She had thought Noah Grant’s complications would be like her grandmother’s, just a slowing of his reflexes, but she never imagined they would be this severe.

Grief filled Walker Grant’s sharp eyes, and his voice grew hoarse. "I’ll assemble a dical team to develop a treatnt plan specifically for his condition. I will get him to walk again."

For a mont, Chloe Reed didn’t know what to say. Her heart was a tangle of emotions. Seeing Noah Grant in such a pitiful state, she suddenly didn’t care so much about whose child he was.

’He was brought to this by his own birth mother. He’s already suffered so much.’

’If I treat him coldly too, forcing him to live in constant fear, wouldn’t that just make his life even more miserable?’

Walker Grant watched the change in her expression. He didn’t have to say a word to know she had softened.

Walker Grant said hoarsely, "I’m going out for a bit. I’ll be back soon."

"Okay."

...

「Grant Family Estate.」

Sunny Reed had been locked in a servant’s room. No one ca to open the door, no matter how much she yelled. She only got one al a day. She was starving, weak, and utterly drained of energy.

Lying on the bed, she felt all hope was lost.

Just then, the door to the room opened. She shot up, but the sudden movent made a wave of dizziness wash over her. It took her a long mont to recover.

Walker Grant stood in the doorway, his presence sharp and imposing. His jet-black eyes watched her without a trace of warmth.

Sunny Reed cowered, her face growing even paler.

"Where did you take my son? I want to see him." Sunny Reed swallowed hard, forcing herself to stay calm.

"You don’t have the right to see him."

Walker Grant’s voice was exceptionally cold.

Sunny Reed kept backing away, her eyes wide with fear and panic. "What do you an?"

Walker Grant looked at her, thinking she seed like a complete stranger. She used to put on such a gentle and poised act, always seeming so understanding.

’But what was the result?’

’She played the victim, sowing discord within the Reed family. Then she deceived with her hypocritical act. And now, she’s resorted to any ans necessary. To stay by Noah’s side, she poisoned him, ensuring he would never walk again.’

A look of pure hatred crossed Walker Grant’s face. He gave a sharp wave of his hand, and the bodyguards behind him imdiately moved forward, forcefully dragging Sunny Reed to her feet.

"What are you doing? Walker Grant, what are you going to do? You can’t kill ! Murder is illegal! Let go! Let go! Help!"

Sunny Reed struggled violently, but she was far too weak to push the bodyguards away. She scread in despair, but a second later, a strip of tape was slapped over her mouth, sealing it shut.

"MMMPH! MMPH!"

Sunny Reed’s words were reduced to muffled cries. She began to sob in terror. Looking at Walker Grant, her eyes softened, pleading as she shook her head desperately.

Walker Grant didn’t spare her a single glance. He had her taken directly to the basent of a villa on the outskirts of the city.

The dark, enclosed environnt felt suffocatingly oppressive. Sunny Reed’s eyes were wide with terror as she took in the unfamiliar surroundings. She was dragged into a room.

Walker Grant watched her with cold indifference. "Because of what you did, Noah will never walk again. Are you satisfied now?"

Sunny Reed wanted to run, but his words froze her to the spot.

"What did you say?"

’Noah can’t walk anymore?’

’How is that possible!’

’The poison wasn’t that strong!’

"That’s impossible! You’re lying to ." Sunny Reed shook her head, refusing to believe him. "You’re just saying that to make suffer, aren’t you? I don’t believe you!"
