As Pei Yan narrated the story, the father and son ended up chatting by the lakeside for a full three hours. During this ti, the tea went from strong to weak as Old Pei listened, deeply absorbed. Apart from occasionally interjecting to ask questions about unclear points, he silently smoked and listened.

Pei Yan recounted the story of his journey into the investigation departnt to his father, naturally downplaying so of the crisis monts and the dangers of Xue Sha. Nevertheless, it left Old Pei alard and until his son finished telling everything, he remained in a daze. Only after a while did he co back to his senses, exhaling a long breath as he muttered, "Is everything you said true?"

Pei Yan didn’t bla his father for being montarily unable to accept it. If soone else had told this to him, he might have worn the sa expression. He smiled at his father, reached to unbutton his jacket, took off his shirt and placed it aside. After confirming no one was around, he said, "Dad, don’t shout out in surprise when you see what’s next."

Looking at his son’s strong muscles and the countless scars revealed once the disguise was removed, Old Pei fully believed everything his son had said. Feeling both comfort and heartache, he understood what his son was about to do and nodded, saying in a deep voice, "Go ahead and transform! I won’t shout."

As soon as he finished speaking, Pei Yan’s upper body completed its chanization transformation. Despite being ntally prepared, Old Pei was still shocked by the scene. He gently brushed his palm over the cold tal surface, tapping it with his fingers to produce a crisp tallic sound. Old Pei was certain that his son’s body, once flesh and blood, had now beco a cha.

"Change back, change back!" Old Pei withdrew his hand and nodded towards Pei Yan, signaling. Seeing his son disengage from the cha yet still having one chanical arm, he placed his hand upon it once more, eyes moist with heartache saying, "Is this the arm you ntioned was lost in battle and replaced with this chanical arm? Do you get joint pains in windy or rainy weather?"

"No! Dad, this is different from a surgical procedure, there’s no rust issue. This chanical arm is integrated with my body, no different from normal people, even more agile, look!" Pei Yan reassured his worrying father by waving his arm back and forth, demonstrating various gestures.

"Got it, got it! Quickly put your clothes back on before soone sees, otherwise it won’t be easy to explain!" Old Pei said, wiping his tears, hurriedly wrapping clothes around his son urging him.

"Oh, it’s fine! Even if they see, it’s fine, they’re all our own people. The staff here are our colleagues secretly protecting you and this ti I’m back to reveal this to the family. My colleagues on break will also have to talk to their families. It’s just a matter of when they’ll find out, sooner or later." Seeing his father’s nervous look, Pei Yan said with a smile, as he buttoned his shirt.

"Oh right, I forgot what kind of supernatural power you have, your colleagues as well! Old Xia said his daughter was born with great strength, at seven or eight she could pin several adults to the ground alone, I was skeptical at the ti, others thought Old Xia was boasting, said who would dare marry a girl like that, didn’t expect it was all true." Old Pei sat back in the chair with emotion suddenly saying, "You said the staff here are also your colleagues, so the old man at the fish farm’s gate, opening the door, is also one of you, right? He looks quite distinguished! I see you’re very polite to him, is he very powerful and not of low status?"

"Not low!" Pei Yan whispered to his father: "That’s our bureau chief."

Seeing his father about to stand up, Pei Yan grabbed his wrist and instructed, "Don’t look back, just pretend you don’t know, consider him a leisurely wanderer, that’s it."

"Understood, understood! Masters like to keep a low profile!" Old Pei replied, sitting back down in the chair. Although he said this, he couldn’t help but glance towards the fish farm’s entrance from the corner of his eye, and coincidently saw the old man look back at him with a feigned smile, which startled him causing him to quickly retract his gaze, silently admiring the masterly aura. Then he turned to Pei Yan muttering, "So according to what you said, you and your sister are now key personnel in the departnt, tasked with dealing with that so-called Xue Sha to prevent them from invading our world?"

"Yes, I’ll be busy with this for quite a while. Oh! Also the ti lag issue, I ntioned it earlier, didn’t I? When you leave this space don’t be surprised, you might have been here for a month but only a day has passed outside." Pei Yan casually responded, lying on the rocking chair staring at the fishing floater in the lake.

"Does that an you’re already twenty-six?"

"Hmm, seems like it! But don’t worry, with my cultivation, living for a few hundred years is no problem." Pei Yan turned over to remind his father, "Dad, the items my sister and I brought back this ti, include things for you, mom, grandpa, and grandma’s family. There are supplents as well as so Magical Artifacts for strengthening and nurturing the soul, all good for longevity! Only you and mom need to know, grandpa and they are getting on in years, don’t let them worry unnecessarily! Find a way to get them to use it, my sister and I will instruct you on how to use it shortly, then the departnt will also provide monthly subsidies for this, feel free to use them."

"These were all exchanged with your and your sister’s lives." Speaking emotionally again, Old Pei chid in.

"Oh, dad! What are you saying! Nothing as dramatic as risking lives, your son is quite formidable! Xue Sha won’t be around much longer, I estimate by the reckoning of our world’s ti, the battle will be resolved within three months, longer within the year, then I can stay ho on vacation, not even needing to appear for anything major."

Seeing his son’s proud deanor in front of him, Old Pei knew it was intentional to reassure him. Patting his son’s shoulder appreciatingly, he urged, "No matter what, you still have to be cautious, never underestimate them! I know there’s a lot of danger you haven’t fully disclosed. Your father may not be experienced in the world, but he’s not foolish. From the departnt’s level of care and protective asures, I gather your opponents are ruthless in achieving their goals. They must have threatened your family, right?"

"Ah!" Pei Yan paused, answering the question, "But don’t worry dad, those who threatened won’t have a second chance to open their mouths. What I said earlier, so of it was true and so wasn’t, I can’t tell you everything due to rules and to prevent you from worrying, but one thing I haven’t lied about is that I am really strong! In the realms I ntioned, there are very few who can harm ."
