Wu Hen went to the location where the prison guard had died, standing there and looking around.
Just by peering slightly, one could actually see every room in this five-story prison from here.
However, it was very difficult for the inmates in those cells to see this spot, aning that this was a blind spot in the vision of all cells in the prison except for Cell No. 7.
"Is it possible that he was patrolling up to here, smoking or slacking off here, and then the Evil Spirit appeared, possibly even dressed in a prison guard's uniform, if what the inmate in cell seven said wasn't a lie…"
"Prison Guard Zhao initially didn't alert him, just stood here smoking and watching, thinking it was a communication issue among colleagues, that an extra person was sent to patrol here at night. The Evil Spirit initially didn't notice him, so it intended to hunt one of the inmates in this five-story prison."
"It was then that Prison Guard Zhao realized sothing was wrong. He originally wanted to hide here and inform the Prison Director after the Evil Spirit left, but unfortunately, he underestimated the Evil Spirit's power, and in the end, to avoid exposing itself, the Evil Spirit killed him."
After making these analyses, Wu Hen walked into Cell No. 7.
He stood at the entrance of the cell, looking out through the narrow cell door.
The visibility in Cell No. 7 was very poor; apart from the corner where Prison Guard Zhao died, most other places were not visible.
"But no inmate died, could it be that Prison Guard Zhao saw the Evil Spirit committing a murder, and hence went to stop it, and then got killed?" Fan Ke asked.
"If that were the case, he shouldn't have died in this corner, unless the target of the Evil Spirit's murder was the murderer in Cell No. 7, but clearly, the murderer didn't see any critical information, otherwise the Evil Spirit would have killed him too," Wu Hen said.
"Then with Prison Guard Zhao hiding here, he theoretically shouldn't have been noticed by the Evil Spirit, unless the Evil Spirit has so strong Perception, and would have noticed him resting in the corner as soon as it entered this five-story prison," Fan Ke raised his own doubts.
"That's why, he could actually have avoided this disaster, only to fear there are fools who at the crucial mont shouted out to Prison Guard Zhao, like waking up to pee, then seeing Zhao huddled in this corner, shivering, and hence greeted him," Wu Hen said.
Once this was said, the assaulted murderer's face imdiately changed.
He widened his swollen eyes, seriously suspecting that Wu Hen had watched the surveillance.
"How... how do you know?" the murderer blurted out.
"Haha, you already said, you'd chat with Old Zhao like old friends, it's clear that Prison Guard Zhao was also a master at slacking off, always sleeping here when he was on night duty alone, so you were especially familiar," Wu Hen said.
"It wasn't intentional, believe ... I really didn't see anything; last night I heard so strange sounds, and after waking up, I saw Old Zhao in the corner. I didn't realize he was scared. I thought he was hiding from a high-ranking officer's inspection, so I called out to him, and then he was dragged into the shadows," the murderer hurriedly spilled everything he knew.
"Why did you hide it just now!" Fan Ke said angrily.
"I caused his death, I…" the murderer said.
"So, did he crawl towards your cell before he died?" Wu Hen asked.
"Yes, but I was also terrified, shrinking back into the cell. I guessed that it might be the Evil Spirit, if it was the Evil Spirit, how could I have saved him, I'm just an ordinary murderer," the murderer said.
"He might not necessarily have been seeking your help," Wu Hen said.
"Then what was he doing?"
A man being choked to death by the blood spewing from his own body, even if he lost his senses in panic, wouldn't likely have sought help from an inmate confined in a cell.
Before dying, he still crawled toward this Cell No. 7, clearly understanding that the murderer was the only one who could witness his predicant.
"He knew he was bound to die, and before dying, he wanted to convey a ssage to us through the inmate in Cell No. 7, was he trying to tell us the identity of the Evil Spirit?" Fan Ke realized sothing and quickly spoke.
"Most likely so, Mr. Ordinary Murderer, please tell us all you saw last night, leave out no details," Wu Hen said.
"But I've already told you all that I know. The Evil Spirit hid in the shadows, I couldn't see him clearly, only saw Old Zhao unexplainably being killed, he kept crawling toward , reaching out his hand asking for my help," the murderer said.
"Which hand did he stretch out?" Wu Hen asked.
"This one," the murderer pointed to Wu Hen's left hand.
Wu Hen also imdiately extended his left hand, mimicking the way Old Zhao was signaling for help before he died.
"That's not right," the murderer shook his head, and after carefully recalling, then said, "He stretched out one finger, continuously pointing at , but at that mont I didn't understand why, I couldn't shout."
"Was it like this?" Wu Hen said, also extending an index finger and pointing it at the murderer.
"It's still a bit off," the murderer said.
"What about like this?" Wu Hen then stood his finger up to form the number "1."
"Yes, yes, just like that," the murderer said.
"It's Cell No. 1!" Fan Ke suddenly realized, imdiately turning her gaze toward the location of Cell No. 1.
Fan Ke was obviously very anxious. After all, they were going back to the city in a few days. Carrying an Evil Spirit into the city was an extrely terrifying thing.
