436: Chapter 429: Olavia and Ona 436: Chapter 429: Olavia and Ona “Have sothing to eat!” Tangmo said gently, slowly passing over a plate of food.

The Advance Team, serving as guests of the Judgent Legion, didn’t exactly have great als, but at least they were better than those of their followers.

On the plate Tangmo handed over, there was soft bread, dium-rare roasted at, and a strange thick soup filled with the aroma of spices.

The two young girls clung to each other in fear, but the gurgling sounds from their stomachs betrayed them.

Seeing the tempting food in Tangmo’s hands, the younger sister couldn’t resist swallowing.

Seemingly aware of their hesitation, Tangmo smiled and placed the plate on the ground, then took two steps back.

The younger sister imdiately grabbed the bread and stuffed it into her mouth.

Since her birth, she had never tasted such delicious, soft bread.

She gobbled it down without care for manners, and her face turned red as it got stuck in her esophagus.

“Have her drink this!” Tangmo took out the water bottle he always carried with him, opened the lid, and handed it to them.

“Thank you!” The older sister genuinely expressed her gratitude, then handed the water bottle to the younger sister.

She imdiately gulped down a few mouthfuls of the drink from the water bottle, finally catching her breath.

“What is this?” After a few sips of the drink, the younger sister felt a lingering fragrance in her mouth, a light, grass-like aroma.

“Oh, this is green tea!” Tangmo answered.

“Tea!” Hearing the word, the younger sister imdiately froze, covered her mouth, and began to tremble, “I’m sorry, I didn’t an to, I didn’t know…”

“Why are you apologizing?” Tangmo asked, perplexed.

“This…

tea, it’s expensive, right?” The older sister asked shakily.

“No, it’s not expensive at all.” Tangmo shrugged.

The green tea drink they brought with them was a readily available drink on Earth, a beverage that cost three yuan a bottle.

It was purely for the taste, and they didn’t want to always drink Otherworld’s alcohol.

“But this…” The younger sister’s hand holding the water bottle couldn’t help but tremble, and Tangmo was afraid she might spill it.

“Sister Moumou, tea is considered a luxury item here!” Baiyue stepped forward and whispered into her ear.

“Oh, I see.” Tangmo nodded, finally getting it.

In the process of communication and trade between Earth and Otherworld, several items have been designated as luxury goods due to Earth’s control.

Among them, tea leaves and exotic spices are considered extrely valuable.

Just like the Central Plains Dynasty once tightly controlled tea cultivation and porcelain production, the people of Earth jointly established a list of luxury goods for trade with Otherworld, listing so widespread items on Earth as luxury goods and then earning Otherworld’s gold in return.

Because they were luxuries, only the wealthy and nobility could enjoy these products.

Every glance and sniff were considered luxuries for ordinary people.

The Advance Team, whilst on missions in Otherworld, was backed by headquarters and businessman Blaiqi, so they had no concept of how precious these items really were.

The commodities frequently prepared by the headquarters to be used as money in ergencies were often lost or consud during missions, which didn’t bother the team mbers at all.

Having grown up on Earth, they knew that these items were not ubiquitous, but they were also not limited to the wealthy alone.

“Don’t worry, we really don’t care about these things.

Feel free to drink, we have more.” After understanding this point, Tangmo reassured them with a wave of his hand.

“Really?” The younger sister held the water bottle with both hands, looking at him with a look of disbelief.

“Of course, I really don’t care.” Tangmo shrugged and said.

“Thank you,” the younger sister gratefully nodded, then handed the water bottle to her sister, telling her, “Sister, have a sip.”

“There’s no need.

You drink.” Her sister’s throat moved up and down, but she quickly shook her head and declined her sister’s kindness.

Seeing their sisterly affection, Tangmo cautiously sat down, gradually drawing closer to them, then gently asked, “What are your nas?”

“My na is Olavia, and this is my sister, Ona,” the older sister respectfully replied.

“Olavia…

Ona…” Tangmo silently repeated their nas, then nodded and continued asking, “Are you from this town?”

“Yes,” Olavia, the older sister, nodded in reply.

“And your family?” Tangmo continued to ask.

“Family…” Olavia glanced at Ona, then shook her head, a few monts of sadness appearing on her face, “We are orphans.

We have no family…”

“I see…” Tangmo nodded, then after a mont’s silence, asked, “So, how have you been surviving in this town?”

