185: Chapter 181: Exotic Hotown Sound 185: Chapter 181: Exotic Hotown Sound After making all necessary arrangents, Baiyue and Cheng Ziang went to rest.

They were part of the night shift, so they needed to rest during the day to have enough energy to carry out their tasks at night.

anwhile, the three mbers of the day shift were now headed off to carry out their tasks.

Considering Hu Daoke’s towering physique would easily attract attention in Helros, a city populated by Dwarves, he was left behind to look after the equipnt.

Initially, he was pleased that he’d be executing tasks with Tangmo, but Luo’er’s words sent him spiralling into despair.

Watching the two of them leave the inn, Hu Daoke wore a gloomy expression.

He turned to look at Cheng Ziang who was preparing for bed and said, “Hey, let’s chat a bit, bro!”

“Scram, I have a task at night, no ti for your nonsense!” Cheng Ziang, who was making his bed, coldly refused.

“But it’s still dayti, it’s okay to sleep later!” Hu Daoke retorted, heading towards him.

“I told you not to bother while I’m sleeping, if you are bored go over there and count the ants!” As Hu Daoke neared, Cheng Ziang instinctively prepared to protect himself, knowing that Hu Daoke seldom uses words when actions would do.

“I’m being neglected again.

I’d better join you guys for the night mission!” Hu Daoke proposed from his bed.

“Heck, in the pitch-darkness, if the High-peak soldiers happen to spot you, they’ll think you’re an enlightened bear!”

“Doesn’t that an I’m absolutely useless then!” Hu Daoke protested, throwing up his hands.

“Didn’t Luo’er task you with watching over the equipnt?” Cheng Ziang, preparing to lie down, reminded him.

“What’s there to watch?

You all are in the room, what should I worry about being stolen?” Hu Daoke exclaid loudly.

“Shut up, keep it down, I’m going to sleep!” Cheng Ziang fell back onto the bed, pulling the blanket over himself.

“You see, you’re ignoring again!” Hu Daoke whined.

“Did you swallow poison or sothing, I’m losing my patience!” Cheng Ziang rouged his eyes, expressing his exasperation.

He slightly propped up his pillow, then said to Hu Daoke, “Speak your mind quickly, I need to sleep soon!”

“You see, you’re just going through the motions.

Conversations without soul!” Hu Daoke retorted.

“Are you going to talk or not, if not, I’m going to sleep!” Cheng Ziang was about to lose his patience.

“Okay okay, don’t get mad, what should we talk about?” Seeing Cheng Ziang angry, Hu Daoke quickly waved his hands to show surrender.

“…” Cheng Ziang decided to stay silent for fear he might suffocate with frustration.

Luo’er and Tangmo walked along the moist cobblestone streets.

Just the thought of being able to execute a mission alone with Luo’er brought an irrepressible smile to Tangmo’s face.

“Why are you so happy?” Luo’er asked, unable to resist chuckling at Tangmo’s grinning face.

“It feels like we’re on a date!” Tangmo exclaid cheerfully.

She linked arms with Luo’er, looking very intimate.

As a half-dwarf, she stood less than 1.5 ters tall, a whole head shorter than Luo’er.

As she leaned against him, there was an inexplicable sense of joy.

“We’re here on a mission, not a date.” Luo’er said helplessly.

Although his words denied it, he didn’t remove his arm from her embrace.

The High-peak residents on the street were basically around 1.3 ters tall.

Won were even shorter, so were less than a ter tall.

As a result, Luo’er felt like a giant walking down the street.

All of the High-peak individuals, though short, were not delicate-looking.

They were generally rough and tough; it was like regular humans shrunk to a height of 1.3 ters.

The ones with delicate features were mostly mixed-race, with perfectly proportioned limbs and facial features, making them look more harmonious.

The best example was Tangmo, she was a half-dwarf but her body developnt adhered perfectly to her current height proportion.

Coupled with her doll-like face full of Oriental classical features, she looked no older than a child.

Of course, Luo’er, a half-elf, was not in a better place either.

Even though he was almost thirty this year, he was still considered underage according to half-elf tradition.

His appearance wasn’t much older than Tangmo’s, and had they been on Earth, they could easily have passed off as middle school students.

Curious glances from the High-peak people frequently landed on them as they strolled down the street.

Ronisca had no tradition of discrimination against half-elves, so their gazes were mostly filled with surprise.

Influenced by Earth for many years, the aesthetic appreciation of the High-peak people has gradually inclined towards delicacy.

Feeling the gazes of the surrounding people, Luo’er was glad he didn’t bring Hu Daoke along as his big fra would have definitely caused a commotion.

Although there were plenty of foreigners in Helros, half-beastn and beastn were rarely seen.

The alien war ended almost thirty years ago, but the state of the Beastman Race remained tribal and backward.

