47: Chapter 47: Couples’ Restaurant
After sending off Director Ma and his family, Wu Xiaoyu was imdiately questioned by Zhou Dong about Bai Yun.
Although he’d only t Bai Yun a few tis, today he was unexpectedly drafted as her boyfriend.

But he was indeed conflicted inside; he was just an up-and-coming butcher and didn’t want to get involved in these rich families’ ssy affairs.
Zhou Dong sneered at him but then seriously suggested, “Why don’t I go with you tonight?”

Wu Xiaoyu had to explain their relationship again, insisting that although he helped Bai Yun cover a small issue today, he didn’t want to be involved any further.

The sun set, the evening enveloped the city, and the moon slowly climbed up the branches, stars beginning to twinkle.
Wu Xiaoyu and Zhou Dong drove to Yueda Western Restaurant.
As soon as they entered, a waiter approached them, looking a bit confused and awkward.
After a long silence, the waiter asked if they had a reservation.
Wu Xiaoyu showed the table number Bai Yun had sent him, and they were led to a corner spot.
They sat down and waited for about ten minutes, still no sign of Bai Yun, “Did she stand us up?”
“Hopefully!” As soon as Wu Xiaoyu said this, Bai Yun walked in.
Seeing two guys at the reserved table, she was instantly annoyed.
Are you kidding ?
I invited you to dinner, and you bring soone else along?
And a guy at that!
Are you two boyfriends or sothing?
Bai Yun walked over, visibly displeased.
Neither of them moved to help her with the chair.
“Sorry I’m late!” Bai Yun said unapologetically, as if it was natural for them to wait for her.
Wu Xiaoyu gestured that it was no big deal, while Zhou Dong sneakily observed her, wondering if she had feelings for Wu Xiaoyu.
After ordering, Bai Yun stared seriously at Zhou Dong and said, “Hi, I’m Bai Yun!”
Her tone suggested she was trying to drive him away, but Zhou Dong, thick-skinned, smiled and said, “I know, Xiaoyu ntioned you!”
“Huh?
What did he say about ?” Bai Yun asked curiously.
Afraid that Zhou Dong would start matchmaking, Wu Xiaoyu quickly interrupted, “We haven’t even t that many tis, what could I say about you?”
Bai Yun pouted, “But you are my boyfriend!
You kissed
at noon, and now you deny it?”

Wu Xiaoyu thought as he saw her thick-skinned nature.
“I was forced to help you at noon, alright?
Besides, it was all your act, I barely said anything and never admitted to being your boyfriend!” Wu Xiaoyu said after thinking it over.
Seeing his embarrassnt, Bai Yun continued, “But you didn’t refuse or deny it either!
Why don’t you just be my boyfriend?”
As Zhou Dong took a sip of water, he almost choked on her words.
Damn it, being the third wheel here is useless!
“Hey, beautiful, don’t believe what I said at noon!
Even though he looks sturdy, he’s actually small and can’t last long!

Don’t disturb other guests!”
“Alright, I understand!” Bai Yun said, covering her mouth to stifle her laughter.
After a while, she added, “I’ll explain everything to my grandfather, so you won’t have to pretend to be my boyfriend anymore!”
Zhou Dong stopped his act, saying, “Oh co on!
You should’ve said that earlier, and I wouldn’t have had to pretend to be gay!”
“You know, you two actually do look like a gay couple!
I’ve never seen two grown n having a candlelit dinner together.
Did anyone give you weird looks before I ca in?” Bai Yun laughed.
Wu Xiaoyu then noticed that everyone else around them were couples; they were the only table with three people.
Was this a couples-only restaurant?
“I see why the waiter looked at us like that.
He must’ve thought we were a couple!” Wu Xiaoyu chuckled.
“Anyway, thank you for today!
If it weren’t for you, Qian Benben wouldn’t have believed that I had a boyfriend!” Bai Yun said, raising her glass.
They clinked glasses, and Wu Xiaoyu took a sip of his wine, finding it oddly unpleasant.
How could this stuff be so expensive?