“We grew up in the Church’s Welfare Institution,” Olavia answered.

“Church?” Hearing this word, Tangmo instinctively froze for a mont.

“Sister Moumou, the church has just been occupied by people from the Judgent Legion.” Baiyue added from behind.

“What irony,” Tangmo remarked, glancing at Baiyue before continuing, “If you are from the church, shouldn’t you be staying to help out, why are you running away?”

“It was the bishop who told us to go, he said…” Olavia started to speak, but upon seeing Tangmo, she instinctively shut her mouth.

“Don’t be afraid, we are not with those people from the Judgent Legion.” Tangmo, noticing her apprehension, reassured her.

“The bishop said that the people from the Judgent Legion are all demonic beasts.

If we stay in the church, we wouldn’t escape their clutches, so he told us to…” Olavia hesitated to continue.

“Your bishop is a wise man,” Tangmo nodded in acknowledgent.

“Um, sir, could you spare my sister?” After a long hesitation, Olavia finally managed to ask.

“As I have said before, it’s not that we are unwilling to let you go, but if you leave now, you will surely die.

Do you really want to let your sister go?” Tangmo looked at her as he asked.

“But we…” Thinking about their miserable fate, Olavia couldn’t help but sob again.

“Listen to , we may be imprisoning you in na, but in reality, we are protecting you.

As long as we are here, those from the Judgent Legion won’t dare touch you.

So, you don’t have to fear those three n outside, they are good people and won’t hurt you.” Tangmo patiently explained.

“Thank you, sir, but I do not understand why you are willing to help us, we are just, rely two humble won…” Olavia hesitated to ask.

“We simply cannot bear to watch, as inhabitants of Earth, we were taught from a young age that such actions are inhumane.” Tangmo replied firmly and righteously.

“Earth…” Olavia looked at Tangmo surprisingly and couldn’t help exclaiming, “You are from the Otherworld?”

“Yes, what about it?” Tangmo looked at the two shivering won curled up again and couldn’t help but ask.

“Are…

Are people from the Otherworld all like you?” Olavia was looking at Tangmo with wide eyes, trembling as she asked.

“Of course, we Earthlings aren’t much different from you, isn’t that common knowledge?” Tangmo looked at her sowhat puzzled, replying as if it was a matter of fact.

“I thought, I thought…” Olavia stuttered.

“Thought what?” Tangmo looked at her as he asked.

“The bishop told us that people from the Otherworld all have long pig noses, two large, round eyes, and bald heads that even swords can’t pierce.” Olavia spoke, stutteringly.

“Are there such people?” Tangmo blinked, going through all the races of people on Earth in her mind, yet couldn’t think of anyone with the features Olavia described.

“Sister Moumou, she’s describing gas masks and bulletproof helts.” After so thought, Baiyue stepped forward and whispered in her ear.

Tangmo froze for a mont before understanding.

To the Otherworlders, most recognized Earthlings from the two wars that happened thirty years prior.

Earthlings in full war gear might inevitably be described as monsters, which was understandable.

“Oh, that’s just a mask, we don’t actually differ that much from you.” Tangmo said, fetching her gas mask from its iron box in her bag to illustrate her point.

“So that’s what Otherworlders look like, are those three n outside also Otherworlders?” The two sisters stared wide-eyed at her.

Tangmo’s appearance resembled those of won from the Jiangnan Water Township on Earth, hence it was easily discernible.

“Them?

They are also Earthlings,” Tangmo nodded.

“But why are there elves and beastn?” Olavia looked at her and asked.

“Elves and beastn do exist on Earth!” Tangmo replied succinctly, not explaining to the sisters what genetic engineering was.

“How are they doing?” As soon as their conversation fell into silence, Luo’er couldn’t wait any longer and lifted the curtain to co in, causing the sisters to scream in fright.

“Don’t be afraid, he’s a good person!” said Tangmo.

In order to show that Luo’er was harmless, she jumped up from the ground and wrapped her arms around Luo’er’s waist.

“Moumou, don’t do this, they’re watching…” Luo’er, still being held intimately by Tangmo under the sisters’ gaze, reddened in embarrassnt and attempted to push her away.

“He is an Elf?” Olavia looked at Luo’er and couldn’t help but exclaim.

“Yes, to be more precise, a Half-elf!” Luo’er nodded, taking the initiative to answer.
