Chapter 671: A little white flower Chapter 671: A little white flower In the hospital, after a day and night of turmoil, Chloe Johnson finally opened her eyes.
Arnold Johnson stood by her bedside and, seeing her wake up, only said one thing: “Don’t you know that you’re allergic to black tea?”
Chloe’s allergy to black tea was known to everyone in the Johnson Old Mansion, and no one had ever dared to give her anything related to black tea.
“Arnold, I know that I’m allergic to black tea. I never thought that the Clear-Braised Red-Braised Pork in this hospital was made with black tea soup as one of its seasonings. I was just about to be discharged and wanted to taste the hospital’s food, so I never thought that this would happen.”
Chloe blinked her eyes, looking innocently at Arnold.
Arnold knew that if Chloe insisted, then everything she said was true.
However, he didn’t believe it.
He always felt that Chloe, being so smart and picky, couldn’t possibly have made such a mistake.
Chloe might have noticed Arnold’s disbelief, so she took the initiative to tug at his sleeve, cautiously and gently saying, “Arnold, did I make mom worry and scared again? It’s all my fault. I won’t make such a mistake in the future. Can you forgive this ti, please?”
“Forgive you for what?” Arnold asked coldly.
Chloe explained, “Forgive for my carelessness and greed. From now on, I will make sure to ask if there’s any black tea in the dishes I order. I promise I won’t make that mistake again.”
Seeing her solemn promise, Arnold felt that Chloe had changed, although he could not pinpoint exactly what had changed at the mont.
Arnold gently moved her hand away, saying, “You should rest. I’ll leave now.”
He didn’t say he would co back to see her.
Chloe’s heart tightened and she said, “Arnold, can’t you stay and keep company for a little longer?”
“There are a lot of things piled up in the company that need to be dealt with. I will co back to see you when I have so free ti. You should focus on recovering, you’ll be better soon.”
Chloe asked again, “Will you move back to the Old Villa?”
Arnold felt the question was too redundant.
“I’ve always been living outside, and it’ll be the sa in the future.”
Chloe insisted, “It used to be because mom and you always fought over , so you lived outside. Now that your relationship with mom has improved, and I promise I won’t let mom argue with you over anymore. Can you move back, please?”
“Chloe, I’ve always treated you like a sister, and you treat mom like your own mother. When I’m not around, you can spend more ti with her.”
Arnold didn’t ntion moving back at all, but indirectly told her that his feelings for her had never been romantic, only brotherly, and that it would always be that way.
“I will spend more ti with mom,” Chloe agreed.
She kept so thoughts to herself, as saying them now would only provoke Arnold.
Apparently, her actions this ti had caused Arnold to doubt her, which was definitely not a good thing. Trying to prevent Arnold from having a chance to be with Victoria temporarily now seed impossible.
Pushing Arnold too hard would only backfire.
She needed to find another way to prevent Arnold and Victoria from developing their relationship further.
