Chapter 1636: Chapter 1629: Invincible
The blade flashed, and wherever the edge reached, knives, swords, spears, and staffs were all overwheld, reduced to re remnants under Huayu Ting’s strikes.
Of course, when Huayu Ting fought, it wasn’t just as simple as cutting through his opponent’s weapons. After all, he wasn’t one of the Advance Team mbers.
If Huayu Ting didn’t bother to take Wuting Yan seriously, then to him, those manor soldiers hardly even counted as human.
Born in Kyushu, Huayu Ting was capable of viewing mbers of the Demon Clan with equanimity, even having a wife and children of Demon descent. Yet, a commoner was a commoner, and a noble clan was a noble clan—this was an insurmountable chasm.
Compared to the noble clan echelon, the commoner class could barely be considered livestock.
Such deep-seated discrimination was entrenched, and Huayu Ting was rely going along with the tide of the tis.
So, after dismantling the weapons of these warriors, Huayu Ting began to launch his attacks directly against the warriors themselves.
Most of the Wuting warriors were Ba Path cultivators, bold enough to engage in close combat. While they seemingly held a nurical advantage, they seed to forget that Huayu Ting himself was a master of close-quarter combat.
He weaved with agility through the enemy ranks, holding a blade in his right hand while his left hand remained ready to redirect their flows and disrupt their energy channels at any mont.
The mont a warrior’s energy channels were severed, Huayu Ting’s blade would follow through. In the absence of magical resistance, not a single warrior could withstand even one strike from the Kedal tal Blade.
Even warriors clad in silk-thread underarmor and encased in heavy outer plates—defenses that appeared impenetrable—were no match for the edge of the Kedal tal Blade. It only ever took a single stroke; these illusions of durability couldn’t even endure one blow.
Screams filled the air in quick succession. The warriors’ weapons were chopped cleanly to pieces, and their seemingly sturdy inner and outer armors crumbled like butter under a single slice.
So, as soon as Huayu Ting found an opportunity to redirect a warrior’s flow, those without magical defense beca lambs before him, entirely at his rcy, without even a weapon to resist—no weapon could stand up to the Kedal tal Blade.
The battle lasted only fifty-odd exchanges before the scale of victory beca glaringly clear. Huayu Ting slew ten of the Wuting warriors, wounding many others, while all of their weapons were reduced to useless scraps.
The ground was strewn with broken weapon fragnts and severed limbs, the spilled blood of mangled corpses saturating every crevice in the floorboards until they turned crimson.
Huayu Ting stood still, looking sowhat surprised as he stared at the long blade in his hand, his heart swarming with countless questions.
The Kedal tal Blade was far too sharp. Huayu Ting hadn’t intended to create such a grotesque display of dismbered artistry, but as the blade cut through flesh, he felt nothing at all. Often, Huayu Ting didn’t even realize the force of his strikes.
Of course, this scene didn’t faze the Advance Team mbers; though their gazes still flickered, most of them had already grown numb to such sights.
It was Huayu Ting’s first ti wielding the Kedal tal Blade, which caused him to appear sowhat uneasy—hesitating when he should unleash his full strength and shrinking back when he ought to attack proactively. His unfamiliarity with the blade left him unwilling to take risks heedlessly.
On the other hand, Feng, who had already grown completely accustod to the Kedal tal Blade, fought with devastating brutality. Under her hand, dying peacefully with an intact corpse was considered extraordinary luck—most of her defeated enemies couldn’t even assemble their remains.
Luo’er had long struggled and frequently criticized her for this. Though Feng would nod in apparent agreent each ti, no one could possibly guess whether she intended to abide by his words.
The blood of the fallen ford rivers, while the survivors who remained had already lost all courage to confront Huayu Ting. They shrank back in fear, their terrified gazes fixed on Huayu Ting, who seed equally dazed.
“Such astounding divine weaponry—how marvelous!” Even Wuting Yan couldn’t help but let out an astonished exclamation.
Though he had lost over a dozen manor soldiers, it was hardly significant to him. After all, for a man like Wuting Yan, manor soldiers were replenishable. The lives of wandering cultivators and disciples of minor sects and clans were never considered lives—they were expendable pawns.
“Manor Lord, do you intend to continue fighting?” Huayu Ting steadied his mind, flicked his blade, and asked expressionlessly.
