As for the raise in salary, she had to work to earn it.
“General Garcia, considering I’ve been with you for three years, I’m only asking you to help this once. After this, I won’t bother you again. Can you do that?” Lucy persisted in begging him.
Terry Garcia had never been a generous man, especially towards won he wasn’t interested in.
“I think you should understand that with your work ability, receiving such a generous salary is already a considerable favor. I’ll grant you one last privilege – collecting three months’ salary in advance from the Finance Departnt.”
Having said that, he left without any hesitation.
Lucy also knew that pursuing him further would only humiliate herself. Moreover, Clara Brown would soon arrive and once Human Resources sends notifications to the entire company, her request for three months’ salary in advance would beco a joke.
All kinds of bitterness and resentnt welled up inside her.
Just as Lucy was preparing to leave Terry Garcia’s office, the receptionist ca in with so letters and greeted her with a smile, “Lucy, you’re here too.”
Lucy forced her voice to sound normal, “I just reported so work to General Garcia. He just left for a eting, and I organized so materials afterward.”
“I’m here to deliver a courier to General Garcia.” The receptionist girl smiled innocently.
Lucy took the courier out of habit, “Give it to .”
Without overthinking, the receptionist handed over the courier to Lucy, who was a higher-ranking senior secretary. The receptionist said goodbye politely, then left Terry Garcia’s office.
When Lucy was about to put the courier on her desk, a thought suddenly ca to her mind: Could there be any insider information about the company in these letters? If so, she could sell it to a competitor for a substantial amount of money, and then move overseas, never to return.
With that thought, Lucy was completely bewitched.
Lucy’s hand reached for the courier. She opened one, only to discover it was not a docunt but a small USB flash drive inside.
Curious, Lucy turned the USB flash drive a couple of tis and put the courier back on the office desk. She then went to her desk with the USB flash drive.
She had to verify what was on the drive, but her intuition told her it had to be useful. She was sure she could get what she wanted from it.
The company office was open yet separate, and her seat was by the window. Unless soone ca over, no colleagues would be able to see her computer screen.
So Lucy plugged in the USB flash drive feeling assured, and excitedly opened it.
The images that popped up left her with her eyes wide open.
Never in a thousand guesses would she have expected the video to be of Clara Brown and two n in passionate action. Clara Brown was literally a debauched whore in the video.
After watching so clips, Lucy quickly removed the USB flash drive, carefully put it in her bag, picked it up, and left the office.
As she was leaving, she saw Clara Brown’s figure walking towards the other side from the corner of her eye, followed by the assistant manager of Human Resources.
Things were moving quite fast. It seed the assistant manager still feared Terry Garcia; otherwise, they could have simply sent an email to deal with her and Cindy Moore.