She hurried towards Cell No. 1, raising the firearm in her hand.
Cell No. 1 was diagonally across from this Cell No. 7, which also fit with Wu Hen's earlier analysis regarding the issue of visibility.
That is to say, Lao Zhao was resting in a corner beside Cell No. 7, and after hearing so noise, he looked outside just in ti to see, across from him in Cell No. 1, the Evil Spirit committing an atrocity.
In Cell No. 1, a man as thin as a skeleton sat. He was slowly chewing sothing, making bizarre, crunching sounds.
"Thump, thump, thump!"
Deputy Prison Director Fan Ke's boots sounded rapidly, filled with aggression.
The skeletal man slowly lifted his face, his pale lips pressed tightly together, then he began to laugh.
His smile was sinister to the extre, his eyes like those of a weasel, staring fixedly at the approaching Deputy Prison Director Fan Ke. It was clear he intended to devour this beautiful woman whole!
"My God, this guy is the Evil Spirit!" At that mont, a prisoner from the opposite cell scread.
The prisoner in Cell No. 1 emitted waves of evil aura. His bones grew rapidly outward like tree roots, vicious Bone Spurs tearing through his flesh as if turning into Iron Bloodthorn Armor!
His arms transford into hook-shaped appendages, extrely sharp.
There existed a sort of Forbidden Magnetism in the iron cages, but as this prisoner revealed his true form, the cell experienced intense disturbances of Dark Magnetism. Black sparks of Dark Energy flickered throughout the entire fifth level, causing the prison's containnt system on this level to instantly malfunction.
The cell doors opened by themselves.
Not just Cell No. 1; all the cells opened.
This place held heavy criminals, teeming with hostility. Just then, two other prison guards had gone to check the surveillance, leaving only Wu Hen and Fan Ke on the fifth level.
Fan Ke raised her firearm and fired a shot into the air, then shouted angrily, "Stay in your cells!"
"Friends, we are all sentenced to death, so every day we live is a gift. Enjoy this beautiful Deputy Prison Director as you please, just leave her flesh and blood to ," laughed the Evil Spirit from Cell No. 1.
His laughter seed to have a bewitching power that penetrated into each prisoner's mind...
Whether it was under the Evil Spirit's ntal control, or simply rare monts of joy during years, even decades, of imprisonnt, those heavy criminals surged toward Fan Ke like excited Beasts.
Fan Ke realized the situation was dire and tried to retreat to the fifth level's main door.
But after the power failure, the prison's design was to automatically lower a heavy door.
The heavy door sealed off the entire fifth level—no one inside could get out, and it was very hard for anyone outside to help.
"My energy won't last long, please hurry up," urged the Evil Spirit from Cell No. 1.
It seed the Evil Spirit knew it was not going to survive, hence it indulged in one last act of debauchery.
As for the heavy criminals, the sins they bore ant they'd never leave prison in their lifetis; they couldn't care less about bearing one more cri.
Fan Ke's face turned deathly pale; she backed against the wall and then raised her gun.
The Evil Spirit knew that as long as Fan Ke had a weapon, the prisoners would be cautious.
The Evil Spirit extended a finger, shooting out a jet of black Corrosive Liquid.
The liquid destroyed Fan Ke's weapon, rendering her firearm useless.
Fan Ke took a deep breath, threw away her gun, and clenched her fists, ready to fight the prisoners hand to hand.
Seeing this, the prisoners' sinister laughter grew louder, seemingly more excited by the prospect.
"Hey, do you all think I'm just for show?" an incongruous voice suddenly rang out.
"With that small body of yours, what can you do?" scoffed a muscular criminal from Cell No. 4.
"You all enjoy yourselves; I'll keep him busy." The Evil Spirit seed to understand the prisoners' thirst well, as if wanting to envelop the prison in a terror of its own creation.
Hearing these words, Wu Hen also laughed, his smile brighter and more excited than those of the criminals about to assault the prison director.
Wu Hen had to admit sothing: killing could be addictive, especially knowing that his next victims were an Evil Spirit and a gang of scum.
The Evil Spirit transford into a shadow, floating on the ceiling like a repulsive vulture hovering above Wu Hen's head.
Wu Hen didn't hold back at all; he leapt up and grabbed the Evil Spirit's neck with one hand!
A blazing Holy Breath swirled around his body, coating him in a golden hue. He, who had seed like an ordinary man just a mont ago, instantly transford into a Xuanzhen Saint. Subduing the Evil Spirit in Cell No. 1 was as easy for him as an experienced Hunter dealing with a fledgling chick!
"Laugh, why don't you laugh now?" Wu Hen scoffed.
The heavy criminals' smiles froze; they looked like they had seen a ghost and didn't dare step forward.
Fan Ke leaned against the wall, still shaken, but upon seeing Wu Hen effortlessly subdue the fearso Evil Spirit, she suddenly recalled that when they had captured Wu Hen, they had used the strongest weapon in Prison Town.
How could a man who could contend with Prison Town be afraid of a re Evil Spirit?
