Jolson was the sa as before, unchanged, his skin and expression under the light just like the few tis she had seen him.
Hannah Garcia had once been curious what Jolson would look like during the day.
Unfortunately, she had never seen Jolson by daylight.
“Kevin King said you wanted to see , what’s the matter?” Jolson took the initiative to speak.
Standing in front of him, Hannah Garcia was not at all uneasy. The words she had been brewing in her heart for a long ti, she now voiced one by one, “Jolson, I’d like to discuss sothing with you.”
Jolson looked at her without interrupting, waiting for her to continue.
“I want to back out of our deal. I can compensate you for all your losses, and I hope you can agree to my request,” Hannah Garcia said without beating around the bush, making her intentions known right away.
After hearing her words, Jolson’s expression didn’t change; he just quietly watched Hannah Garcia, saying nothing.
Seeing him silent for a while, Hannah Garcia continued to try, “I know it goes against the principles of a deal for to back out halfway, but I still brought it up, hoping you can understand.”
“Why do you want to back out? Don’t you want revenge anymore?” Jolson finally spoke.
Hannah Garcia replied, “That’s not it, I just think revenge can be taken slowly.”
“Is it because you’re thinking of doing it slowly on your own, or because you have a new backer who can help you with this?” Jolson’s sharp eyes seed to pierce through Hannah Garcia, as if seeing through everything about her.
Hannah Garcia did not like this unfriendly gaze.
Jolson did not look away despite her dislike of his gaze, and continued, “Your eldest sister, Victoria Garcia, is now out of danger, and your Sister Evelyn Garcia is also free from danger at the mont. So, you don’t want to deal with anymore, is that it?”
“How do you know my eldest sister and Sister are out of danger?” Hannah Garcia blurted out.
“Of course, I know.”
“If you know, then why are you only telling now?” Hannah Garcia pressed with another question.
Clearly, Jolson had not shared all the information he knew with her; he might even have been using her lack of news to exploit her desire for revenge.
“Aren’t I telling you now?” Jolson saw no problem with this.
Hannah Garcia looked at him, unable to discern anything about Jolson, as if she had never known his true nature.
At first, she must have been crazy to have entered into a deal with soone like Jolson.
“Although your two sisters being out of harm’s way doesn’t have much to do with , I have been continuously tracking this information. At least I haven’t violated the principles of our original deal, have I?” Jolson looked at her with a smirk.
Hannah Garcia, watching his smile, asked him, “What will you do if I want to quit the deal?”
“Originally, to fulfill our deal,” Jolson answered without hesitation.
Biting her lip, Hannah Garcia spoke candidly, “I don’t want to kill for you.”
“That’s not what you told at first, Miss Garcia!” Jolson looked at her with that sa amused expression.
Hannah Garcia disliked his smile; it made her feel as though he was plotting sothing, or there was a deeper connotation she didn’t understand.
Jolson watched her as if she were his prey, her every move unable to escape his eyes…
