“I’m just helping you reclaim what rightfully belongs to you,” holding his calm, Arnold Johnson replied.
“Is that so? What about the Crystal mine? Was it thrown in as a bonus when you bought the other two mines?” Victoria’s voice was laced with distrust.
Arnold Johnson chuckled and nonchalantly replied, “It just so happened that I noticed that particular mine. Knowing that it is rich in crystals, which may not be precious but sell for a good price, I thought about the demands of the young market in tropolis and decided to get it for you as well; now you can tap into that market. Isn’t that great?”
The task he set out to do for her wasn’t rely to satisfy her; he wanted to pave a path right to the end.
Since she had accepted Arnold’s terms from the beginning, he decided if he was going to buy her a mine, he might as well make it a good one. It was just pocket change for him, anyway.

“I’m curious, how did you get these two mines?” Victoria knew that Arnold Johnson was not a man to conduct a losing business, not because he was unwilling to spend money, but because he refused to spend any unnecessary pennies.

Of course, he didn’t tell Victoria that from the mont he first laid eyes on her, he had begun to investigate Turner Brown, his wife, and Victoria’s father and stepmother. Ownership of these two mines had changed hands three months ago and he was just waiting until this day to see her sign the contract.

Victoria turned her head, wanting to ask him why he was so kind to her, but when the words reached her mouth they turned into, “Why are you interested in ?”
Arnold’s gaze t hers, neither looking away.
“Because of your beautiful appearance.”
As he said it, there seed to be a gleam of humor in Arnold’s eyes, and Victoria wondered if she was mistaken.
“There are many won in tropolis and other countries who are more beautiful than , who have a better figure than mine. Why ?” In her eyes, there was a stubborn gleam.
In her mind, she couldn’t understand why Arnold Johnson, of all people, would pour so much energy into her. She refused to believe it was rely for her looks.
After a mont’s silence, Arnold eventually spoke, his voice hoarse as if trying to control sothing.
“What if… it’s because of your love?”
Victoria responded with a faint smile, her eyes softening, showing a hint of girlish tenderness as she asked, “So, Arnold Johnson, feared and respected by everyone in tropolis, has fallen in love with ?”
Even if it were true, Victoria doubted she would believe it. She preferred to think that this was all a ga to win over a beautiful woman.
However, Arnold didn’t hesitate to nod, “Yes, that’s right.”
After a mont of stunned silence, Victoria burst into laughter, lightly saying, “Then, you must have fallen for my beauty!”
Her playful defiance ca out of nowhere. When she laughed, a small dimple appeared at the left corner of her mouth. Arnold found himself defenseless against her charm at that mont. He restrained himself for a while before discarding the idea of claiming her as his own once and for all.
