100: Chapter 96: Exploring the Secret Passage Again 100: Chapter 96: Exploring the Secret Passage Again Ti quickly turned to night.

Luo’er had been hiding in the kitchen, not daring to wander around the academy for fear of bumping into Tangmo again.

Finally, late into the night, Luo’er stretched lazily, easing the fatigue of a day’s work, and then braced himself for a night expedition to the archive room.

He put on his unidentifiable costu again, covering his face with a towel.

Except for Tangmo, nobody in the academy knew his real identity.

Therefore, he had to be extra careful to prevent his whereabouts from being exposed and implicating Tangmo.

He sneaked to the periter of the building again, but this ti he was not as composed.

Since there were no activities in the academy, the guards patrolled as usual.

It took Luo’er quite a while to find an opportunity where a sentry was caught off guard and he sneaked into the building.

As usual, he walked through the empty corridors bathed in the moonlight streaming in through the colored skylights, lending an eerie atmosphere that sent a chill down even the brave Luo’er’s spine.

Upon reaching the library, Luo’er looked around before proceeding.

He didn’t rush in, but instead waited in a dark corner for the right mont.

He didn’t know if the insider of the academy was there too, and it would spell trouble if they were to run into each other.

Ti ticked by every second, and Luo’er gradually got used to the darkness.

In the pitch-black corner, he could start to make out the silhouettes of so objects.

After confirming that no one was in the archives or planning to enter, Luo’er prepared to start.

He slowly approached the door, then took out the magic crystal used to unlock doors and touched it to the input point, while silently reciting spells.

“Click!” The door was easily opened, even making a sowhat audible sound that made his scalp tingle.

However, it didn’t cause any disturbance in magical energy so he didn’t need to worry too much.

According to Cheng Ziang, he was noticed by the mage last ti because he used magic to activate the door, causing a disturbance in magical energy.

Obviously, the mage he fought against was extraordinary; being able to detect such minor disturbances showed the high level of his magical ability.

Luo’er stealthily snuck in and then slowly closed the door.

There was no light inside, thus confirming his earlier suspicion that no one was waiting for him.

This eased his nerves a bit.

He walked straight to the movable table and began to carefully inspect it.

After looking at the table inside and out, he found nothing unusual about the table itself but the floor seed to be peculiar.

He gently knocked on the wooden plank and heard the sound of an empty cavity, indicating that the floor underneath was hollow.

Luo’er gently wiped the dust from the floor and noticed sothing unusual.

The floor seed to have so material etched on it, but even with moonlight reflecting off of it, he could not see the material, only feeling it when his fingertips brushed over it.

He originally wanted to use the magic crystal to trigger the chanism, but it was clear that facing an unseen magic array, it would be difficult to find the magic input point by feel alone.

Perhaps Tangmo could do it, but it was impossible to bring her over at the mont.

After much hesitation, Luo’er decided to use his magic wand to trigger the chanism.

He took out his wand, aid it at the chanism, and began to silently recite the spell he had heard that day.

A brief spell was invoked, the chanism made a click, and a magic array on the floor lit up instantly before fading imdiately.

Following that, the floor began to creak open, revealing a dark hole.

Damn, just as expected!

After so deliberation, Luo’er gathered his courage and decided to risk entering the hole to find out what was inside.

He agilely climbed into the dark hole, barely extending his leg out when he hit a wooden staircase.

He began to cautiously descend the steps.

The stairs were about five ters high.

By the ti Luo’er slowly reached the bottom, his eyes had gradually adjusted to the darkness.

A long, narrow tunnel appeared before him.

He tread slowly along the tunnel, being careful not to bump into anything and make a sound.

The tunnel seed to have been recently dug and was still under construction.

Luo’er could clearly sll the damp earth in the air.

Slowly advancing along the tunnel, after about a hundred ters, his surroundings started to widen.

Following a closer inspection, Luo’er found that he had made his way into an underground warehouse.

There were more than ten wooden boxes placed inside.

Upon entering, one could imdiately sll the pervasive scent of lubricating oil.

Luo’er walked over to the boxes and began to inspect one.

The box, made of roughly hewn planks, had wooden spikes that were easy to feel.

Judging from the silhouette he could make out in the dark and the feel of the box, Luo’er boldly guessed that the boxes were full of firearms.

If so, Luo’er was sowhat perplexed.

Who exactly would transport Earth’s firearms to a warehouse under the Magic Academy, and what did they plan to do with these weapons?

Just as he was about to open a box to investigate further, he suddenly saw a light coming from the other side of the warehouse.

He quickly stood up and hid in a dark corner, using the crates as cover.

The light was approaching, emanating from an oil lamp.

Accompanying the light were two burly n.

Illuminated by the lamp, Luo’er could see they were not of the Aud race, as their faces had mixed features.

“Damn, these things are right under our noses, why do we have to have night shifts keeping an eye on them?” One of the n complained.

“Quiet!

