Chapter 978: The child is not mine, number 4. Chapter 978: The child is not mine, number 4. Arnold Johnson said nothing still, realizing that letting Grand Lady Johnson vent might not be such a bad thing at this mont.

“Over the years, I have fulfilled virtually all of your demands, except for my personal matters of the heart which I have not conceded to you,” Arnold stated calmly, “My feelings and my marriage are my own business, and I definitely will not allow anyone to interfere, not even if Dad and my older brother were alive; my stance is the sa. This has nothing to do with my attitude towards you.”

Grand Lady Johnson certainly understood so of it, but that did not stop her from detesting him.

“You know very well that what I wish the most is for you to marry Chloe, to fulfill her wish over these years and to compensate for the debt I owe her.”

“I am not a tool for balancing the feelings between the two of you,” Arnold said calmly.

He could agree to many things, but he could never consent to sacrifice his lifeti of emotions.

Grand Lady Johnson seed to age rapidly, looking at Arnold’s indifferent yet calm expression, her heart suddenly filled with mixed emotions.

“I will ask you one last ti, is the child in Chloe’s belly really not yours?”

Arnold replied with certainty, “It’s not.”

If it were Arnold’s child, he would definitely acknowledge it; since he didn’t, it obviously wasn’t his.

If it wasn’t Arnold’s, then whose child was in Chloe’s belly? Or perhaps there was no child at all?

“I have already transferred my shares to Chloe, and I do not wish to make further changes to that decision,” Grand Lady Johnson persisted in leaving her vast fortune to Chloe Johnson despite everything.

“The shares are yours; you can leave them to whover you wish, and I will not interfere,” Arnold had never harbored any designs on whatever was in Grand Lady Johnson’s hands.

“I know what I’m doing is very selfish, but I’ve also considered that, even if I give my shares to Chloe, together with my own, they will ultimately not exceed the combined shares of Frank and the Elderly Daughter-in-law,” she admitted.

“However, I must remind you that, with so many shares in Chloe’s hands, if she wants to do sothing or is influenced by others, it could significantly impact the company,” Arnold said earnestly.

Grand Lady Johnson knew sowhat of these risks, yet she might not be fully aware of how dangerous they could be.

At this point, she was an Old Lady ruled by her emotions, growing more partial with age.

Hearing Arnold speak, Grand Lady Johnson remained silent.

Her thoughts were simple; she wanted Chloe, and her descendants, to live comfortably for the rest of their lives.

“Will you tell Frank and the Elderly Daughter-in-law that I transferred the shares to Chloe because she is my biological daughter?” Grand Lady Johnson continued to inquire.

“I won’t, unless you say so yourself,” he replied.

“When you pass the position of Family Head to Frank, will you transfer all your shares to him?” Grand Lady Johnson shalessly asked.

At this ti, Grand Lady Johnson still did not regard Arnold as part of the Johnson Family, yet it was indeed the blood of the Johnson Family that ran through his veins.

“I will transfer a portion and retain a portion; holding a position among the Johnson Family’s shares is necessary for external appearances,” Arnold was not intent on clinging to these assets. It was simply that during the initial stage when Frank Johnson was taking over entirely, there would be so instability, “Once Frank has taken full control for three years and if the situation is stable, I can transfer all my shares to Frank.”

This was, indeed, his candid confession to Grand Lady Johnson.
