1052: Chapter 1045: Argue on the rits 1052: Chapter 1045: Argue on the rits The Wolfman Leader looked at Luo’er suspiciously, stretching out his hand without any courtesy, pointing at him, and said coldly, “I don’t trust you, and we have nothing to talk about, leave imdiately!”

After hearing Taran’s translation, Luo’er slightly smiled, and his attitude was not shaken due to the other’s deanor.

Since the other party was willing to answer his words, it ant that both sides had reached the minimum requirent for communication.

As long as they could communicate, Luo’er was quite willing, after all, he did not like to resort to violence to solve problems.

They were the Advance Team, not bandits.

If there was even a sliver of chance for communication and exchange, he would definitely not miss such opportunity.

“We sincerely beg you to listen to our request, we truly have no intention of being enemies with you; perhaps there was so misunderstanding before, but I wonder, can we resolve it now?”

While speaking, Luo’er walked over to Cheng Ziang, pulled the long saber from behind his back, gave it a brief look over, then lowered the blade down, aiming at the waist of the captured Wolfman.

His action made everyone present change their expression, especially the Wolfman Leader, whose face turned particularly ugly.

If Luo’er killed one of his clansn in front of him, it would undoubtedly be a great loss of face.

If that were the case, then he would only have to fight to the bitter end.

“No matter what you want to do, just don’t hurt him, and everything can be discussed!” The Wolfman Leader stretched out his hand, attempting to stop Luo’er’s action.

After hearing Taran’s translation, Luo’er looked up at him, then lightly drew the long saber, cutting through the nylon ties on the Wolfman’s thumb.

The newly freed Wolfman imdiately struggled to get up, then ran toward their Leader.

In fact, releasing this Wolfman was a risky move for Luo’er, a proactive gesture of goodwill in hopes of receiving goodwill in return.

If successful, Luo’er believed his image in the other’s mind would definitely improve.

But if it failed, the Advance Team would undoubtedly lose their only bargaining chip.

However, such bargaining chips, Luo’er did not care much for them as fighting on soone else’s territory with overwhelming odds against them, having a hostage or not, would not affect the outco of the battle.

So the best course of action was to release the person to gain the other side’s favor, and then to negotiate and compromise with each other.

Luo’er’s plan did not fall through.

After the Wolfman was released the Wolfman Leader checked his injuries briefly, then nodded with satisfaction, turned his head to look at Luo’er, and the hostility in his eyes had clearly diminished a lot.

He stared at Luo’er without blinking, wondering sothing.

After a while, he extended his hand and gently waved, signaling everyone to step back.

Seeing the Leader’s gesture, the crowd exchanged looks, puzzled but obediently slowly retreated.

Seeing him taking the initiative to show goodwill, Luo’er slightly smiled, then took his rifle off, handed it over to Cheng Ziang, and then spread his arms, signaling no hostility while he walked toward the Wolfman Leader, stopping less than two ters in front of him.

“Thank you for your understanding, how should I address you?” Luo’er asked straightforwardly.

“You, are not an Elf?” The Wolfman Leader stared at Luo’er, especially paying attention to his black hair.

“Half-elf,” Luo’er explained.

“No, not that either…” The Wolfman Leader shook his head seriously.

“Have you seen an Elf?” Luo’er asked.

“I have!” The Wolfman Leader answered briefly.

“Alright…” Luo’er nodded.

A few uneventful exchanges passed, and neither side could extract any valuable information from the other.

Even though he showed goodwill, Luo’er was still very cautious, for the other was cautious as well.

“I found a corpse over there, a Beastman’s corpse, was that your doing?” Luo’er asked.

“Do you an those ugly monsters?” The Beastman Leader asked.

“Hmm,” Luo’er nodded lightly.

“They invaded our ho, and this is their price,” the Wolfman Leader replied coldly, not denying their actions.

“It seems you hold much hostility towards outsiders,” Luo’er stated.

“Foreigners are not to be trusted,” the Wolfman Leader answered.

“What about him, then?

He must be considered one of your people, at the very least an acquaintance,” Luo’er said, pointing at Taran.

“Him, huh,” the Wolfman Leader glanced at Taran, snorted angrily, and then said coldly, “Traitors are our enemies as well!”

“We are not traitors!” Taran contended upon hearing this.

“Taran, stay calm.

Translate his words for , and do not speak out of turn.

I will try to resolve your issue!” Luo’er said calmly.

With a look of grievance, Taran turned to Luo’er but took his advice to heart.

He sullenly translated Luo’er’s words.

“If I rember correctly, it was the Overturning Beast that asked you to descend because it knew it was nearing its end, and didn’t wish for you to remain upon it any longer,” Luo’er took a deep breath, starting to diate.

“Foreigner, do not attempt to interfere in our affairs!” the Wolfman Leader pointed at Luo’er and said bluntly.

“The onlooker sees most of the ga; that is confused by being involved, isn’t it?

Precisely because I am an outsider, I can treat this matter objectively, and view your grudges objectively,” Luo’er stated.

His words contained too many new terms, and Taran’s basics weren’t very solid, so it took him quite a while to translate the gist of Luo’er’s words.

Especially that phrase, the onlooker sees most of the ga; that is confused by being involved.

Taran struggled for quite so ti to translate this, leaving the Wolfman Leader looking bewildered.

Whether he understood or not, the Wolfman Leader fell into a long silence after hearing Taran’s translation.

After a long ti, he slowly began to speak.

“The great Lord Leiyun led us from our distant holand to this strange Land of Promise.

After it reached the land, everyone left it, only we stayed, accompanying the lonely being until the end of its life.

What do you call their actions?

Ingratitude and shalessness!” the Wolfman Leader said coldly.

Luo’er was sowhat surprised by the Wolfman Leader’s words because they were very logical and didn’t sound like sothing a secluded, lost civilization could articulate.

Clearly, although isolated, the civilization of the Wolfman Clan had not regressed.

From his words, Luo’er gathered the following information: firstly, the Overturning Beast had a na, called Leiyun.

Luo’er didn’t quite understand the East Continent people’s naming conventions, likely nad after the weather.

Calling cumulonimbus clouds ‘thunderclouds’ was perhaps for naming the Overturning Beasts.

“I find it hard to agree with your viewpoint,” Luo’er began after a brief analysis, “Firstly, it wasn’t that everyone scattered upon reaching the New Continent but rather that your Lord Leiyun instructed you to leave, and everyone simply followed its wish.

You chose to stay against its will—you shouldn’t bla others for this as it appears quite unreasonable.”

“Even if it was Lord Leiyun’s wish, they should not have left imdiately.

That’s too heartless and thoughtless.

Lord Leiyun was gravely injured for everyone’s sake, yet not a single person was willing to heal it.

Everyone left!” the Wolfman Leader roared at Luo’er.

“And what about those of you who stayed?

Did you heal your Lord Leiyun?

No, you didn’t; in the end, you simply watched it die.

It was already at the end of its lifespan; why bla others for this?” Luo’er argued with reason.

“What do you an!?” the Wolfman Leader exploded in anger upon hearing Luo’er’s words, eyes bulging and teeth clenched, he asked.

His canine teeth were indistinguishable from those of a wild beast, both sharp and long, still lethal.

Humans also have canine teeth, but they have gradually degenerated due to improvents in living conditions.

“I am rely stating the truth.

Since you couldn’t save your Lord Leiyun, why demand everyone stay?

Everyone ca to the New Continent seeking to survive.

If we cluster together and do nothing, who will provide for so many?” Luo’er retorted.