If these weapons disappear, we’ll pay for it.

The boss insists that nothing go awry this ti.

If sothing does happen and we get ratted out, not only will we pay, but our families won’t survive either,” one of them said.

“Hmm, once that thing activates, everyone in the academy will be like money in our pockets, ready to be manipulated as we please.

A group of old farts, their fighting ability is less than that of a novice policeman!” said the man coldly.

“We didn’t co to ss things up.

The boss has given us explicit orders.

If you recklessly ruin things, I will kill you before the boss gets a chance,” warned the other man.

The two n continued to talk and walk, with Luo’er seeing clearly that they were a tall and a short individual.

They were dressed in ordinary Otherworld clothing.

Arriving at the center of the warehouse, they sat on one of the crates, and the taller man placed the oil lamp on a wooden slab, yawning.

“Are you tired?” The shorter man asked, noticing.

“Of course I am, it’s so late,” the tall man replied as he stifled another yawn.

“How about we find a spot to nap?

The stuff here isn’t going anywhere,” suggested the short man.

“Forget it, do your night shift properly, stop trying to cut corners,” lectured the tall man.

“Ever wonder why you’ve never stood out in front of the boss?

It’s because your laziness has not gone unnoticed.”

After the tall man declined, the short man seed disappointed and turned his head away from him, clearly bored.

“Why aren’t you talking?” Unable to stand the silence, the tall man asked.

“I have nothing to say to a guy like you!” The shorter man replied crossly.

“Let’s talk about the mission, shall we?” the taller one suggested.

“Do not refer to work during break ti,” the shorter one said.

“We’re working now!” the taller one stated.

“Shut up.

We’ve gone through the mission many tis.

If we discuss it again, I might just vomit,” the shorter one waved his hand dismissively.

“Are you angry?” the taller one asked.

“Are you blind?” the shorter one cursed.

“Sorry, the lamp is too dim!” As the taller one said this, he reached for the lamp, his hand hit the lamp and knocked it over.

The entire warehouse suddenly beca darker.

“What’s the purpose of turning off the light?” the shorter one inquired.

“I knocked over the lamp!” the taller one replied.

“Are you an idiot?” unable to contain himself, the shorter one cursed.

“Will the lamp fire cause these weapons to explode?” the taller one asked.

“These are magic weapons from Otherworld, do you think they’re afraid of your lamp fire?” the shorter one sneered.

“Did you bring a flint?” the taller one asked.

“Damn!” After searching his person, the shorter one replied regretfully, ” I lost my Otherworld flint.

It was great – it sparked a fire at the lightest touch!”

“So we can’t light the lamp?” the taller one asked.

“Isn’t that obvious!” the shorter one replied irritably.

“Should we go back and get the flint?” the taller one suggested, slightly nervously.

“Shut up, who said we needed to guard the warehouse!” the shorter one refused.

“But I’m a little scared…” said the taller one weakly.

“Is there anything to be afraid of?” the shorter one said, kicking a wooden box beside him in anger.

The sound of tal clashing echoed from inside the box, “these Otherworld weapons won’t eat you!”

“Let’s chat a bit more!” the taller one suggested.

The shorter one remained silent.

Luo’er guess that he’d had enough already.

Luo’er stayed in the corner for a while.

The two n were sitting against the wooden boxes, clearly not intending to leave tonight.

So, he planned to seize an opportunity to quietly return to the stairs.

As he was about to move, sothing the shorter man said made him stop in his tracks.

“When will the operation begin?” asked the shorter man.

“Should be in the next few days.” The taller one replied hesitantly, “The exact timing depends on when that guy from the academy sends the signal.”

“Why does that guy from the academy get to call the shots?

Who does he think he is?

He’s just slightly more magically talented than us.” the shorter man declared angrily.

“Don’t say that.

Infiltrating the academy is dangerous.

Just a few days ago, that guy Xiluo died without any clear reason.” the taller man said with a lingering fear.

“Xiluo, the relative of the big shot?” the shorter man asked.

“Yeah, that’s the guy!” the taller one replied.

“How did he die?

Was it the elderly folks at the academy?” the shorter man asked.

“Shouldn’t be, it seems there’s another force that has infiltrated the academy.

Xiluo must’ve been killed by them,” the taller one replied.

“So that’s why the big shot urged us to launch the mission soon!” the shorter man realized.

“Yes, the big shot is afraid of another mishap that’s why we were ordered to carry out the plan sooner.

Otherwise, we would have waited until all the students gathered.” the taller one confird.

“Speaking of those students, they are all heirs and heiresses of the aristocracy.

Just imagine the taste…

Tsk tsk tsk!” the shorter one exclaid, his language becoming increasingly vulgar.

“Don’t get any ideas.

If their families find out, you’re done for, not even the big shot can save you.” the taller one advised.

“Relax, I won’t target the big shots.

But those newly minted nobles…

He he he!!!” the shorter man said with an evil laugh.
