Edward couldn’t help but clear his throat, saying, “I really was frightened by your seriousness just now. It felt like you’d discovered so bad thing I did.”
“It seems that you’ve done so many bad things you’re feeling guilty.”
“The worst thing I’ve done is fantasizing about soone else’s fiancée. Does that count?” Edward looked at her, half-serious, half-joking.
Victoria pretended not to understand and said, “You haven’t told about the phone call yet.”
