Julian Ford’s eyes darkened slightly, he didn’t say much, just grabbed her bag and returned to the car, taking her ho.

The car stopped downstairs at her ho, Scarlett Shaw unbuckled her seatbelt, but didn’t imdiately get out.

"Julian Ford."

Her eyes sparkled like stars, she turned her head and looked at him seriously.

Julian Ford, who initially did not intend to pay attention to her, wavered. Unintentionally, he t her gaze.

Scarlett: "I really liked tonight’s dinner, liked the cake, and I really liked today."

The car lights were off.

The car was dark and quiet, Scarlett’s clear voice was like pearls rolling, precious beyond asure.

"And——"

Scarlett paused for a mont, and seriously, sincerely, with heartfelt wishes, said:

"Happy Birthday."

With those words, she left.

Scarlett got out of the car without any hesitation, afraid that if she lingered, she might say the words, "and I also really like you."

But the word "like," she’s already said many tis in front of Julian Ford.

Not every ti can she face his indifference with strength and courage.

Scarlett rushed out of the car and ran back ho, not knowing that this "Happy Birthday" was the first ti in over twenty years that soone had said those words sincerely to Julian Ford.

It was also long after that Scarlett realized she was the only one besides Freya Pierce and Ezra Ford who knew Julian Ford’s actual birthday.

Of course, the forr two felt only disgust and indifference for this date.

Only she wished for his happiness.

Under the heavy nightfall, the luxurious black car stayed in the narrow, chaotic street for quite a while.

Until the break of dawn.

...

Scarlett barely slept that night.

Spending such a harmonious and beautiful day with Julian Ford had too many side effects; closing her eyes, all she could see was the man’s cool and noble face.

His eyes were ink-like, distinctly indifferent, yet when he stared at her, they were like a vortex.

Trapping a person inside, unable to escape even in death.

When dawn began to break, Scarlett finally drifted into sleep, waking up close to noon as her phone vibrated non-stop.

Scarlett lifted her eyelids to glance at the caller ID, pressed the answer button, put it on speaker, and placed the phone by her pillow, continuing to rest her eyes lazily as she said:

"Yana."

"Scarlett, guess what I discovered?!"

"Hmm?"

"That bastard Jasper Spencer’s phone is full of photos of you and Julian Ford. This perverted stalker!"

???

Scarlett snapped out of her drowsiness, rubbed her temples, "What?"

Yana: "Hurry up, let’s talk about it in person."

After Yana finished speaking, she hung up and texted Scarlett the address of a coffee shop.

Scarlett got out of bed, cleaned up, went downstairs to catch a cab, and twenty minutes later, t up with Yana.

Yana took a sip of her latte, looking ready to spill her guts, "Jasper Spencer is seriously ssed up; even if he’s Julian Ford’s arch-enemy, taking so many photos of people is pure psychological issues, isn’t it?"

Scarlett: "Let see the photos."

Yana sent them to her directly using her phone.

Scarlett looked at several photos, all of which were from when she and Julian Ford were out picking gifts in Bryland.

It was probably the day they were going to discuss the contract with Roman Lawson.

A mory flashed in Scarlett’s mind, and she suddenly thought of sothing but hesitated.

Yana noticed and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Scarlett chuckled awkwardly, "If I’m not wrong, Jasper Spencer took these photos probably on behalf of Zoe Sutton."

Yana frowned, "What?"

Scarlett briefly ntioned the night Julian Ford discovered that Jasper Spencer was following them, and the latter didn’t deny it.

Yana’s expression grew uglier the more she listened.

"I really misjudged him."

Yana’s voice was cold, even Scarlett was surprised; knowing Yana for so long, she had never seen her so angry before.

"Originally, I thought he was just physically strong with no brains, a straightforward person. Didn’t expect him to be so morally dubious, doing whatever Zoe Sutton tells him!"

Yana was so furious her eyes were reddening.

"A bootlicker who never got anything, traveled overseas to attend soone’s wedding, shalessly pretending to be deep and still not embarrassed, yet dared to agree to Zoe Sutton’s shaless requests!"

Scarlett had interacted with Jasper Spencer several tis.

Although occasionally calling him a bootlicker to his face, they weren’t deeply acquainted, so it wasn’t appropriate to say too much behind his back.

Moreover, Yana’s reaction was a bit beyond Scarlett’s expectations.

Scarlett asked, "Yana, you and Jasper Spencer, did you really only et through set-ups?"

Yana’s fiery eyes instantly paused upon hearing this.

She cald herself down and said under Scarlett’s probing gaze, "I’m just mad that this bastard dared to use this to blackmail you, might do sothing that harms you."

Scarlett raised an eyebrow, "Only for that reason?"

"What else could it be!"

Yana’s eyes flashed a hint of guilt as she quickly continued:

"Having him as a set-up partner is like a stain on my life; because he had big pecs, I reluctantly agreed to go along with him to please my family, I’m truly blind!"

Scarlett couldn’t help but feel that Yana’s gritted teeth also held the feeling of being blind in other matters.

But before she could question more, Yana suddenly noticed sothing, both surprised and doubtful, "That’s not right."

Scarlett looked up, "What’s not right?"

"How co you and Julian Ford are like a couple, even shopping together?"

Yana stared at the photos on her phone, her jaw dropping more the longer she looked.

"You two look way too ambiguous; look at this one, you’re looking down choosing ties, Julian Ford isn’t looking at anything else, just at you."

Yana’s words inevitably made Scarlett feel itchy inside.

She glanced at the photo Yana ntioned; indeed, it had quite an atmosphere, so she covertly found that photo on her phone, hit save, and scrolled down, saving several other good ones in her album.

Yana’s peripheral vision casually caught her best friend acting like a thief, repeatedly saving her photos with Julian Ford.

"Scarlett, what are you doing?"

Yana was stunned.

"You wouldn’t really have gotten involved with Julian Ford again, would you?"

The first thing that popped into Scarlett’s mind was the mory of Julian Ford hugging her waist and kissing her earnestly in a dark corner by the roadside last night.

Heat arose in her heart and ears before she could deny it, Yana preemptively said, "Don’t lie to !"

Scarlett: "..."

Could only honestly confess that she had shafully fallen for Julian Ford.

Yana listened, surprisingly even more calm than before, almost like a seasoned person, sighed, "I knew it."

Scarlett: "So you knew again."

Yana: "Last ti at the ski resort, the vibe between you two was odd, like heartstrings tangled, not just you liking Julian Ford, I’d believe Julian Ford is interested in you."

Scarlett had a lot to say on this topic.

She denied it, "You’ve really got it wrong, Julian Ford explicitly said he’s not into that way."

Yana seed intermittently deaf, continuing, "Listen to you, I suddenly think Julian Ford breaking off the engagent with the Walsh Family might have been for you?"
