400: Chapter 393: Rembering the Past Under the Moon 400: Chapter 393: Rembering the Past Under the Moon Tonight was undoubtedly a sleepless night.
After the chaos of the dusk, everyone’s mood had yet to calm down.
Since the Murong Squad joined the Advance Team, they’ve already failed two missions.
Before coming to the Otherworld, they thought executing missions here would be like executing special operations missions on Earth.
The headquarters would provide detailed intel, the Advance Team would prepare fully, and the whole plan would be executed without a hitch.
However, after coming to the Otherworld, they realized the reality was vastly different.
The headquarters could not provide real-ti and effective intel, and each operation plan of the Advance Team involved a significant amount of speculation.
Even though the battles were still mainly gunfights, the existence of magic added a splash of fantasy to them.
Murong started to understand Luo’er’s cautious approach to executing missions in this world.
He imagined that if he were the one to arrange the operation plan, his squad would have probably suffered heavy casualties by now.
Earlier, the Advance Team executed a mission in Lipei City.
According to Hu Daoke, it was another brutal gunfight, causing multiple injuries, and Luo’er was once again affected by Magic Power Erosion, leaving his body very weak.
Murong, leaning on the railing, looked up at the night sky.
The evening breeze ca, and he sighed lightly, feeling ashad for the naivety of his previous thoughts.
Being part of the Otherworld Advance Team was far from a cushy assignnt.
Luo’er and his team had to risk their lives every day.
A slight mistake could an the difference between life and death, a situation unimaginable on Earth.
Back at Haiya Academy, the most they’d experienced of death was within the Virtual Battlefield.
People “died” daily in there, and the frequent experience desensitized them.
It was not until they ca to the Otherworld that the Murong Squad truly understood the concept of parting by death for the first ti.
There were no taunting laughs when squad mbers fell, no jokes during firefights.
When they learned that the people they were closest to were about to leave them forever, everyone’s mind went blank.
In the room, Tangmo and Baiyue were earnestly murmuring Spells, trying to speed up Xuzhong Qi and Wu Tairan’s healing process.
They had been repeatedly reciting the Spells non-stop for two hours, their lips already starting to ache.
Large beads of sweat dripped from their foreheads.
“Sister Moumou, take a break, I’m fine, I’m much better already.” Watching Tangmo focused entirely on healing, Xuzhong Qi felt guilty and suggested.
“Yeah yeah, Sister Baiyue, take a break too, my injury is not a big deal.” Wu Tairan from the side hurriedly added.
Tangmo did not say anything, she just shook her head while reciting the Spells.
She had always been bothered by Xuzhong Qi’s injury, and she wouldn’t give up on treating him until she was completely drained.
“Jiu’er, try to persuade them.” Xuzhong Qi implored Shangguan Jiu who was nearby.
“I can’t persuade them…” Shangguan Jiu shook her head helplessly, looking at a loss.
“Jiu’er,” Wu Tairan from the side called her na, then mouthed, “Go get the Captain over here!”
After this battle, most of the Murong Squad had basic acknowledgnt for Luo’er as the Captain.
Although the way he got the position with the Otherworld Advance Team was disputable, Luo’er was indeed a Captain worthy of their respect.
“Okay…” Shangguan Jiu nodded, then quickly ran out of the room.
Given the current situation, probably only Luo’er could persuade the two of them.
Ziang could as well, but he didn’t have the sa authority as Luo’er.
The difference between him and Luo’er was that Luo’er was the person they were in love with, whereas Ziang was just their superior.
Elsewhere, Luo’er, having co out from Shariya’s office, didn’t imdiately join his teammates but took a walk around the campus to ease the tension and worry in his heart.
Just after taking a few steps, a familiar voice sounded behind him, “See you next ti!”
Luo’er turned around and saw Feliz standing not far behind him, gazing at him.
The weather was getting colder, so she was wearing a fur cloak over her uniform and white silk stockings imported from Earth, matching her long boots, making her look less out of place.
“See you next ti is sothing people say when they part, not when they et,” Luo corrected her.
Feliz cocked her head, appearing indifferent.
She slowly approached Luo’er, the evening had beco colder, Luo’er could even see the steam from her breath.
As Feliz approached, she slled a faint scent of gunpowder on him.
She frowned and asked with concern, “I heard you guys had a conflict with soone else, is everyone okay?”
“How did you know we had a conflict?” Luo’er asked instinctively.
“Don’t forget, my brother is a city guard.
