Josiah Sutton: "You should know what I want to say."

Julian Ford slightly raised his eyes, glancing at him indifferently.

With a casual, unconcerned deanor.

Josiah Sutton felt a surge of frustration, speaking coldly: "Experiencing symptoms of fainting indicates a high possibility of deterioration. How long do you intend to drag this out?"

Julian Ford: "I’ve never said that I would undergo treatnt."

Josiah Sutton’s chest heaved intensely, his emotions agitated: "Julian, why? Do you want Aunt Pierce and Mr. Ford to bury their own child?"

Julian Ford’s eyes drooped slightly.

Within his dark pupils, there flickered a gleam unseen by Josiah Sutton, both gloomy and cold.

Josiah Sutton felt a sinking sensation, "Fine, even if you don’t care about your parents’ feelings, what about Scarlett Shaw?"

Julian Ford looked up at him, "What about her?"

"Don’t play gas with ."

Josiah Sutton was infuriated.

"Aren’t you still pursuing her, wanting to enjoy her affection, and then when the ti cos, irresponsibly leaving her behind?"

"That’s her emotional issue, I can’t control it."

When Julian Ford said this, his deanor was so calm and rational that it was almost cruel.

"Furthermore, regardless of this illness, she and I won’t end up together. She knows this deep down. Instead of hoping for the most unreliable affection from , if she’s smart enough, she’ll seek sothing else."

Josiah Sutton: "..."

"If you weren’t my brother, I’d really want to stick the word ’selfish’ on your forehead!"

He genuinely felt like punching him.

"In matters of emotion, the fundantal logic is to derive value from others. As long as there are substitutes, like ti, money, or similar people, one can be rescued from the pain of a previous relationship. No one will love another person forever."

Julian Ford’s emotions were becoming increasingly cold and detached.

He paused and added:

"Even if soone could, it wouldn’t happen to ."

Josiah Sutton was rendered speechless by his words.

Ultimately, with resignation, he said: "In matters of emotion, I can’t intervene, but regardless, you have to undergo treatnt. Give a definite ti, and I’ll arrange it."

"I’ll consider it."

Julian Ford raised his hand, glancing at the ti on his watch.

Then he took the coat hanging on the chair’s back, and while walking out of the ward, he pulled out his phone and searched for Scarlett Shaw’s number in the contact list.

However, just as his finger hovered over the contact na, he noticed a familiar figure in a white down jacket, sneaking around outside the distant hallway rooms, seemingly up to sothing.

Scarlett Shaw was peeking into a ward through the transparent window when a cold hand grabbed the back of her neck.

"What are you sneaking around for?"

She suddenly looked up, eting Julian Ford’s calm and deep gaze.

Julian Ford: "Why aren’t you staying at ho obediently on New Year’s Eve, wandering around the hospital?"

"Ryan Ford ca for today," Scarlett Shaw said.

Julian Ford looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

Scarlett Shaw: "I overheard Ryan receiving a call from Chairman Ford and followed him secretly, but I lost him."

The hand holding the back of her neck relaxed, and Scarlett Shaw felt a slight chill in her skin, a trace of disappointnt crossing her heart.

But the next mont, the disappointnt was replaced by the man taking her hand.

Julian Ford gently pulled her in front of him, looking down at her, saying: "If you wanted to find , couldn’t you just call directly?"

Scarlett Shaw humd, "Who knows if it’s convenient for you. Besides, I’m not used to it."

Thinking back, though she’s known him for so long, she’d almost never called him to show concern.

"If it’s a call from a girlfriend, it’s always convenient."

Julian Ford led her to the elevator, his voice calm as water, yet his words stirred ripples in Scarlett Shaw’s heart.

As the elevator doors closed, Julian Ford glanced down, noticing Scarlett Shaw’s eyes and nose tinged with red.

"Have you been crying?"

Julian Ford asked.

Scarlett Shaw hesitated briefly, then looked up into his eyes and nodded.

Julian Ford: "Why were you crying?"

"Because I’m worried about you."

Scarlett Shaw answered without hesitation, without a hint of concealnt.

Julian Ford’s eyes deepened, and while he remained silent, she asked, "Why did you suddenly faint, and what happened to your forehead injury?"

"Didn’t sleep well, bumped it."

Julian Ford said concisely.

Scarlett Shaw withdrew her gaze from his stern face, not saying much more until Julian Ford led her to the Bentley and asked in puzzlent, "Where are we going?"

Julian Ford opened the car door, and as she sat, he naturally leaned over to fasten her seatbelt before eting her gaze, "Do you have other plans?"

"No."

"Then let’s pass New Year’s Eve together."

As soon as those words fell, the passenger-side door shut with a bang.

Scarlett Shaw’s heart was racing; the adrenaline lingering from earlier anxiety seed to act up, making her feel both nervous and expectant: "You’re not going ho to be with your parents?"

"Ryan is with them."

Julian Ford started the car, slowly driving out of the hospital’s underground parking.

Upon hearing this, Scarlett Shaw said: "Ryan was at my grandmother’s today and ntioned that you were with the family, and he wasn’t needed."

Julian Ford glanced at her sideways, "When you’re with , you like ntioning him, don’t you?"

"Well, that’s because I’m familiar with you. It’s just casual chatting, why worry about so many things?"

ntioning Ryan more often, even though Julian Ford disliked it, Scarlett Shaw’s cheek thickened a bit.

She also gradually grasped sothing; Julian Ford doesn’t dislike Ryan and has quite a good relationship with him, but he simply dislikes her ntioning Ryan. Since it’s just displeasure, occasionally teasing him feels quite satisfying.

She continued: "I heard Ryan say today that he’s not your biological brother. Is that true?"

Julian Ford squinted at her, "Still ntioning?"

"Isn’t it because I happen to ntion you too?" Scarlett Shaw touched her nose, "But if you don’t want to talk about it, then that’s it. I never force people."

"He’s indeed not."

Julian Ford’s gaze returned ahead.

"His mother was my father’s mistress. She passed away many years ago, then he was taken in by the Ford family."

"Mistress?" Scarlett Shaw was surprised, "Chairman Ford..."

"No need to be surprised."

Julian Ford remarked with utter indifference, as if used to it:

"My father’s number of mistresses is more than one can count on both hands, so younger than you. The public image of a good man he maintains is just for the sake of promoting the Ford Group’s businesses."

Scarlett Shaw was silent.

More than hearing gossip about Ezra Ford’s mistresses, she was more surprised by Julian Ford’s calmness.

Other than inherent anti-social personality, no one is born emotionless.

How Julian Ford accepted this reality since childhood and developed such a personality, Scarlett Shaw couldn’t fathom, nor dare to imagine.

She instinctively wanted to say, "Then you should be very close to your mother," but upon lifting her gaze, she suddenly saw the gloom in Julian Ford’s eyes.
