Scarlett Shaw was originally conflicted about whether to confront Anna Ford directly, but after being kissed dizzy by Julian Ford, her fears and worries vanished. She even mischievously reached into Julian Ford’s pocket at the end and took out his phone.

Julian Ford glanced down and saw, but didn’t stop her.

Scarlett grabbed his hand to unlock the fingerprint and said, "I need to borrow your phone to ask Ryan Ford if Anna is still in Capitoline."

"Didn’t you et him alone? Why use my phone?"

Julian Ford said.

His tone carried a slight sarcastic edge that wasn’t fully soothed yet.

Scarlett flipped through the contacts with one hand, intertwining her fingers with his on the other, and said with a smile, "I put Ryan Ford on my blacklist. He’ll never co off. I can only use your phone to contact him."

Julian Ford’s cold deanor faded, letting her do as she wished.

Ryan Ford answered the phone quickly. Scarlett heard a obedient voice after a few rings: "Brother."

She raised an eyebrow, pressed the speakerphone, and said, "It’s ."

Ryan Ford paused, "Scarlett?"

Scarlett: "Didn’t you say you’d keep an eye on Anna? How’s it going, any new discoveries? Is she still in Capitoline?"

Ryan was montarily silent, "Didn’t you say you’d only reach out once I contacted you first?"

Scarlett frowned, having a bad feeling, "Ryan, don’t tell you screwed up keeping tabs on her."

Ryan: "..."

It was shaful but undeniable.

Ryan’s expression turned awkward as he admitted, "Lost her."

Scarlett: "..."

Julian, who was listening in on their conversation, was also surprised, a hint of disbelief flashing in his dark eyes.

Ryan, the lawyer, often did unorthodox tasks, frequently dealing with tricky situations. His skills in surveillance were top-notch. If he lost her trail, likely only a few could manage to keep up.

"That woman has strong counter-surveillance awareness."

Ryan’s voice was unusually serious, with a hint of frustration, no doubt bothered by losing her.

Scarlett initially couldn’t tell the truth in Ryan’s words but glanced at Julian’s expression and understood, "Never mind if you’ve lost her, goodbye."

Just about to hang up, Ryan quickly interjected, "Wait!"

Scarlett: "Yes?"

Ryan: "Why are you using my brother’s phone to call ?"

Scarlett raised an eyebrow, a touch of mischievous triumph, "Take a guess?"

"How could I guess?" Ryan felt baffled, "My brother never lets anyone touch his things. Did you steal his phone just to contact ?"

Scarlett: "..."

Ryan: "Scarlett, quickly return the phone to my brother, or else you’ll be in trouble once he finds out."

Scarlett exchanged a glance with Julian, then silently hung up and said to him, "Your brother couldn’t even guess that you and I are together."

"I’ll find a ti to tell him about us. Don’t worry, I won’t let him bother you."

Realizing Scarlett’s intentional setup, Julian went along with her intention.

Scarlett was very satisfied with her boyfriend’s insight, respectfully handing back the phone.

Julian took it, glanced at her, and said, "Ryan wasn’t wrong; I do mind people touching my things."

"Really." Scarlett held his hand firmly, righteously saying, "But I’m not ’people,’ right?"

Julian’s gaze locked on her.

A mont of silence.

Scarlett’s initial confidence weakened under Julian’s gaze, and she softly asked, "Or am I?"

"Yes."

"Yes???" Scarlett’s eyes showed dissatisfaction, her delicate eyebrows knitted, "Julian, explain what you an by that ’yes’."

"Answer to the previous question."

Julian pulled her forward.

"You’re not ’people.’

The man’s crisp voice struck her heart; Scarlett secretly held her breath. This infuriating man truly flirted without knowing it, causing her heart to race and fall for him more each ti.

"I have an important eting tomorrow morning. I need to leave tonight." Standing by the car, Julian said to Scarlett, "You can use this car for the next few days for convenience. Let Aaron know before you return to Capitoline, and he’ll arrange soone to pick it up."

Scarlett nodded obediently, "Okay."

Julian paused, reciting a few numbers.

Scarlett was slightly taken aback, repeating them silently in her heart, realizing it was Julian’s actual birthday.

"Given your recent increasing boldness and penchant for pushing boundaries," Julian said coolly, "this is the password, rember it."

Scarlett’s doe eyes widened, "Your phone password?"

Julian: "Yes."

Scarlett blinked.

Julian: "?"

Scarlett: "Your actions seem to be aiding and abetting."

Julian paused, a subtle curve ford on his lips, a soft "Perhaps."

Scarlett’s eyes brimd with more laughter, and boldly, she said, "Julian, be honest with , are you liking more? Today you told your phone password; will it be your bank card’s password tomorrow?"

Julian looked at her for a mont, then kissed her lightly on the corner of her mouth, saying calmly, "Do you think I’d let feelings cloud my judgnt?"

Scarlett: "..."

This man was always quick to dampen her spirits.

Constantly reminding her to face reality.

However ——

"But you didn’t deny my statent."

Scarlett found a loophole in Julian’s response, her smile deepened, her mood elevated further.

"You only said you wouldn’t let feelings cloud your mind, but I said you are liking more and more..."

"It’s getting late, I must go."

Julian interrupted her, refusing to let her continue, promptly putting her in the car, and driving off toward the airport.

During the journey, Scarlett tried inputting the numbers Julian ntioned, successfully unlocking his phone. Initially, she only intended to try, but suddenly thought of sothing and tapped several tis before placing the phone back in its place.

Julian, driving, caught her small actions from the corner of his eye, "Changing my password?"

Scarlett was montarily stunned, her pupils dilated, "You even guessed that?"

Julian: "Is it hard to guess?"

His tone was calm and assured, as if he had her all figured out.

Scarlett: "If you’re truly that smart, then don’t ask what the new password is."

Julian didn’t reply, took his phone, and with his long fingers swiftly unlocked the screen.

"Forcing my phone password to be your birthday is neither a difficult nor a sophisticated act, right?"

Scarlett: "..."

Julian’s exposure of her little sche made Scarlett so embarrassed that she had little to say until the car drove into Cloud Harbor Airport. When Julian handed her the car keys, Scarlett suddenly realized sothing and perplexedly asked:

"How do you know my birthday?"
