The evening breeze passed by, and Anna Ford also turned away from Benjamin Shaw’s grave.

Scarlett Shaw kept a distance, neither too close nor too far, until they neared the main road and Anna got into a white sedan.

The cetery was remote, and it was New Year’s Eve, so there were very few vehicles on the road.

However, a familiar Cayenne brushed past the white sedan and ca to a steady stop in front of Scarlett.

Ryan Ford had just pressed the brake pedal, his fingers resting on the seatbelt buckle, contemplating what to say on getting out to make Scarlett co with him. To his surprise, in the blink of an eye, the person he was thinking about had already opened the passenger door and willingly sat inside.

"?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow in surprise and delight.

"Follow that white sedan."

After Scarlett had spoken, she added the car’s license plate number.

Ryan didn’t hesitate; almost the instant Scarlett finished speaking, he hit the accelerator, turned around, and followed it. Once he maintained a reasonable distance to ensure they wouldn’t lose the car, he glanced at Scarlett with divided attention.

Seeing her, he was stunned once again.

In Ryan’s mory, Scarlett was particularly good-natured and temperantal.

She wasn’t the kind of person who blindly obeyed every word, but rather soone with stable emotions and rarely showed negativity.

But now, Scarlett’s gentle almond eyes overflowed with hatred and defiance, unreservedly.

Ryan furrowed his brow and asked, "Who’s in that car?"

"It’s the person you’ve been looking for all along."

Ryan was slightly taken aback.

Scarlett, however, showed no hesitation and imdiately said, "My mom, Serena Ford."

"But now she’s called Anna Ford."

Scarlett turned to look at Ryan, only to see his eyes, which usually carried a casual playfulness, were now deep and inky black.

Scarlett couldn’t help but pause.

This icy cold Ryan, he really resembled Julian Ford.

"Did you intentionally leak your whereabouts to Chloe Grant, bringing here?" Ryan suddenly asked.

Scarlett didn’t deny it.

Ryan continued, "If you wanted to see , you could have co to directly. You know I’m chasing after you and wouldn’t refuse to et."

"It’s precisely because you’re chasing that I went through Chloe." Scarlett huffed lightly, "I’ve blocked you on every contact thod. How could I pull you out again?"

The resentnt that had filled Scarlett’s eyes had now subsided.

The atmosphere in the car was, at least, normal.

Ryan, hearing this, flashed a resigned expression on his face, then asked, "How did you know I was looking for your mom?"

"Did you think that, just because you accidentally let it slip multiple tis and compared to my mom, I wouldn’t take it to heart?" Scarlett said candidly.

Ryan remained silent.

Scarlett continued, "When you helped financially back then, it was also to gather information about Serena Ford’s whereabouts, right?"

Ryan looked at her and, after pondering for a few seconds, said, "At first, yes."

But later on, amidst the pretense, genuine feelings had indeed been mixed in.

However, sincerity didn’t hold much weight, especially for n; being infatuated never impedes them from doing things that hurt won.

"Why did you deliberately lead here to et Serena Ford?" Ryan asked.

Scarlett replied, "I didn’t expect her to show up here either."

Ryan continued, "Then why..."

"I wanted to see you to discuss a collaboration."

"Collaboration?"

"Yes."

Scarlett nodded lightly with a calm deanor.

"Since from the beginning, your approach to was solely to find Serena Ford, now our goals align. You don’t need to pretend to court anymore; let’s be upfront and share information. How does that sound?"

Ryan was silent for a few seconds, then asked, "Aren’t you going to figure out why I’m looking for Serena Ford in the first place?"

"That’s your business. It’s unrelated to , and I have no interest whatsoever."

Scarlett answered decisively, her blatant indifference making Ryan’s chest tighten.

In contrast to his discomfort was Scarlett’s unwavering composure.

She continued, "You think about it. I only have one request: don’t act recklessly and alert the enemy."

Ryan furrowed his brows, "What exactly are you planning to do?"

"What I intend to do is also unrelated to you," Scarlett said.

"I’m just reminding you that Anna Ford now resides abroad and has quite a background. Despite searching for her for so many years, you haven’t found her; you should know better than that acting rashly will backfire with no benefit."

During their conversation, the white sedan pulled into the underground parking lot of a five-star hotel.

Ryan slowly followed, and after Anna got out and walked into the elevator lobby, he said, "I agree to the collaboration, but I have a condition."

"If there are conditions, then there’s no collaboration."

"..."

"Open the car door; I want to leave," Scarlett said.

Ryan didn’t respond. He rely took out his phone, snapped a picture of Anna’s car license plate, and sent it off for investigation before stepping on the accelerator to drive out of the parking lot.

"It’s too late. I’ll drive you ho."

The car was already on the road, and Scarlett couldn’t jump out.

So she sat quietly, waiting to get ho.

Ryan said, "Send your ho address."

Scarlett clutched her phone, wary, "You better pull over ahead and drop off. There’s still the subway running now; it’s plenty safe."

Ryan was amused, "Scarlett, after all these years we’ve known each other, I said I’d get you back. Do we have this little trust between us?"

"None."

Scarlett denied it decisively.

"And I’ll remind you once again, I already have a boyfriend. Ryan Ford, if you truly want to pursue , then stop bothering ."

"Are you still counting on that Aaron Carson?"

Ryan was infuriated.

"Do you not know that n like him excel at pretending to be mature and considerate in front of won, leading you to believe he’d be a good husband? His main aim is to pass on his lineage! Do you know how many won get deceived by guys like that?"

Scarlett: "..."

What Ryan ntioned indeed occurs.

But from Scarlett’s understanding of Aaron Carson, even Rhonda was willing to risk deceiving Julian Ford, pretending to be his girlfriend to et his parents rather than seek another woman.

It seems Aaron has so conscience after all.

Of course, no matter what Aaron is, it’s personal business Scarlett has no involvent in.

After all, her current bona fide boyfriend is Julian Ford.

Thinking of Julian, Scarlett moved her lips, deliberated for a few seconds, then said, "My boyfriend isn’t Aaron Carson."
