1162: Chapter 1155: The Sudden Attack 1162: Chapter 1155: The Sudden Attack Luo’er didn’t feel surprised by this response, and after exchanging a glance with lia, they both couldn’t help but laugh.

While the two were enjoying life on Earth, back on the other side, in Lipei City, Cheng Ziang was summoned to the office.

“Luo’er can’t leave the city, so this task can only be given to you,” Wang Xu said from behind the office desk.

“An assignnt outside the city?” Cheng Ziang asked.

“No, it’s a matter within our territory,” Wang Xu paused before continuing, “A villager from within Lipei ca to report to us.

He said their village has been invaded by an illegal ard force, and the lives of the local residents are in danger.

Go imdiately with your n to check it out.

If it is indeed an illegal invasion, there’s no need for warnings, just eliminate them on sight.”

“Should I go now?” Cheng Ziang asked.

“Yes, depart imdiately.

Take a Mobile Troop squad and the Cavalry sent by Princess lia.

Aim for a rapid response to minimize the loss as much as possible.”

“Yes, sir!” Cheng Ziang saluted and then turned to leave briskly.

“Has the retaliation begun?” Wang Xu watched Cheng Ziang leave, took a deep breath, and muttered to himself.

There were warnings before that Luo’er’s three demands should be pursued further, seizing all the assets of the feudal forces to prevent them from using their wealth to organize opposition forces.

Now it seems those words were prophetic.

The retaliation from the feudal forces seed to have begun.

The failure of the headquarters to seize all their assets now seed like a major oversight.

On the next day, Princess lia’s trip to Earth ca to a temporary end.

Having understood the headquarters’ stance, she was now eager to return to her garrison to organize a new offensive.

She didn’t choose to leave openly but instead quietly crossed the Otherworld Gate with Luo’er, bidding farewell to each other like a couple of lovers.

“I’m about to leave,” lia said, looking at Luo’er.

“Visit often if you have ti,” Luo’er nodded and said.

“Ah,” lia sighed, then asked, “If I lose a battle over there, would you agree to take in as a refugee, even though I might have lost all my value to you by that ti?”

“Of course, I’ll welco you to Lipei, even just as a friend,” Luo’er replied earnestly.

Faced with Luo’er’s sincere expression, lia sighed again and then smiled genuinely, “Sotis, I really wish we could be more than just friends.”

Luo’er understood the aning behind her words, so he dared not ask further and instead lowered his head as his ears slowly began to heat up.

“I have to go now, co and give a hug to say goodbye,” lia said with open arms and a smile.

“Your people in Masya don’t really have a custom of hugging, do they?” Luo’er asked with a wry smile.

“This is my custom, exclusive to you,” lia stated unabashedly.

“I always feel like…” Luo’er started to say, then suddenly closed his mouth, shook his head slightly, and embraced lia in a warm hug.

This wasn’t a re formal embrace.

It was a genuine tight hug.

Although lia often spoke of power over love, every ti she faced Luo’er, she inevitably felt a different kind of affection.

With the warmth of lia close to him, Luo’er squinted his eyes, enjoying the wonderful sensation.

However, when he opened his eyes, he saw a strange man quickly approaching lia.

The man’s right hand was tucked in his chest, and, with a soldier’s instinctual vigilance, Luo’er imdiately realized that the man was likely reaching for a gun.

If the man managed to assassinate Princess lia here, there was no doubt that the headquarters’ influence in the eastern region would completely collapse.

The ard forces under Princess lia would either scatter like birds and animals or turn to view the headquarters as an enemy.

Whichever outco ensued, Lipei would face a threat from the east.

As soon as he thought of this, Luo’er didn’t even have ti to consider himself.

He imdiately turned around while holding lia, switched places with her, and tried to use his own body to block the possible incoming attack.

Just as he turned around, he heard a deafening gunshot from behind him, followed by a numb sensation in his neck, and warm liquid imdiately began to trickle down inside his collar into his clothes.

