433: Chapter 426: The Judged Girl 433: Chapter 426: The Judged Girl Following the cobblestone path, the three arrived at a place surrounded by a crowd.
Fortunately, the Judgent Knights made way for them, allowing Luo’er and his companions to effortlessly make their way into the circle.
Of course, even if they needed to fight their way in, no one else would dare to stop them.
Not to ntion the towering figures of Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang, the re sight of their possessions was enough to terrify an ordinary person.
Inside the venue, many Judgent Knights were surrounding to maintain order, and there were also several piles of firewood, apparently prepared to burn the heretics.
As an executioner, Kroel had also appeared here, sitting comfortably on a chair, with an attendant holding an umbrella for him, to prevent his delicate robe from getting wet from raindrops.
As the captain of the Judgent Legion, Dina also stood by Kroel’s side.
He was as usual, his Rune Armor was extrely exquisite, and at his waist was a beautiful long sword.
Though it looked like a work of art with an intermix of gold and silver, it was not rely a decorative item.
Cheng Ziang still vaguely rembered his encounter with Dina and was feeling lingering fear about his power.
The strength of the man before him was not to be underestimated, second only to Yalunte and a naless swordsman.
Although Ziang had received Yalunte’s teachings, honestly speaking, Ziang was not sure he would co out victorious even if he stood against Dina now.
A question had always bothered the Advance Team, how could one not fear that their armor would freeze and stiffen while covered in heavy snow?
After spending so ti together, they discovered that these Rune Armors had leather linings that effectively blocked external temperatures.
And so of the high-level Rune Armors were etched with warming runes, similar to the heater in their carriage.
This allowed these knights to feel warm even wearing armor in cold weather.
The individuals from the Judgent Legion could only find about ten decent girls after a thorough search.
After bringing all the girls here, Kroel relaxed on his chair and began their so-called trial.
At his beckoning, a Judgent Knight brought an innocent girl in front of him.
Kroel held his thick Book of Atonent, murmuring sothing.
However, because of the distance, Luo’er and his companions were unable to hear his mumblings.
“According to our trial, your husband has had contact with heretics, thus he was found guilty.
Do you admit this?” Kroel asked nonchalantly.
“Sir, he hasn’t, he has never been in contact with heretics.” The woman cried out loudly.
“Where is he?
Call him out.” Kroel asked with a smile.
“This…” The woman turned pale.
If she called her husband out, he would surely be killed.
So, she clenched her teeth and chose to remain silent.
“So you have decided to shelter him.
That would get you accused too.” Kroel said, advancing a step and pinching the skinny cheek of the woman.
The action might seem kind but his face had an unmistakably lascivious expression.
“Sinful woman, do you admit your sin, and are you willing to atone for it?”, Kroel asked with a smile.
The woman bit her lip, remaining silent.
She knew what atonent ant.
Otherworld might not be as conservative as the Earth of Ancient Tis, but she still wanted to keep her chastity.
“Sir, I am not guilty!” After hesitating for a long ti, the woman raised her head and spoke out strongly, her voice shaking.
Hearing her answer, a hint of surprise flashed across Kroel’s face which then returned to a smile, “Since you refuse to admit your sins, let the flas purify you.”
With an emotionless face, he gestured with his hand.
Two Judgent Knights stepped forward, ignoring her screams, and tied her to a pile of firewood.
“See, this is what happens to the sinful!” A priest glanced around, yelling aloud.
Then he pulled out his Magic Wand, swiping it in the air.
Instantly, the flas roared, engulfing the girl.
Facing the burning flas, the girl scread out loud, a cry too horrible to bear.
The scream was so heart-wrenching that even Luo’er couldn’t help but tremble.
The fierce flas imdiately covered the girl’s whole body.
With the rising of flas, the girl’s screaming got weaker and weaker, indicating she was close to her end.
Shaking uncontrollably, Luo’er felt his mind go blank, unsure of what to do.
He desperately wanted to pull out his gun and end the girl’s agony with a single shot, but sense told him that he couldn’t do so, as it would an interfering with the Judgent Legion’s internal affairs.
The three were trembling with anger, but with nothing they could do, this feeling of powerlessness filled their hearts with guilt.
The girl’s yelling eventually ceased, the struggling stopped as well.
The crackling sound of the fire echoed in the air, and a disgusting sll of burning spread around, causing the three n to cover their noses, feeling sick to their stomachs.
Perhaps due to the warning presented by the girl, Kroel’s subsequent trials were much easier.
