Scarlett Shaw didn’t respond to the remark but instead asked, "How do you know that Julian Ford and I are in a relationship?"
Anna Ford’s expression froze.
Scarlett continued to press, "Who told you?"
"It’s none of your business, stop probing, and don’t investigate in the future."
Anna did not answer her question.
"I hope this is the last ti we et. After all, ten years ago, the mother-daughter relationship between us ended. You didn’t look for , and there was no need for today’s drama. If you want to hate , go ahead, just pretend I’m dead."
"And—"
Anna Ford spoke with imnse confidence:
"No matter how much you resemble Benjamin Shaw, your blood flows from . No one knows a daughter better than a mother. Scarlett, maybe Benjamin Shaw is truly foolish, but you are not. Being with Julian Ford, pretending to be deeply in love must have been quite tiring, right? But this way, it’s good. The sooner you get what you want and leave, then you won’t have to worry for the rest of your life."
"Scarlett Shaw won’t have to worry for the rest of her life indeed."
The voice was cold, the tone calm.
And the familiar scent Scarlett wanted to embrace.
In the next mont, he hooked her fingers, interlocking them with cool palms.
Julian Ford’s indifferent gaze fell on Anna Ford’s face, still expressionless, but the intense pressure made Anna furrow her brows and retreat.
"Your intelligence network seems inaccurate."
Julian Ford said blandly.
"Scarlett Shaw is soone I have pursued painstakingly and desperately, and between us, I love her more. If she wants money, even if it’s not for a lifeti, but several lifetis, I would be willing."
Such words should feel discordant coming from Julian Ford.
Yet the man’s gaze was as calm as water, even his speech was passionate, his deanor remained cold as ever.
Anna Ford’s pupils flashed, quickly furrowed her brow, scanned the two before her, and finally stopped on Scarlett Shaw’s face, saying solemnly:
"Leave him soon."
Scarlett Shaw tightened her grip on Julian Ford’s hand.
The emotion in Anna Ford’s eyes beca much more complex than before, even lacking the carefree pride.
However, she chose to turn and leave, decisively with no reluctance, and did not look back.
The crowd surged along the street, cars flowed without end.
The wind blew past, spring was in full bloom.
Scarlett Shaw turned sideways, wrapped her arm around Julian Ford’s waist, and hugged him tightly.
He naturally embraced her waist.
Not fervent, not agitated, cold and indifferent, yet Scarlett Shaw felt that this spring was warr than any previous year.
"Obviously it’s seven days."
Stepping back from Julian Ford’s embrace, Scarlett murmured.
Julian Ford lowered his gaze, looked at the tip of her reddened ear, "Hmm?"
Scarlett Shaw raised her eyes, eting his dark eyes, straightening her spine, said: "From the day you said you wanted to pursue , to us dating, it was only seven days, I agreed. No one is easier to pursue than , none of what you said about painstaking pursuit."
Julian Ford held her hand, "So, what’s the matter? Aren’t you usually pretty smart, at tis like these, isn’t that what boyfriends are for, others don’t know the truth."
Scarlett Shaw’s smile, already bright, beca even brighter, "But didn’t you dislike lies from others?"
"You have a good mory."
Julian Ford glanced at her softly.
Scarlett Shaw’s resentful heart brought up old grievances, "Before, you misunderstood for deceiving you, leaving to face the cold wind for hours. Even thought about doing sothing to in the cold wind, and after doing it, you left directly. I’ll never forget it in my life. Julian Ford, you’re really sothing; when it cos to teaching lessons, you’re first, no one dares to take second."
Julian Ford stopped walking, lowered his eyes, and stared at her.
His expression was deep, extrely difficult to read.
Scarlett Shaw now dared more because of Julian Ford’s affection, although she was getting bolder, still knew when to give in.
As soon as she finished these words, she quickly stood on tiptoe and kissed the corner of his lips under his gaze.
Julian Ford seized her waist in response, looking at her, said, "Since you rember it so clearly, as compensation, I’ll allow you to lie to in the future, as long as it doesn’t hurt our relationship."
Scarlett Shaw was startled.
Her gaze fell into his dark eyes, said with unprecedented seriousness, "I won’t."
"No matter when, I won’t lie to you."
She spoke firmly, as if making a vow.
"Aaron Carson has told more than once, you hate being deceived the most, so even if it’s for your own good, I’ll never deceive you."
Scarlett Shaw didn’t finish by saying she thought, Julian Ford must hate lies because soone or sothing had hurt him deeply in the past.
But now, he told her she could lie to him.
Being favored is undoubtedly a joyful thing, but if this joy is built on Julian Ford’s past pain, even if this pain wasn’t caused by her, Scarlett Shaw would rather not have this favor.
"Even if I separate from you in the future, I won’t do things that make you hate ."
A thousand words condensed into this sentence.
Yet, the word ’separate’, deeply felt and painful from the start of their relationship resurfaced. Now, bringing it up again, not only made Scarlett feel a tugging pain, Julian Ford also furrowed his brows, suppressing the surge of pain in his chest.
The atmosphere beca more solemn.
Until Julian Ford led her to the car, Scarlett realized she hadn’t finished saying what she wanted.
"Julian Ford."
The man turned, "?"
Scarlett Shaw: "In front of Anna Ford just now, besides saying you would support for a lifeti, you said one word."
Rather than responding to Scarlett Shaw, Julian Ford said he loves her not rely to stand up for her.
He looked at her, his deanor calm, without any intention to deny what he’d said.
The sudden wave of emotion surged in her throat, Scarlett pulled on Julian Ford’s sleeve, softly said, "To fulfill your wish to support for a lifeti, I will do my best to love you for a lifeti."
In the past, Scarlett Shaw felt promises were unreliable.
Yet, as she spoke the words, she realized that promises were possible because at this mont, love overflowed.
With imnse intensity, she wanted to convey this love to him.
However, in order to keep Julian Ford, this old fox, from getting too proud, Scarlett quickly added, "But if you break the wish first, I will break my word."
The spring light was soft.
Scarlett looked up after speaking, clearly seeing the tenderness in Julian Ford’s eyes.
For the first ti, witnessing him show such an expression.
Scarlett was a bit dazed, muttering, "My mother... Anna Ford seed to make so sense."
Julian Ford pulled her into the back seat, closed the door, held her securely on his lap, pressed her waist, his big hand grasping her neck, prompting her to lower her head and kiss him.
"Which statent?" he asked in a low voice.
"I indeed am after money and looks."
Scarlett Shaw reflected on herself.
Julian Ford chuckled gently, his lips trailing from her mouth downwards, his hand moving up from her waist. Scarlett’s outfit today was loose and easy to undo inside, soft skin enveloped by dry coolness.
The intimate gesture seed to answer her:
Get what you desire.
