As soon as Callum finished speaking, so vans and a crowd rushed into the hospital premises.

One look at their caras and microphones and Kelsie didn’t have to think too hard about who they were.

The hospital security wouldn’t let them into the building, hence, they camped outside waiting for Jett Adler.

Five minutes later, the entrance door opened and Jett strolled out with Eric Lance who instantly beca busy as he pushed back the reporters shoving their caras and microphones into Jett’s face.

"Mr. Adler, is it true your grandfather is in coma?"

"What will happen to you now?"

"Will you be taking full control of your family’s resources now since you’re his favorite grandson?"

"There are rumors that you are into n, is any of it true?"

"There are also rumors that you did sothing to your grandfather, what do you have to say about it?"

"A word, please!"

Jett, however, ignored them all until he got to the car.

As Eric drove out of the hospital, he glanced at his aloof boss through the rear-view mirror.

"The vice-president called for an ergency board etings five minutes ago."

Jett unhurriedly crossed his leg and glanced outside the car window, ordering in a a calm voice, "Head to the company."

"Yes, sir."

Thirty minutes later, Eric stopped the car in front of the company’s building and rushed out to open the door for Jett.

As he got back into the car to park properly, Jett began strutting into the building.

He lightly humd to the greetings of the staffs as he headed straight to the elevator. A minute later, he was in in the corridor which led to the conference room.

The first person he noticed as he walked into the room was a young man who seed to be in his late twenties sitting at the head of the table, a seat reserved only for the company’s president.

The badge on him read ’Vice President Boyce Adler’.

Despite seeing Jett, he didn’t care to get up and openly gave him a spiteful look.

"Jett, you’re late. As the vice-president, I called a eting over thirty minutes ago, so why is it you’re just coming now? That is not a good example to set for our employees."

In response to his words, Jett slipped his hands into his pockets and said coldly, "Mr. Vice President, it seems to you’ve forgotten your place."

Boyce Adler’s brows knitted into a tight frown seeing the condescending look in Jett’s eyes.

This cousin of his had talked and looked down on him so many tis in the past just because he was made the company president.

He, on the other hand, had to serve and take orders from him. As soone who felt he should’ve been the company president, taking orders from Jett greatly hurt his pride.

But he couldn’t exactly complain since their grandfather had Jett’s back. Hence, he could only sit back and grit his teeth in anger, planning for a day when Jett wouldn’t have their grandfather’s back.

So when he heard that his grandfather had fallen into a coma, the first thing he did was leak the news to the press.

Jett had also kept their grandfather’s coma a secret which inevitably put him in a bad spot now that everyone found out about it.

The reporters and dia who were ever so hungry for news about Jett would use the opportunity to write articles about him, ssing up his reputation.

Soone whose personal life was a ss wasn’t a good fit for the position of president.

Furthermore, in preparation for this day, he already spoke to a handful of shareholders and gotten their support.

That was the only reason he dared to sit on the president’s seat and act all unbothered.

Yet, despite everything he had done, Jett remained calm. He still even dared to look down on him.

Sothing he would condone if their grandfather was around, but since he wasn’t, he would teach this rascal the lesson of his life right before he’d snatch the company from his grasp!

Boyce leaned back and gently tapped his index finger against the table as he snickered, "Is that how you talk to soone who decided to hold down the fort for you after seeing the ss you’re in?"

"I sacrifice myself to help you and the first thing you ask is if I’ve forgotten my place? President Adler, I get that you look down on , but you should learn to be ungrateful!"

"Had I not taken control of the company when I did, our stock price would be plumting right now!"

"Did you see how empty our gate was? How you drove in without having people putting microphones to your mouth and pointing their caras at you? That’s all because of !"

"While you were off doing god-knows-what and not taking care of our grandfather, I’ve been here running Adler Group and overseeing our subsidiaries."

At this point, a few of the shareholders were nodding their heads in agreent and giving Jett an obvious contemptuous look.

Jett was silent for several seconds before he slipped a hand out of his pocket and gently felt his temple, creasing his brows thoughtfully.

"You’re confusing here. You are the Vice President of Adler Group which ans when the President isn’t available to take care of issues, you should take care of them on his behalf. Why does it sound like you’re complaining about doing your job?"

His eyes then hardened.

"I pay you to do your job, so what made you think you’re doing a favor by doing them?"

Boyce Adler imdiately pressed his lips into a thin line, unable to retort knowing Jett was making sense.

So he instead slamd his palm against the table and pointed a shaky finger at him, his entire body trembling in rage.

"What is this? How dare you be so ungrateful? Did you throw out the window all the manners our Adler family has painstakingly taught you all the years?"

Voice as flat as the conference table, Jett moved his face towards Boyce’s and retorted coldly, "It’s solely because you bear the sa last na as that I haven’t called security to drag you out of here."

"Calling an ergency eting that I didn’t authorize and sitting in my seat, just who do you think you are?"