He told that so people had a gunfight with the Hound Gang in the East City Zone, and the first one I thought of was you.” Feliz glared at him and said a bit reproachingly.
“We’re fine,” Luo’er scratched his head and said, “A few people got hurt, but it’s nothing serious.”
“You didn’t get hurt, did you?” Feliz asked with concern.
“Of course not.
Otherwise, how could I be out for a walk?” Luo’er spread his hands, indicating that he was unhard.
Feliz slightly tilted her head upward, looking at him with a gentle gaze.
In the moonlight, Luo’er saw her face gleam radiantly.
The moonlight draped her face in a soft white gauze, making her complexion appear even more fair and delicate.
Her eyes, reflecting the starlight above, were bright and profound.
Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, irresistibly captivating.
Her slightly thin lips couldn’t fully cover her teeth, revealing two adorable front teeth.
As they say, to be charming, one must buck teeth.
Luo’er rembered the last person with this trait was Baiyue, but she never liked anyone to see her bunny teeth.
Feliz in front of him also seed to have this feature, but one needed to tilt her head up to see it.
Seeing her adorable and innocent appearance, Luo’er found himself montarily spellbound, held in a trance as he locked eyes with her.
“Eyes,” Feliz suddenly stretched out her hand, pressing his face with her finger, and playfully said, “one of your eyes has changed color!”
“Oh, it’s a color-changing contact lens.” Luo’er was taken aback for a mont.
He quickly turned his back and removed the disguised contact lens, tossing it casually into a flower bed.
It was the lens he used for disguise, but after a fierce gunfight, one of his lenses had sohow fallen off, making him appear to have heterochromia.
However, due to the chaotic situation, the rest of the Advance Team hadn’t noticed.
“This looks much better!” Looking up again at Luo’er’s profound, dark-green eyes, Feliz revealed a satisfied smile.
She still liked Luo’er’s dark green pupils, filled with sadness, eliciting one’s compassion.
“I always feel that your current deanor…
doesn’t quite match your previous personality…” Luo’er, feeling a bit uneasy under her gaze, diverted his sight and said awkwardly.
“What’s a ‘previous personality’?” Feliz tilted her head, asking puzzledly.
“I just feel that you right now seem different from when we first t.” Luo’er explained.
“You still rember those things,” Feliz said in a reproachful voice, lowering her head, cheeks beginning to turn slightly pink, “I was naive back then.
Now that I’ve experienced so much, I’ve grown.”
“Hmm, compared to a year ago, you have indeed grown a lot.” Luo’er nodded in agreent.
“So you’re saying I used to be childish?” Feliz looked at him, asking sowhat angrily.
“Ah, I didn’t an that!” Luo’er frantically waved his hands in denial.
“I was just kidding!” Feliz’s face broke into a smile again.
“Do all you girls like to play these types of tricks?” Luo’er breathed a sigh of relief, muttering softly.
“Luo’er,” Feliz suddenly halted him, and asked while looking at him, “When did we first et?”
“It should be a year ago, a little more than a year, or almost a year.” Luo’er thought about it, answering seriously.
“Where?” Feliz continued to ask.
“Uh…” Luo’er pondered for a mont, then cautiously said, “It should be…
at the freshman welco party.”
“Because of what?” Feliz kept asking.
“Um…” Luo’er thought for a while.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t rember, but that he didn’t dare to answer.
After much hesitation, he finally stamred, “Because, because you were competing with Audrey, so you wanted to…
pour you a drink.”
“I scolded you as disgusting back then, I’m sorry!” Feliz looked at him, apologizing sincerely.
“I didn’t take it to heart at all.” Luo’er scratched his head and said.
“It’s been a year already,” Feliz sighed, then turned her head to gaze at the night sky, and asked softly, “It feels like so much has happened this year.”
“Indeed, a lot has happened.” Luo’er nodded in agreent.
Unbelievably, they had been on a mission in the Otherworld for over a year, and a lot had occurred during this period.
Every day Luo’er felt like he was walking on thin ice.
To this date, the entire Advance Team was still intact, which Luo’er regarded as miraculous.
“Where did you go after leaving the Magic Academy?” Feliz asked, not turning her head.
“Masya, Ronisca, Saint Basaya, many places…” Luo’er answered.
“Did the princess of Masya know you?” Feliz turned her head, asking with a frown.
“Uh, well, we knew each other before…” Luo’er stuttered.
He didn’t know why, but facing Feliz’s gaze, he felt guilty.
