All four n were instantly stunned.

Scared? She is so scared? She actually dared to refer to herself using that word!

Kelsie ignored their accusing looks and ended the call before lowering her eyes to look at them.

"Don’t struggle too much or you’ll end up going into cardiac arrest before the cops and paradics get here."

Then she walked past them to Serbian Howard.

She swept her gaze over him. Confirming he had no serious injury, took out her phone and asked pointedly, "Do you walk around with your cheque book or will you be transferring the money?"

Serbian snapped out of his daze and painfully straightened up on his feet.

"I’ll transfer you the money." He replied groggily, reaching into his pocket for his phone, but suddenly realized he no longer had it.

When these thugs grabbed him, the first thing they broke was his phone just to avoid him calling the cops on them.

He raised his eyes and said apologetically, "I don’t have a phone now, but give your bank account number and I will transfer it to you as soon as I get one."

Kelsie huffed lightly.

"Why should I believe you’ll do that? You’re under no obligation to. In fact, you could report for trying to rob you."

As she spoke, Serbian knitted his brows into a small frown, realizing she looked familiar.

"Have we t before?"

Kelsie ignored his question and handed him her phone.

"Put your phone number. I’ll text you my details in two days. Make sure to get a phone before then."

"Even though I don’t have a reason to, but I want to trust you’re a man of your word."

The man was rendered speechless, but he couldn’t bring himself to think of what to say.

He was, however, impressed.

"Here. I’m Serbian Howard, what is yours?" He asked, handing her back her phone.

She took it from him and slipped into her pocket with the words, "I never said I want to be your friend."

Then she turned around and left, leaving him speechless again.

But this ti, a faint smile crept onto his face.

Kelsie quickly forgot what had just happened and continued following the map on her phone until she got to the school.

As soon as she did, she heard the loud police sirens echoing behind her.

It was a quiet district, so of course she could hear it miles away.

Her eting with the director and vice director finished very quickly and in less than thirty minutes, she was walking back to the road carrying her children’s school materials.

Just as she was about to flag down a taxi, the phone in her pocket began buzzing.

She took it out to see it was Callum Shaw.

"Kelsie, wasn’t it neurosurgery you studied abroad?" The man asked as soon as the call connected.

"Why?"

"One of the hospital’s neurosurgeons got caught in a dical malpractice and has been relieved of his position."

"The hospital is in a tight spot right now and needs a replacent as soon as possible, but there has been no noteworthy candidates yet."

"The pay is good and the hours are flexible. Furthermore, you’ll have a special employnt."

Kelsie was silent for a mont before she humd disinterestedly, "Oh? What does that have to do with ?"

Callum Shaw sighed on the other end.

"I see you’re not interested. The hospital is really in a tight spot and with the drug we’re working on, we can’t afford to let them have anyone working on the project."

"I would really appreciate it if you can help us out temporarily. I’ll speak with the hospital and have them let you choose your ti and schedule. If you accept to work for them just until they find a replacent."

Kelsie pressed her lips into a thin line and said nothing for a mont.

Fearing she’d refuse again, the man hurriedly added, "You were quite popular abroad. Once they hear who you are, they won’t dare to underpay you!"

Knowing he wouldn’t take no for an answer and continue pestering her, she casually waved him aside, "Okay. I’ll think about it. I’m hanging up now."

She then slipped the phone into her pocket and flagged down a coming taxi.

As soon as she rested her head behind her, and closed her eyes, the phone in her pocket began buzzing again. This ti, she answered it without bothering to know who the caller was.

A decision she regretted almost imdiately when the loud voice that ca out as soon as she answered, almost rendered her deaf.

)

"You must think you’re now grown enough to disobey ! Listen to , if you do not get here in the next thirty minutes, I will not just disown you, I will burn your mother’s things!"

Her eyes instantly flew open and her grip on the phone tightened.

Her breathing changed as well.

Hearing the fast, obviously angry breathing, Jerry Sutton knew he struck a sore nerve and snickered.

"I dare you to co later than thirty minutes and you’ll et your mother’s things burning outside the house!"

Then she heard the line go dead as he hung up imdiately.

"Sir, please take into town instead." Kelsie leaned forward to say to the driver who nodded and reversed.

Then she leaned back again and sealed her eyes shut.

She didn’t realize it until she beca a teenager, but she had no photos of her mother.

And her belongings which definitely had a few photos of her were taken by Jerry who, for so reason, thought he was supposed to lock them up sowhere.

She had begged him and even done nurous things for him in the past to have them, but he always refused.

Because of this, she temporarily forgot about it and didn’t bother to ask him for them and she tried to look for them herself all to no avail.

Along the line, this father of hers must’ve realized she bore a strong attachnt to them and was now threatening her with it.

She expected nothing more from him.

Her mother had a fine taste for everything and knew exactly what she wanted, but why she ever wanted a man like Jerry Sutton enough to actually marry him always baffled her.

Besides his good looks and love for money, he had no skills and lacked everything else.

She couldn’t even say her mother was attracted to him because of his background since she didn’t know if he had any.

"Ma’am, we’re here."

Kelsie peeled her eyes open, returning back to the present when the driver called out to her.

She alighted and paid him before walking straight to the Sutton family house.

When she arrived, Jerry Sutton directly handed her a piece of paper.

"You’ve made a huge ss involving not just your sister, but for our Sutton family and Lun Group."

"It’ll be harder now to control the shareholders unless I control the majority amount of shares."

"That is the shares transfer agreent. The least you can do to clean up this ss is to sign it then publicly tell everyone that what happened last night was just a prank between you sisters."
