Chapter 488: Is my child still here 4 Chapter 488: Is my child still here 4 At this mont, Alexander Mitchell could only pray for everything to go smoothly and healthily, hoping that Aubree Field and the child would be safe and sound. If possible, he would really prefer to live ten years less himself.

Alexander had never been superstitious, but at this mont, he could only rely on gods and Buddha for his faith, hoping that they would protect Aubree and their child from harm.

He finally understood why so people would beco so superstitious. It’s because in tis of despair and helplessness, they had to find sothing to rely on spiritually, just like him now.

“Doctor, will she be okay?” Alexander took a long ti to muster the courage to speak.

The doctor in a white coat glanced at him and said, “We can’t be sure yet, but the situation is not optimistic. The pregnant woman has lost a lot of blood, and the child in the womb is at risk of death.”

“There must be a way to save them, right?” Alexander’s words trembled as he spoke, his heart full of fear.

The doctor looked at him again and calmly said, “Our responsibility is not to give up on any life that can be saved.”

The contrast between the doctor’s composure and his own anxiety was striking.

To the doctor, this kind of situation was all too common, and he had beco numb to it.

But Alexander was different; this was his first experience with this, and he was the main culprit behind it all.

For the first ti, Alexander felt that ti was passing so slowly, and the ambulance was moving so slowly.

Finally, the ambulance arrived at the hospital, and Aubree was quickly wheeled into the Ergency Room. Alexander waited outside the door.

Before entering the Ergency Room, the doctor handed him so papers to sign, asking him if in case both the adult and the child are in danger and only one can be saved – should they save the adult or the child?

Without hesitation, Alexander chose to save the adult. In this situation, Aubree’s life was more important than anything else. If they lose the child, they could always have another one, but if she was gone…

Alexander didn’t want to think about it any further.

Closing his eyes, he really wished this was all just a dream, and that when he opened them, nothing had ever happened.

He rembered Aubree’s expression when she told him she was going abroad.

And her sudden change to a makeup-free look, flat shoes, and replacing coffee with sweet drinks… All these changes were because of the child, yet she didn’t plan to tell him, instead choosing to go abroad to give birth.

Did Aubree’s family know about her pregnancy?

Alexander didn’t know how long he had been waiting; all he knew was that his legs had gone numb.

When the doctor ca out, he stood up and imdiately collapsed.

Seeing this, the doctor stepped over to him.

Alexander anxiously and expectantly asked, “Doctor, how is she?”

“Mr. Mitchell, I’m sorry, but by the ti we got the child, the fetus had already stopped developing,” said the doctor with regret.

Alexander felt his head go numb; this news was too hard to accept. If Aubree knew about this, she might break down!

As if it wasn’t enough to crush him already, the doctor added, “The child was about five months along, a ford baby boy.”

Alexander finally understood what it felt like to be struck by lightning. At that mont, he madly grabbed the doctor’s collar and roared, “Why didn’t you find a way to save him? Why?”

“I’m sorry, we were delayed for too long, the pregnant woman lost too much blood. We also really wanted to save the child,” the doctor replied with a good attitude, understanding that it was normal for a parent to have such an emotional breakdown.
