Chapter 463: It really looks like 4 Chapter 463: It really looks like 4 “Miss Garcia, please don’t misunderstand . I can honestly say that I have no feelings toward Arnold Johnson now. As for the entire Johnson family, I have no particular feelings either. Even if I do, I may have overstepped my boundaries. Living in comfort all these years, I forgot that I was only a guest at the Johnson’s, not truly one of them.” Skylar spoke earnestly.
Victoria finally got the real reason why Skylar ca to her, “Did you co to today, hoping that if the day cos, I could allow you to continue living at the Johnson’s?”
“I know it’s crossing a line on my part. I shouldn’t have such a thought. But I always tend to oversimplify things, and years of keeping myself away from social interactions made even more naive.”
Skylar laughed softly, “But I understand your position now, Miss Garcia. Rest assured, if such a day really cos, I won’t embarrass you.”
“As for where you two will end up, I won’t interfere. Since it was Arnold who let you in, he will find his own way.”
“Yes, I ca to you today because I’ve thought a lot. I’ve long lost interest in Arnold, but I’m still grateful for his life-saving kindness back then. I’m delighted that he found soone he genuinely likes. That’s why I ca to tell you what I know with utmost sincerity. I want you to understand that Arnold is not the kind of man who flits from one woman to another.”
Hearing her seemingly heartfelt words and sincere attitude, Victoria began to question herself. Was she being too suspicious? Or was she instinctively repelling won who had connections with Arnold?
“I’m glad you feel that way, and thank you for sharing all of this with today.” Victoria thanked her sincerely.
“Unfortunately, I may have to excuse myself if there’s nothing else important to talk about. I have an important eting to attend soon.”
Skylar responded, “In that case, you can go ahead with your work, Miss Garcia. We can chat more the next ti we et.”
“Alright, goodbye!” Victoria stood up, said her goodbye and left the Coffee House.
Skylar remained seated, stirring her coffee. As she sipped it, a smile crept up to her lips. “The taste is bitter, but the sweetness after the bitter is quite pleasant.”
A faint smile appeared on her lips. It was completely different from the smiles she had shown before.
When Victoria returned to her office, she found it hard to focus on the eting. Skylar’s words continued to circulate in her mind:
She and Skylar had similar features.
She and Leah Chester had similar lips and chin line.
Or did both of them resemble her?
Or did all three of them resemble another woman? If there was another, where was she?
If that was the case, why hadn’t Arnold told her?
Did he think it was unnecessary because she was only his trophy wife, who just happened to look like soone else?
But if it was true, Victoria wouldn’t marry him. Why should she marry a man who didn’t love her for who she was? If this was her fate, she would prefer to end her three years as his mistress and bid him farewell for good!
