The only thing Arnold Johnson had done that Victoria Garcia could not accept was that Victoria’s mom had died because of it.
As a woman, even if showered with imnse affection, one could never accept being soone else’s replacent, especially soone as rational as Victoria, who couldn’t tolerate even a grain of sand in her eye.
“If there’s anything I can help you with, just tell ,” Alexander said calmly, “Don’t think it’s troubleso to ask for my help.”
The matter concerning Victoria’s mom was also a hurdle Alexander couldn’t get over in his heart.
“Thank you, Alexander,” Victoria replied softly.
Such a good person, she couldn’t possibly let Alexander suffer a career setback because of her, knowing the extent of Arnold Johnson’s reach.
If Alexander were to step in and help, given Arnold’s tactics, he would surely make it impossible for Alexander to survive in the political arena. It had taken Alexander so much effort to stabilize his position; if he were to fall into an abyss because of her, how could she allow that to happen?
Alexander seed to understand Victoria’s thoughts, and said calmly and firmly, “I’m not afraid of Arnold Johnson, even if it ans losing my job, it’s not the end of the world.”
Upon hearing him say that, Victoria smiled reassuringly and said, “Alright then, I’ll definitely reach out to you for help when the ti cos.”
Following that, Victoria asked, “How have you been recently? Are you still in touch with Miss Field?”
“Well, I’m planning to propose to her, but she hasn’t agreed yet,” Alexander replied with a wry smile.
Hearing this news made Victoria genuinely happy; Alexander finally knew what kind of woman was suitable for him.
What lay between her and Alexander, however, was now impossible.
“Keep at it, she’ll agree to you, and besides, she loves you so much,” Victoria said with a smile.
Alexander responded with a smile, “I know.”
The two chatted casually for a bit more before Victoria took her leave from Alexander.
As for his inquiry about whether she would attend tomorrow’s wedding, she smiled and replied, “Of course I will!”
Alexander said his goodbyes and then drove away from Victoria’s place.
So things, after all, arrive too late.
Whatever was between him and Victoria could never return to the beginning.
However, to be such good friends wasn’t too bad.
At the very least.
They had both matured.
And that innocent affection was the most beautiful adornnt of life.
When Victoria returned to her room, her sisters were still waiting in the living room.
Without waiting for her sisters to speak, Victoria said directly, “No need for gossip, I’m exhausted tonight, I need to rest well and get ready for battle tomorrow.”
With that, she left her sisters with bewildered faces and headed straight to her room.
“What… What’s this about?”
“This doesn’t feel right; did sothing happen?”
“Probably not. Maybe Alexander is just having a hard ti letting go, or maybe they got sentintal sharing old mories, after all, she’ll be soone else’s bride tomorrow.”
The three sisters guessed wildly among themselves but respectfully refrained from disturbing their older sister any further.
With a tough battle ahead tomorrow, Hannah Garcia yawned and said, “I hope to et my God at my sister’s wedding tomorrow. I also need to get a good night’s sleep and dress up beautifully to bump into him.”

At that mont, Alia Wilson and Evelyn Garcia simultaneously thought about the possibility of Henry Campbell and Frank Johnson showing up tomorrow.
Suddenly, both of their moods took a turn for the worse!
