As soon as her words fell, everyone exhaled in relief.

But the next second, she suddenly reached out and snatched out the straw from the woman’s throat, loosing the hair that was used to tie the bleeding vessel in the process.

A hush imdiately fell.

They were so shocked they couldn’t bring themselves to say anything and just watched with bated breaths.

Laura also froze in place, her brain going blank as the woman’s crimson blood spattered all over her.

Almost imdiately, the pregnant woman started gasping for air again, her face turning blue as cyanosis instantly kicked in.

Kelsie hurriedly pushed Laura aside to take control of the situation.

Because of how dire the situation was, she had no ti to spare to look for the removed straw.

Hence, she sterilized her fingers with the remaining alcohol and carefully stuck it into the woman’s throat to maintain her airway, while her other hand tore apart a side of her shirt, using it to reapply pressure on the bleeding incision site.

She had just stabilized the woman for the second ti when two nurses and a doctor rushed out of the hospital with a stretcher and a small kit.

After stabilizing her breathing and stopping her bleeding with better materials, the female doctor’s eyes flickered between the two won.

Naturally, it landed on Kelsie whom she had seen sticking two fingers into the woman’s throat.

She had been a doctor for more than five years and still couldn’t perform that procedure on a normal day.

But this person who seed to look at least ten years younger than her had done it in such a dire situation.

Any doctor eager to learn would be tempted to sit Kelsie down and ask her how she did it, her included.

But while she was tempted to do so, she knew her primary focus should be on the pregnant woman.

So she decided to forgo the chance and was about to slip into the hospital with the patient when Kelsie held her back.

"I perford an ergency cricothyrotomy using improvised materials. So don’t forget to check for infections."

The doctor nodded and proceeded to leave.

As soon as she left, those who had accused Kelsie of trying to kill the pregnant woman swallowed back their words in embarrassnt.

To make up for their mistake, they turned to lash out at the actual person who tried to kill the woman.

"You are a neurosurgeon, my foot! How many people have you killed while claiming to be one?!"

"Wasn’t she the one who got out of this jeep? She scared the poor pregnant woman into blanking out, but instead of coming out to do sothing for her, she remained inside. How irresponsible!"

"It’s clear she was waiting for her to die before doing anything so she could call it an accident."

"If this gorgeous doctor wasn’t here, that poor woman would’ve died by the hands of this girl."

"If she’s really a neurusugeon, then we should petition for no hospital to accept her. Imagine what it’d be like to be in an operating room with her in charge."

"That thought made shiver. The person on her table would surely die. Let’s dig into her and make sure she never becos a surgeon in the future."

"Yes, I agree with you."

"anwhile, I’ll like that gorgeous doctor to be my surgeon. I was almost peeing my pants when she made that incision, but she remained so calm."

"I bet her surgery success rates is very high. I have to find out the hospital she works at."

"I can’t believe I cussed her out earlier. This foul mouth of mine! What if she picks offense later and refuses to operate on in the future?"

Laura was still so dazed after seeing that much blood and didn’t hear them cussing her out.

Kelsie, on the other hand, suddenly realized the state of her clothes and without sparing Laura a glance, turned and began walking away.

But she had just walked past a black rcedes when the door to the back passenger seat suddenly opened and a hand shot out of it.

Her first instinct was to slam the door against the hand before a familiar voice yelled out in panic.

"If you break my hand out of self-defense, I won’t let it slide!"

She quickly paused, a small smile breaking out on her face as she raised her eyes to look at the flashy woman inside the car.

Running her eyes through the light blue three piece suit she was putting on, Kesie leaned on the car door and raised a questioning brow.

"Do you have extra clothes with you?"

Jade crossed her arms across her chest and humd, the corners of her lips curling up into a proud smile.

"Did you actually keep soone alive by making an airway wiht your fingers? Hey, you keep getting amazing by the day."

Kelsie moved away from the car door and snorted.

"Make ask you where the clothes are nd I’ll flag down a taxi."

"There are so clothes in the back." Jade scoffed lightly and lowered her eyes to her thighs, mumbling incoherently, "Always so aggressive."

anwhile, after getting a grip on herself, Laura sauntered into her car and parked properly.

Ignoring people’s eyes, she hurried off into the female restroom to wash off the blood on her.

When she heard footsteps, she quickly went into a stall to hide.

)

Inside, she she had no choice, but to listen to the conversation of the three girls who had just walked in.

"Did you hear what happened outside? Apparently, so girl said she studied neurosurgery and almost got a pregnant woman killed."

"She’s lucky nothing happened to the pregnant woman. No hospital would agree to hire her if she caused soone’s death even before becoming a first year. "

"Taking in soone like picking up a ticking ti bomb. It’ll only be a matter of ti before she kills another person."

There was a brief silence as soone’s phone chid.

"Soone from the departnt group chat said Prof. Callahan is in the lobby now!"

Almost imdiately, all three of them eagerly rushed out of the restroom.
