The newly arrived Tarbosaurus walked down a short distance and then stopped.
It stood facing the Tarbosaurus by the lake from afar, with over a hundred ters separating them.
For creatures over ten ters long, this distance was a delicate one.
"Roar..." The Tarbosaurus with a scar near its eye let out a low growl.
Qin Ziwu expressed his understanding. "Brother, I think it's trying to drive the other one away. It seems they're not on the sa side."
Wang Yun adjusted his glasses. "It could also be that they just don't see eye to eye."
"I feel like they know each other," Du Yu frowned. Ever since breaking through to the superhuman level, he often felt he could sense danger from beasts.
Especially the faint ability to perceive the emotions of beasts, particularly these dinosaurs.
He could sense that the complex emotions between these two Tarbosaurs weren't as simple as re wariness or territorial aggression toward an unfamiliar mber of their species.
The two Tarbosaurs stood in a stalemate for a mont. Finally, the one that arrived later retreated.
After resting for a while, the Tarbosaurus by the lake returned the way it ca. As it passed the platform, it glanced at the nurous humans once more, its gaze cold, indifferent, and devoid of any extra emotion.
Fortunately, Tarbosaurs weren't creatures that took pleasure in torture and slaughter. When full, their aggression wasn't particularly strong.
Only after the Tarbosaurus left did the oasis regain its previous liveliness.
Sitting on the platform, Qin Ziwen repeatedly dragged the progress bar of the video. He discovered a very serious issue: the population count of this Pterosaur flock was wrong.
He counted several tis, even calling others to help. The result they all got was that this Pterosaur flock didn't have a hundred individuals. It wasn't even close to that number, having only sixty-nine.
"This is troubleso now." With a flock size under one hundred, it simply didn't et the second-tier standard.
Of course, it was possible that so individuals of this Pterosaur flock were still out hunting and hadn't returned to the group yet, but that was pure gambling.
Since it's all a gamble anyway, why not choose the third tier with higher potential rewards?
"Du Yu, tell , do you think the Crowned Eagle can hunt prey weighing over a hundred tis its own body weight?"
Du Yu pondered, seriously considering the possibility. His gaze swept across the lake surface, then toward the giant beasts by the shore. "Master, we need to gather more information. Based purely on physical combat, the chance is zero. The only thing we can do is utilize the surrounding environnt. However, these dinosaurs are already our hunting targets anyway. Setting hunting plans with them as the objective doesn't create a conflict."
Qin Ziwen looked toward the Paraceratherium and the Hadrosaurs.
Judging by weight, the ones most likely to et the standard were these two. Their tonnage should both be over ten tons.
Exceptionally powerful individuals among them could even break twenty tons.
Within the Hadrosaur herd, there was one individual that was particularly robust, standing a bit taller than its peers. It was likely the leader of this Hadrosaur group.
Seeing the countdown about to end, Qin Ziwen accepted the third-tier task for the Crowned Eagle.
Afterwards, under the guidance of their respective squad captains, the expedition team spread out. Forming groups of ten, they began investigating the oasis.
Half a day later, investigation results started coming in.
Most of these results were observations of different animal groups conducted from a safe distance.
However, a few of the investigation reports caught his attention.
"Who went to investigate this?"
"It was ," a male university student with half-wet hair, deep-set eyes, and pronounced features raised his hand.
"You went into the lake? Weren't you afraid so big fish hiding in there might eat you?"
The young man said, "Yeah, hotown. I'm from XJ. We have small lakes like this all the ti back ho. There aren't many fish in them. I'm not scared."
Qin Ziwen pressed further, "You went to the middle of the lake? You said there's a lot of silt at the bottom?"
The university student from XJ nodded with a silly grin.
"What's your na?"
"My na is Aili."
Qin Ziwen said, "Good na. Your information is very useful, but be more careful next ti."
Watching Aili walk away, Qin Ziwen rubbed the space between his eyebrows. These university students were indeed reckless. What if there was so large aquatic dinosaur at the bottom of the lake? That would have been a pointless sacrifice.
Fortunately, Aili didn't encounter any danger at the lake bottom. Otherwise, they would have lost a person right at the start of the investigation.
Qin Ziwen looked at Cao Biansheng. "Which team is that Aili from? Do you know him? Who's his captain?"
Cao Biansheng understood what Qin Ziwen ant and shrugged. "He is the captain."
Qin Ziwen fell silent. "Alright then."
He called Du Yu over and began discussing the details with him.
Soon, a plan began to take shape.
The hunting ti was seven days. Before the plan could begin, they needed to wait for the right opportunity. During this period, ti couldn't be wasted. It was the perfect chance to settle scores with so old 'friends.'
Qin Ziwen set his sights on the Giant Hyaenodons. Ever since they attacked last ti, this pack of Giant Hyaenodons fled into the eastern mountains. After the sandstorm, they continued fleeing eastward, eventually reaching this oasis.
It was ti to end the grudge between both sides.
Qin Ziwen took out paper and pen, wrote a ssage, tied it to the Crowned Eagle's leg, and sent it back to the Ho first.
Then, he led the team toward the area where the Giant Hyaenodons were gathered.
It was a patch of woods beside the oasis where the Giant Hyaenodons were currently resting.
After the death of the previous Giant Hyaenodon King, Short Tail, who led the pack's escape, beca the new leader.
Although its combat power wasn't as strong as the previous king's, it was smarter.
It was one of the few among this Giant Hyaenodon pack that actually had a brain.
In this Gobi Desert, to survive, you either needed muscle, brains, or prolific breeding.
Short Tail sensed movent outside. It stood up and let out a roar.
The other Giant Hyaenodons resting nearby opened their eyes and got up from the ground.
Then they saw a group of fully ard humans, holding long spears, quietly surrounding them from all directions.
Behind the humans was the azure blue lake water.
"Roar!!!"
One Giant Hyaenodon pawed at the ground, issuing a warning.
The other Giant Hyaenodons looked toward their leader—Short Tail, who was hiding at the very back.
Short Tail's pitch-black eyes scanned the group of humans before it. It rembered the ti it was caught in the humans' Large Net, so it was observing whether these people had that net with them.
It looked for a good while but saw no trace of the net. Short Tail's stubby tail gave a decisive thump against the ground, and the arrogant aura on its face gradually intensified.
"Whoosh—"
Right at that mont, a sharp arrow crossed several dozen ters, accurately embedding itself into Short Tail's eye socket.
"Awooo~"
It let out a pained howl. That arrow nearly sent it off to et its ancestors.
The intense pain left it no ti to think. It turned its head and ran toward the back, plunging headfirst into the lake.
Seeing this, the other Giant Hyaenodons around grew sowhat panicked. Their leader had fallen into the water. What should they do? Attack or flee?
Just as the pack fell into chaos, Du Yu had already led the main force to advance forward.
"Throwing Spears!"
Du Yu issued the command.
At the front of the crowd, everyone raised their right arms and hurled the long spears and javelins in their hands.
The Giant Hyaenodons at the very front were skewered, howling in pain.