Despite their reluctance, all the girls confessed their sins one after another and accepted Kroel’s so-called atonent.
Soon, it was the turn of those two younger girls.
The knights roughly pushed them in front of Kroel.
Shaking all over, they held each other and wept.
The blood from the nose of one of the girls had already dyed her clothes red.
“Are you willing to atone for your sins?” Kroel didn’t even bother to pass judgent, directly asking them if they were willing to offer their souls.
“Sir, I…
let atone, please spare my younger sister, she’s still a child…” The older girl trembled as she addressed Kroel.
“But even young people can commit cris, can’t they?” Kroel replied as he gently stroked the sister’s face, a sickening smile plastered on his face.
“Sir, I beg you.
I’ll do whatever you want, just spare my sister!” The older sister tightly embraced her sibling, trying to shield her from Kroel’s gaze.
Kroel stared at them intently, his facial express flickering unpredictably.
Finally, he gestured to a Judgent Knight with a glance.
The knight apprehended, nodded, then moved to seize both girls by the arm and drag them away.
“Sir, Sir, I beg you, Sir!!!” The older sister scread hoarsely, trying to plea for his rcy.
Just at this critical mont, Luo’er stepped forward, then respectfully said, “It has been a while, Lord Kroel!”
“Oh, isn’t this Captain Luo’er?” Upon seeing Luo’er, Kroel instinctively flinched, a look of formal courtesy crossing his face at once.
“Indeed, it is I.
I regret not having the opportunity to visit you sooner, and I must apologize for our negligence,” Luo’er bowed his upper body slightly as he said this in a respectful manner.
“No need for such formalities, Captain Luo’er.” Although Kroel looked down on Luo’er, he understood the significance of face value, especially given Luo’er’s position.
The knight, unbothered by the formalities between Kroel and Luo’er, hauled the girls away, but just as he passed Luo’er, Luo’er sprang forward and grabbed one girl by the wrist.
“May I inquire how Lord Kroel intends to deal with these people?” Luo’er turned to glare at the knight before asking Kroel the sa question.
“Of course, they are to atone for their sins.
I would appreciate it if Captain Luo’er didn’t interfere with our Judgent,” Kroel retorted.
“Atone, huh,” Luo’er muttered, bowing his head in thought.
He then looked up and laughed, “Speaking of atonent, could we help out?
My two n have already…”
Luo’er was interrupted as Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang knowingly stepped forward, their tongues licking their lips in anticipation.
“Oh, is Captain Luo’er also interested in this?” Kroel hadn’t expected Luo’er, being an Earthling, to stoop so low.
“We are all n, aren’t we?” Luo’er chuckled, an amused look spreading across his face.
“Hmm…” Kroel hesitated.
He was considering whether or not he could use this situation to control the Advance Team and gain leverage over them.
This way, even if he could not blackmail them into serving him, he could at least guarantee they wouldn’t make any trouble in the coming days.
“Hahaha,” Kroel broke out in laughter, then nodded, “If it’s Captain Luo’er’s request, then of course there won’t be any issues.”
“Thank you, Lord Kroel!” Luo’er gave a brief bow, then beckoned with his hand without looking back.
Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang understood his gesture, imdiately taking a step forward to each grab a girl.
“Lord Kroel,” Luo’er glanced back at the two n, then turned back and asked, “Is there any requirent for their atonent?”
“No requirents, there are no taboos, as long as Captain Luo’er is pleased,” Kroel nonchalantly waved his hand, “They are now sinners.
Until they’ve fully atoned, they have no rights.
You can dispose of them at will.”
“Thank you, Lord Kroel, I thank you on behalf of my team!” Luo’er responded.
He bowed, then turned around, signalled his n, and left the scene.
“Should we assign soone to monitor them?
I’m afraid they might let the girls go!” Dina stepped forward to whispered as they watched the three n’s retreating figures.
“Have them watched.
We have their weak spot now.” Kroel said, his smile growing broader.
“Yes, I will arrange it imdiately!” Dina nodded, then respectfully withdrew.
On the road, Luo’er walked towards the camp with Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang.
Each of them held a girl in their arms, malicious grins revealing on their faces, heedless of the girls’ cries and sobs.
Luo’er occasionally looked backward.
He knew that the Judgent Legion wouldn’t trust them implicitly and would definitely have people tailing them.
Therefore, they must act convincingly.
No matter how the two girls struggled and sobbed, his party wouldn’t let them go for now.
