Chapter 169: An inexplicable force 2 Chapter 169: An inexplicable force 2 Jas seed to avoid Victoria Garcia’s gaze, but he had no choice but to answer, “It has happened once, but then Headquarters did allocate the money eventually.”

“In the past six months, money from Headquarters always arrives late, and the workers often have to wait for about ten to fifteen days to get their wages,” Jas said with so difficulty. “This ti, we can delay payday by another half a month, like we did before.”

“You go back first. I’ll take care of the funding,” Victoria replied.

As soon as Jas left, Candy Foster walked in.

“Any progress on your investigation?” Victoria asked directly.

Candy shook her head, “I haven’t found out who is spreading the rumors. Everyone in the factory is waiting to see what happens with the payroll and bonuses. If they are paid in full, so people will naturally co forward. But if there’s a problem with payout, I fear there might be a strike.”

Next, Candy added, “Technicians from the new machinery producer in tropolis are checking the cause. Once they identify the problem, they’ll know where it originated. I suspect that this isn’t a technical problem, but a man-made one.”

Victoria agreed, “That’s what I think too. Once we find the person who tampered with the machinery, we’ll naturally find who is causing trouble behind the scenes.”

Thinking about the wage issue, Candy couldn’t help but worry for Victoria, “Should I ntion the funding matter to Director Johnson?”

Victoria shook her head, refusing, “Let figure out another solution first. I don’t want to disturb him if I can resolve it. Understand?”

She was warning Candy not to ntion it to Arnold Johnson without her knowledge.

“I understand,” Candy responded.

Victoria picked up a folder from the table and told Candy, “I have so things to take care of. If anything happens at the factory, keep updated through the phone.”

“Do you need to accompany you?” Candy asked.

Victoria declined, “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”

“But, I promised Director Johnson that…”

Victoria imdiately interrupted her, “You listen to Director Johnson, but what about ?”

Left with no choice but to agree and unable to voice her struggle, Candy could only watch as Victoria left her sight again.

Candy thought she should at least inform Arnold Johnson. If Victoria were to run into trouble, Arnold would surely bla her.

After Victoria left, she phoned Alexander Mitchell. After three rings, he finally answered.

“Hello!” Alexander’s voice sounded a bit hoarse.

Victoria held a folder in one hand and the phone in the other and said, “We talked about the plan for the Old Factory last ti. I have it here. Is it convenient for to deliver it to you?”

“I’m at Green City Restaurant now. Co over, I’ll wait for you here.”

“Ok, please wait a mont.”

“See you later.”

Victoria replied, “See you later.”

After hanging up the phone, she drove straight to Green City Restaurant.

When Victoria arrived at Green City Restaurant, it was already three in the afternoon. She entered the room number that Alexander had texted to her on her phone.

She adjusted her clothing slightly before knocking on the door.

The door opened quickly to reveal Alexander. He was as handso as ever, but a little thinner than when she had seen him a few days ago.