Luo’er wanted to do sothing, but he felt his body no longer obeyed his commands, so he fell straight to the ground with lia still in his arms.

Fortunately, they were at the entrance to the Otherworld Gate.

The attacker had only fired the first shot before being quickly detected by the standing guard of the Mobile Troop.

Although these mbers of the Mobile Troop had never experienced actual combat, they were nevertheless raised on bullets.

One of them imdiately aid his gun and fired, a precise burst hitting the attacker’s calf.

The attacker lost his balance and fell to the ground.

The surrounding Mobile Troop mbers and rcenaries quickly closed in, kicked away his handgun, then pinned him firmly to the ground.

“Luo’er, Luo’er…” lia called out his na with a trembling voice, staring at Luo’er’s face, which was losing color, and at the blood spurting from his neck.

Luo’er, clutching his neck wound and relieved to see that lia was unhard, finally relaxed and then collapsed beside her as the blood pouring from his neck ford a pool beneath him.

“Luo’er, Luo’er, don’t scare , you’ll be alright…” lia crawled up from the ground, knelt down, and covered his wound with her shaking hands, her voice trembling with sobs.

Soon, two mbers of the Mobile Troop rushed to Luo’er’s side, starting ergency treatnt.

“Carotid artery rupture, severe loss of blood, pressure bandages, give pressure bandages, does anyone know Healing Magic?” one person said urgently while administering first aid.

“Healing my ass, just stop the bleeding and get him to Earth!” a companion cursed impatiently.

“Oh, right, right,” said the other person, scrambling to bandage Luo’er.

“So people, get Captain Luo’er back to Earth, quick!” another yelled out to the rest.

His voice drew more mbers of the Mobile Troop, who, after quickly bandaging him, carried Luo’er through the Otherworld Gate in a disordered manner.

A bewildered Princess lia didn’t think twice, she simply kicked off her shoes, lifted her skirt, and followed close behind Luo’er and his party.

The group passed through the Otherworld Gate, carrying Luo’er as if they were hauling a coffin, sprinting all the way and blocking an unmanned cargo vehicle without bothering about the procedures or the cargo they threw aside.

Once everyone was on board, they hit the ergency button, letting the military’s artificial intelligence take over the vehicle and headed straight for the city hospital.

Generally speaking, the cause of death for most traumatic injuries is excessive loss of blood, which is why they were so impatient.

Luo’er was already showing clear signs of shock, and without imdiate dical attention, they feared it would soon be beyond help.

Because the military’s ergency system had been activated, the unmanned vehicle gained optimal traffic rights on the road, allowing it to maintain speed and reach the hospital without having to give way to pedestrians and other vehicles.

Nowadays, most unmanned vehicles are operated by artificial intelligence, and once the military activates the ergency channel, all civilian vehicles must automatically yield a path according to the AI’s control.

The vehicle raced to the city’s largest hospital.

Amid the surprised stares of onlookers, the fully-ard entourage burst from the vehicle carrying Luo’er and dashed straight into the Ergency Room.

Although they had stopped the blood from Luo’er’s neck, drops of blood could still be seen falling to the ground.

lia was the last one to exit the unmanned vehicle.

Faced with the strange crowds in this unfamiliar environnt, her mind was only filled with concern for Luo’er’s safety.

Seeing him being taken into the Ergency Room and knowing she could be of no help, she sat down on the ground, her head bowed, weeping uncontrollably.

“Young lady, do you need help?” a kindhearted aunt ca forward and asked with concern.

On hearing her, lia suddenly looked up, not because she was touched, but because she couldn’t understand a word the other person was saying.

“Hey, she’s a foreigner, which country are you from, young lady?” Surprised by lia’s exotic and pretty face, the crowd gathered around her curiously.

“Who are you people, what do you want to do?” Faced with the encroaching crowd, lia appeared very flustered, asking in a trembling voice.

“Which country’s language is she speaking, English?” a curious voice sounded from the crowd.

“Excuse , can I help you?” a studious-looking girl with glasses asked in English, offering her assistance.
