the tail, but she is a dragon. She helped

so don’t worry about it."

"Arthur. Enough talking." Sedah’s eyes glared at Lyriana. "What’s your na?" his face and voice was filled with resentnt.

"My na is Lyriana." She grinned at Sedah.

"Lyriana, what a sick joke. Tell

your na, before I behead you."

"Master...what are you talking about?"

"Arthur. Listen to . I’ll only say this once. I’m going to kill her. Dragons don’t deserve to live; all of them must go extinct. I thought I had killed every last one of them, but it seems I missed one."

"My true na is Seraphina and I will kill you. Demon Sedah. You killed my parents. My species went extinct when I was just a child. I am the last living dragon, and I promise you that today, you will die."

"Enough. Seraphina...you’ve committed two cris against . First, you adopt a na similar to that of my murdered wife. Second, you were born a dragon. You don’t stand a chance against . I’ll give you one chance to repent for your cris." Sedah threw his sword at Seraphina’s feet. "Kill yourself."

"Master! I don’t know the details, but don’t kill her! Please! I’ve already lost soone I cared for! There must be so kind of misunderstanding!"

Sedah hadn’t heard Arthur’s cries. Hatred and disgust filled his body, drowning out his voice. Killing dragons was ingrained into his mind.

The distance between the two had grown as Seraphina stepped further back.

"Fight ! Seda-" Instantaneously, Seraphina’s head rolled onto the ground, leaving a trail of blood as it stumbled. Her eyes had beco lifeless. Her body fell flat. The edge of Sedah’s hand was covered in blood, it had sliced right through Seraphina’s neck.

The distance closed in just a fraction of a second.

"It’s over." Sedah’s voicd was chilling and as was his eyes.

Baro and Rosianne were in shock.

Arthur had felt a great distance between himself and Sedah. He dropped to his knees. Traumatised.

"W-Why master..?" Arthur glared at Sedah with hatred. "Tell

why!" Arthur had beco angry at his master. His father-figure. He gritted his teeth, firmly clutching the handle of his sword, still sheathed at his side.

"Answer !" Arthur exlaid

Both Baro and Rosianne had beco on guard.
