Molly was dumbstruck at the sight.

Not only was Luca screaming the loudest, his stark white hair had also drawn the attention of nearly everyone in the ergency room.

For a man of his age, it was a bold choice. People were so fascinated, they couldn’t bring themselves to look away.

"It hurts! Make it stop! I said to fucking make it stop!" He scread repeatedly, thrashing in every direction.

He was sweating profusely and moving constantly, making him more slippery than an eel. Hence, it was nearly impossible for the doctor to properly examine him.

Even the staff trying to hold down his legs were thrown off by his struggle, prompting more to be called in for help.

Once they managed to pin him down, the doctor didn’t bother trying to diagnose him and simply injected sothing into his neck, causing him to fall asleep within seconds.

"H-how?" Was all Molly could manage in her daze.

All these months, Luca had hidden so well. Most of the ti, even she didn’t know where he was.

And yet Kelsie, who had never even t him before, just happened to find him hiding in plain sight?

"I added this pill Zade made once. I don’t really know the ingredients, but he ntioned sothing about internal itching and hotness around the chest." Kelsie said, demonstrating with her hands as if responding to her thoughts.

"How did you find him? It’s impossible to find Luca Langford." Molly gritted her teeth, swallowing hard.

Kelsie leaned back in the wheelchair, calmly tapping her finger against the armrest as Molly’s question made her reflect her life for the past few weeks.

Molly was the only consistent thing in her life as a doctor in Silicon Valley. And since she had never seen her smoking, she never suspected the cigarette could’ve co from her.

Furthermore, for soone who smoked so many packets, it was strange Molly never ca in slling like it—not even after a quick break outside.

So she checked several weeks of surveillance footage and found nothing suspicious. Until she rembered she had access to the street caras.

That’s when she saw it.

Molly, always running errands, would slip into a corner no one would suspect to smoke after returning.

So after Molly stord out yesterday, it only took a few hours for one of her contacts to get back to Kelsie with a live picture of Molly at a hotel.

She didn’t think it possible that the man who had tornted her all these years would be there so she rely told them to keep an eye out.

After her court hearing, she intended to go to the hotel herself. But supposing she didn’t, her instruction to them was to harm Molly and anyone with her—so they wouldn’t co after her children.

Now, when she woke up and saw Molly beside her, she grew curious knowing her contacts hadn’t heard from her for hours and thus, would’ve pushed through with her instruction to them.

Frankly speaking, finding Luca here was a bet she didn’t think would go through.

Zade said whoever consud the pill would scream painfully for several hours before they beca bloated if they weren’t attended to.

So when she heard his gut-wrenching scream, she realized it was him.

"Does that an you knew Serbian would try to kill you during your arraignnt?" Molly asked when Kelsie didn’t respond to her initial question.

Kelsie pursed her lips.

That... she hadn’t known.

She realized too late that the arraignnt was going smoother and faster than expected.

The police had chased her down and even brought her in for interrogation, yet the prosecutor assigned to her case had such a weak argunt.

She thought it was because Jane was just that good until Jane herself ntioned that it was indeed going too well.

When Serbian showed up, she couldn’t move fast enough without putting Jane in danger. So she simply shifted her body and protected her head.

Thinking of how things could’ve gone south very quickly, she clenched her fist tightly before throwing her head backward to look up at Molly.

"Why do you care? Shouldn’t you be thanking for taking care of your major problem?"

Molly smiled bitterly.

"Sure, Luca Langford is a terrible man. But you know nothing about where you’re from. Otherwise, you’d know he’s nothing but a small fry."

Kelsie scoffed and lowered her face again. "I don’t care where I co from. Luca touched my kid. I’m fine as long as he’s out of the way."

Molly’s grip on the wheelchair tightened as she hissed.

"Kill the shepherd not the sheeps. As long as the shepherd remains, he could always get more flocks. Kill , it doesn’t an anything. Luca, on the other hand, is nothing but a puppet."

Kelsie’s eyes darkened and Molly continued.

"Why do you think your mother, despite being engaged to a tech tycoon, ran away from him?"

"She wasn’t a fool. She knew better than anyone that the Langford family’s engagent to the Kensingtons wasn’t nearly enough."

"If Luca Langford disappears, those power-hungry fools back ho will just appoint another puppet."

"But mark my words—you will have to kill Luca and hide his body sowhere no one would find it if you wish to remain safe."

However, Kelsie outrightly stated, "I found him. I’ll do whatever I want with him."

"Molinda is right." Her words had just fallen when a voice rang out from behind them.

Spurning around, Molly’s heart almost leapt out of her chest. For a mont, she forgot to wheel the chair around for Kelsie to see who had spoken.

Maxwell stepped forward, stopping in front of Kelsie and peering into her face before extending his hand for a handshake.

"Hi, I’m Maxwell Kensington. I was your mother’s fiancé before she left ."

Kelsie regarded his outstretched hand with indifference, making no effort to take it.

He chuckled.

"Even the attitude is the sa. Lois didn’t take my handshake the first ti we t either. Had the sa suspicious look in her eyes."

He calmly retracted his hand, slipping it into his pocket as he turned to look at Luca.

Then his gaze drifted to the man on the bed next to him.

Recognizing him, his pupils dilated, and his legs moved of their own accord.

Standing over Jerry Sutton’s body, his expression dimd.

This... was the man Lois had been seeing back then. He’d once hacked into her computer and found ultrasound pictures of Kelsie, along with a family portrait that included Jerry.

He’d been so love-struck, he printed out the ultrasound photos and decorated a nursery with both male and female thes as he never got to know the child’s gender until now.
