817: Chapter 811: Reinforcents Descend from the Sky 817: Chapter 811: Reinforcents Descend from the Sky Having said that, Luo’er rolled the smoke grenade out along the ground, and it began to emit a thick smoke, enough to cover their retreat.

However, just a few seconds after the smoke grenade was rolled out, they heard a snap as it was struck by a bullet and sprung up, making strange noises continuously.

“Damn…” Seeing this, Hu Daoke couldn’t help but take a deep breath of cool air.

“That’s way too accurate, we’ll have to run faster later, otherwise we might beco live targets,” Luo’er said in astonishnt.

It seed as though they had been in danger every day for the past few days, so by now they both were sowhat numb to it.

After all, as long as they could escape Holy Heart City, everything would be over.

The smoke grenade, despite being hit by a bullet, did not fail.

Soon, the smoke ford a wall-like barrier, blocking out the sky.

The two exchanged a look, then in agreent, they both took a deep breath and started running out.

They didn’t need to be exposed for too long, just had to reach the next corner and they could run back to the inn along the streets and alleys.

By that ti, the sniper would be almost useless.

The mont Luo’er ran out from cover, he heard a snap as a bullet struck the ground very close to him, making a snapping sound.

He didn’t panic but continued to move agilely.

The situation was about what he had expected; the enemy’s sniper rifle seed to be bolt-action, so it was unlikely to fire a second shot imdiately.

Taking advantage of the enemy’s missed shot, the two successfully moved to the next corner cover, where they imdiately let out a sigh of relief, their legs imdiately going soft.

“Are they sick, always targeting the two of us,” Hu Daoke cursed, then glanced at Luo’er and continued, “It seems like ever since we t that Eve, we haven’t had a single good day, being chased every day.”

“So you suspect that this attack was also her doing?” Luo’er asked, having sowhat cald his heartbeat.

“Hard to say, but I always feel she’s very suspicious,” Hu Daoke said, shaking his head.

“If she had made any moves, Fula should have noticed.

She’s been watching Eve non-stop, twenty-four seven,” Luo’er said, then lowered his head in thought before looking at Hu Daoke, “Let’s go back and check.”

“Eh, alright!” Hu Daoke nodded.

With things having co to this point, he no longer thought about getting involved.

They had just been lucky to avoid getting hit by that bullet.

After catching their breath for a mont, Luo’er led Hu Daoke down the alley toward the direction of the inn.

By now, the Booze Ghost Gang was already in chaos, and they were too lazy to get involved further.

If they got targeted by the sniper again, they would be in trouble.

Luo’er hadn’t anticipated that the Booze Ghost Gang had snipers.

He had always thought they were just a ragtag bunch, able to form an overwhelming advantage against the Hound Gang only with the assistance of the CIA.

But judging from the attacks they had encountered several tis, the tactical skills of their opponents were not as low as he had expected.

In the face of attacks from the Booze Ghost Gang, they had been beaten back step by step.

Now it was clear that the Booze Ghost Gang could not just be considered a ragtag bunch anymore.

The tactics and strategies they demonstrated had surprised Luo’er.

They were not facing any re scattered soldiers but a rather elite underground ard force.

If he considered this, Luo’er felt that Eve’s suspicion was actually cleared.

After all, from so many encounters, it seed that as soon as they stepped into the Eastern District, they would be targeted by people from the Booze Ghost Gang, leading to a confrontation with their ard forces.

This capability was actually not difficult for Luo’er.

If he were to scale up his Advance Team to the size of the Booze Ghost Gang, he could also lock on to soone the mont they set foot on the land of the Eastern District and then arrange for soone to deal with it.

With a multitude of thoughts, Luo’er had Hu Daoke walk in front, while he covered the rear.

The area was a slum with complicated roads, and the slightest mistake could lead them astray.

Just as they reached an alleyway, the two saw a group of ard n appear at the end of the alley.