“Hmph…” Wuting Yan snorted coldly, refraining from speaking imdiately.
He knew the Advance Team was unwilling to follow him, a fact evident ever since that White Tiger entrusted Huayu Ting with the blade.
He hadn’t planned to wrest the Advance Team from Huayu Ting by force but had hoped to pressure Huayu Ting enough to showcase the power of Wuting and compel the Advance Team to choose a side.
But the results, evidently, were far from ideal.
The confrontation left both him and Huayu Ting equally damaged, neither gaining the upper hand. His warriors had been ruthlessly slaughtered, reduced to stumbling fodder incapable of resistance against Huayu Ting’s onslaught.
From every angle, there was no chance he could take the Advance Team with him today.
Yet Wuting Yan felt no despair, for his backers ford an imnse force—the martial cultivation conglorate known as the Wu Family.
The reason he had “requested” the presence of the Advance Team was to fulfill orders from the Wu Family.
After suffering humiliation at the Huayu Family’s doorstep today, Wuting Yan knew that the disgrace wasn’t only on the Wuting Clan—it also tarnished the prestige of the mighty Wu Family.
In other words, Huayu Ting had effectively provoked the Wu Family.
Realizing this, a semblance of composure returned to Wuting Yan’s heart. Fixing his gaze on Huayu Ting, he asked solemnly, “Huayu Ting, are you truly determined to make an enemy of my Wuting Clan?”
“Ha! Since when has the Wuting Clan garnered so much stature that even the Huayu Family should fear offending them?” Huayu Ting sneered coldly as he retorted.
“Think carefully—you’re not only provoking the Wuting Clan but also the Wu Family,” Wuting Yan said.
“So, Manor Lord admits that the Wuting Clan is simply a lapdog nurtured by the Wu Family? Is that right?” Huayu Ting queried.
“You—how dare you insult my Wuting Clan!” Wuting Yan bristled with anger; it seed that insults to one’s lineage truly struck deep.
“A re second-rate clan dares to act presumptuous before ? Has the Wuting Clan fallen so low that even the most basic decorum has been discarded?” Huayu Ting said unhurriedly.
“As the new Patriarch of the Huayu Family, I represent the entire clan’s dignity. Does the Manor Lord truly think I am so youngster to be casually scolded? How terribly delusional,” Huayu Ting proclaid, his voice growing colder and more resolute.
“Huayu Ting, do you realize that the Wu Family will never spare you once I report back? You are a traitor to the Wu Family!” Wuting Yan abandoned all pretense, discarding courtesy.
“Go, report to your master. Wag your tail as you go—how fitting for the disgrace of your clan. Even with half of your body buried in the dirt, you remain so shalessly unchecked. If anyone’s a traitor, it’s you, who willingly submits to others. And yet you dare claim seniority before !” Huayu Ting retorted rcilessly.
Ever the scholar, Huayu Ting’s insults weren’t rely vitriolic but ticulously articulated, leaving Wuting Yan utterly speechless, his face alternating between white and red as he struggled to form a reply for ages.
“I think Manor Lord has grasped the intent of the sanctity I uphold. I must ask you not to persist further. Stop degrading yourself—it’s simply a task issued by the Wu Family. Why go to such lengths to abase yourself?” Huayu Ting pressed on, his words growing harsher.
“Huayu Ting, is that any way to speak?” Wuting Yan gritted his teeth in fury.
“If it’s humans I speak to, it’s human words. Does the Manor Lord presu I’m imitating a dog’s bark?” Huayu Ting smiled faintly as he calmly ridiculed.
“Glib tongue—nothing more!” Wuting Yan retorted, seething with anger.
“Manor Lord should know exactly what kind of person I am. By engaging in this dialogue, we spare more carnage and conflict. However, if the Manor Lord insists on challenging , I will not hesitate to let what remains of your sorry forces spill their blood here and now,” Huayu Ting declared, his killing intent palpable once more.
“Huayu Ting, are you truly willing to stand against the Wu Family for those Western Continent people?” Wuting Yan questioned again.
“I’ve made myself abundantly clear,” Huayu Ting slowly turned to et Wuting Yan’s gaze and said, “They are my guests. As long as they are within Hua State, I will not allow anyone to harm my guests.”
