Ye Mu stood on her tiptoes and whispered word by word into Ye Li’s ear.

As Ye Li listened to her, the expression in his eyes kept changing.

Ye Mu was amused with his words and cheekily replied, “Of course, I’m your daughter! Moreover, I’m your daughter who adores you with all her heart. Yet, you can bear to let your daughter…to suffer these injustices?”
Her eyes swept over Wen Ru’s corpse, and her aning was clear at a glance. Ye Li’s heart was in turmoil, and he even felt a little fear towards Ye Mu.
However, thinking back to how she had told him that the Emperor was critically ill, how she had gifted him with the ancient treasure, and how she had provided him with a way to get rid of the Pri Minister—he now knew she had indeed been helping him all along!

The Pri Minister’s wife was worried, but she continued to interrogate him sternly, “General, what do you an by this? Are you trying to cover this little bastard?!”

Ye Li swept a glance at Ye Mu, whose complexion was a little pale. He had a feeling that sothing was off, and his tone beca impatient. “You think I care about reputation? If the Pri Minister would not interfere in this matter, then my wife will be given a proper burial, and her child will still be my legitimate son for the rest of his life. The Pri Minister’s wife was so angered that her vision went black. If it wasn’t for soone supporting her, she would have fainted on the spot.