They were all equipped with submachine guns and moving quickly through the alley.

When they saw the two of them, the n were also stunned and didn’t imdiately react.

“Fire!” Luo’er shouted, aiming his stockless rifle and unleashing a burst of gunfire.

In the blink of an eye, the sound of guns blared, and he quickly brought down two n with a sweep of fire.

Upon Luo’er’s command, Hu Daoke imdiately found cover to set up his machine gun and started sweeping fire across the enemy.

With his light machine gun’s large ammunition capacity, his sweeping fire suppressed the enemy’s return fire.

Under their preemptive strike, the opponents caught off guard fell two n, and after that, they all hid on both sides of the alley, pinned down by the duo’s firepower, unable to lift their heads.

Their main equipnt was M3 submachine guns, as ntioned before these guns could make a difference in street fighting, but they were at a considerable disadvantage compared to fully automatic assault rifles.

Assault rifles outperford submachine guns in both penetration and suppressive effects, where submachine guns might have an advantage over bolt-action rifles, they were completely outmatched by assault rifles.

Taking advantage of the covering fire provided by Hu Daoke, Luo’er was swapping magazines while looking for other exits to avoid this squad of enemies, for their top priority was to escape back to the inn without Feng and Fulajie’er to protect them, they couldn’t afford to act recklessly.

After replacing his magazine, Luo’er ran behind Hu Daoke, taking over his position to lay down suppressive fire, and then tapped his shoulder, pointing to an adjacent alley.

Years of tacit understanding allowed them to grasp each other’s intentions without saying anything, Hu Daoke nodded, ceased firing, and began to retreat along the side alley with his light machine gun.

After a dozen or so shots, Luo’er too quickly changed positions.

Just two seconds after they stopped firing, the enemy imdiately launched a vengeful counterattack, with bullets rattling against the nearby walls, producing the buzzing sounds unique to ricochets.

Luo’er and Hu Daoke used alternating covering fire to retreat, and while Luo’er ran for his life, Hu Daoke had already moved into a pre-arranged firing position, covering his escape with the light machine gun.

No sooner had Luo’er passed him, the group at the corner gave chase, and Hu Daoke ruthlessly swept them with gunfire, suppressing them thoroughly.

Thus, alternating their cover, the pair retreated, and before long, they had nearly reached the inn.

However, their pursuers seed relentlessly close behind, as if determined to catch them.

While Hu Daoke was firing at the pursuers, his gunfire suddenly stopped; he then realized he had run out of bullets and turned back to shout, “Boss, I’m out of ammo!”

“Co here, I’ll cover you!” Luo’er braced his rifle and called out loudly.

“Roger that!” Hu Daoke responded, hugging his light machine gun and running back.

Once the suppressive fire ceased, their pursuers imdiately chased after them like mad dogs, utterly indifferent to their several bouts of heavy fire suppression.

Just as they were about to co into Luo’er’s field of view, a series of agonized screams echoed through the alley, followed by the sounds of falling bodies and dropped weapons clattering to the ground.

A familiar figure descended from the sky, landing solidly between them and their pursuers.

She held her knife sheath at her waist with her left hand, her right hand grasping a long knife, and even twirled the blade as she landed.

“I knew Little Fengye would co to protect us,” Hu Daoke imdiately relaxed, saying with a sense of great relief upon seeing the person’s silhouette.

“Are you guys okay?” Hearing Hu Daoke’s voice, Feng turned around, asking with a concerned expression.

“We’re fine,” Luo’er gestured dismissively, relaxing as he stepped out from behind cover, then looked at Feng and asked, “Are they dead?”

“Yes, all dead,” Feng responded with a faint nod.

“Ah, I was hoping to capture one alive,” Luo’er said, sowhat regretfully.

“Sorry,” Feng apologized, lowering her head.

“It’s okay, it’s not your fault, you did a great job.

Thanks for stepping in just in ti,” Luo’er said, comforting her with a smile.