Thus, in the human countries, half-beastn and half-elves were at the lower rung of the discrimination chain.

Though the half-beastn were marginally better off due to their physique.

Though Tangmo was daydreaming about their imagined date, Luo’er couldn’t afford such distractions.

The whole way, he was paying attention to the conversations of the High-peak people, trying to understand their language.

Though Helros was a global city, few High-peak people spoke Tasta.

The main language in Helros was Dwarven, or more accurately, High-peak.

Luo’er noticed that not only were the High-peak locals using Dwarven to communicate, but outsiders were using it too.

Hearing Dwarven from all directions on the crowded streets was indeed overwhelming for Luo’er.

“What’s wrong?” Upon seeing Luo’er’s troubled expression, Tangmo looked up at him with concern.

Luo’er looked down at her and let out a deep sigh, then said with a bitter smile, “Why can’t you speak the Dwarven Language?”

Upon hearing Luo’er’s complaint, Tangmo inevitably pouted and grumbled, “I’m from Earth, of course I don’t understand the Dwarven Language.

Let alone that, I don’t even understand English!”

“That’s really not sothing to brag about,” Luo’er sighed and comnted.

“Now that we don’t understand anything, let’s go back!” recomnded Tangmo, after scanning their surroundings.

“We can’t do that.

Helros is a city of Dwarves, it’s normal that we do not understand their language.

If we give up now, we won’t know when we will finish our mission.

Keep in mind, we are already almost a month behind schedule,” Luo’er said seriously.

“Humph!

As soon as you beca a captain, you’ve put on airs, always lecturing ,” Tangmo responded with dissatisfaction, her lips pouted after being scolded by Luo’er.

“When did I ever put on airs?” Luo’er laughed and shook his head.

“Now, it’s all about the mission with you, you are not fun at all when we hang out together,” Tangmo said, pretending to sulk.

“Aren’t we on a date right now?” Luo’er gave a wry smile as she shook his arm.

“No, it’s not.

You’re not my boyfriend!” Tangmo’s expression turned lancholy as soon as this ca up.

“Boyfriend and all that, it’s still too early…” Luo’er hadn’t even finished his sentence, he suddenly heard a familiar voice behind him, he paused and imdiately beca serious.

“No, it’s not…” Tangmo was just about to retort, but Luo’er covered her mouth.

She widened her eyes to look at Luo’er and saw him make a ‘silence’ gesture.

After silencing Tangmo, Luo’er cautiously looked around, then pulled Tangmo into a corner, checking their surroundings once again.

“Luo’er, what’s the matter?” Tangmo asked, looking at him uneasily.

“Listen…

Never mind, you wouldn’t get it anyway!” After hesitating for a mont, Luo’er decided not to ask her.

On hearing Luo’er talk about it again, Tangmo grew annoyed.

She frowned and said, “If I want to learn, I can understand it.

It’s only been a week since we got here, why are you blaming all the ti!”

“Alright, I’m not blaming you,” Luo’er comforted her, touching her head.

His tone then beca serious again, “Just now I heard soone behind us speaking in English!”

“English?!” Tangmo was surprised, almost shouting out loud.

“Yes, English.

Not that bungled English we heard back at the Sacred Heart Magic Academy, but pure English!” Luo’er confird seriously.

“People in Helros are speaking English?” Tangmo felt a bit confused.

“That’s right!” Luo’er nodded.

“Did you see who was speaking?” Tangmo asked eagerly.

“I didn’t see,” Luo’er shook his head, speaking with regret, “Luckily, we were speaking Tasta language just now, otherwise it would be a serious problem.”

“Serious?” Tangmo asked doubtfully.

“I suspect that CIA personnel have already infiltrated this area,” Luo’er scanned his surroundings while saying with a furrowed brow.

“This place is thousands of kiloters away from Yazhi City.

A round trip from Earth would surely have frozen them.” Tangmo said with disbelief.

“I’m not sure how they managed to avoid this.

Let’s report this information to headquarters right now!” Luo’er instructed.

“Do we report it now?” Tangmo asked.

“Yes,” Luo’er nodded, “We don’t have ti for confirmation.

Let’s alert them first, so they can be prepared!”

“I understand!” Tangmo nodded, then took out a pen and a piece of paper from her bag, she leaned against the wall and began to write a report, while Luo’er observed the situation closely.

Soon after, Luo’er sensed a magic fluctuation behind him.

Turning around, he saw Tangmo tossing a flaming piece of paper onto the ground, then she said, “It’s sent!”

“Well done,” Luo’er nodded, continuing to advise, “Rember, from now on, we should avoid using Chinese as much as possible.

Speak Tasta language when you can, even when you’re cursing at soone, do it in Tasta!”

“I understand, but why do we have to curse?” Tangmo asked, surprised.

“I was just using that as an example.” Luo’er paused caught off guard by her question.
