Throughout that morning and even the entire afternoon upon until evening, Kelsie didn’t hear from Jett.

Since Zade and Keira didn’t have school and wanted to et their brother, she brought them to the hospital.

But this ti, rumors didn’t spread.

The chances of a woman having twins wasn’t very high and to have triplets was considered impossible.

So since the children seed to be of the sa age as Jesse, they naturally concluded Zade and Keira were his friends Ron school.

Kelsie sat in a corner of Jesse’s ward, going through the chart of a patient when Keira insisted on peeling an apple for her brother, so Kelsie handed her a rubber knife.

After ruining three apples, she suddenly threw down the knife, fuming in frustration.

"Actually, I think apple tastes better when they’re not peeled."

"I rember telling you that as well." Jesse mused, not taking his eyes off the sports news on the television.

Beside Keira, Zade was of another opinion.

"Still, doesn’t it have bacterias on it? I an, who knows how many hands have touched it?"

"When did you beco a germaphobe? You eat practically anything and everything." Keira turned to him in surprise.

Zade faked a cough.

"I’m just saying, Jett needs to eat healthy. Although I don’t think a few bacterias should harm him. In fact, forget I said anything."

Jesse picked up an apple and bit into it, saying in-between mouthfuls, "You’re babbling a lot today. There’s no need to keep talking just to keep company."

The words had just rolled off his tongue when Zade exhaled in relief.

"Really? My goodness. I read sowhere that victims of school violence feel down after the incident."

"I’ve been walking around on eggshells all these while when you weren’t even affected by what happened. Jesse Sutton, how could you be so cruel to your one and only brother?"

Keira imdiately hissed.

"Zade Sutton, don’t raise your voice at my brother! Don’t you see he’s in the hospital?"

Zade abruptly went mum. But the next second, he turned towards her to complain sullenly.

"What do you an, your brother? Is he the only brother you have?"

"I never said that. He’s just the brother who’s hospitalized. So don’t be an to him."

As if to add fuel to the fire, Jesse nodded in agreent.

"Yes, don’t be an to . Have so conscience, will you?"

"Con-conscience..." Zade stuttered in disbelief, then turned his attention to Kelsie, feigning a cry, "Mommy, Jesse and Keira are ganging up on "

Kelsie raised her eyes to look at them.

Promptly, Keira slid her arm across Zade’s neck, drawing him closer to her with a bright smile.

"Don’t be like that, my sweet big brother. Next ti when you beco the target of school violence, Jesse and I will be nice to you."

Zade was about to accept this seeming apology of hers when he realized there was sothing wrong with it.

He was just about to pin-point what it was when the door to the ward was pushed open and Amy yer walked in.

The one second distraction succeeded in making him forget what he was about to say.

The triplets mumbled a greeting to her before turning their attention back to each other.

Amy was stunned by the sight of them for a mont before she slipped both hands into her coat pocket and walked to stand in front of Kelsie.

"The hospital called a disciplinary hearing for you. I hear soone from the committee will soon be here to pass the news."

She then paused and exhaled heavily. "I know it was a close call and sothing might’ve happened to that patient had you not arrived when you did, but you operated on him regardless and there were no complications."

"The patient doesn’t seem to hold any grudge against you and won’t be suing anyone, so I don’t understand why they’re trying to blow this out of proportion."

Kelsie smiled softly, lowering her eyes to the chart again.

"I heard Haven dical Center is really strict when it cos to things like this."

Amy hesitated before she spoke up.

"They are, but worse things have happened to the patients of other doctors who intentionally arrived late on the day of an important surgery."

"Unlike yours, their patients all ended up with one disability or the other and one ti, soone even died under the table because of the surgeon’s negligence."

"They say Mr. Reynolds recruited you, but if soone he personally brought into the hospital is going through such a tough ti, shouldn’t he at least speak up for them or be on their side?"

"After all, the surgery was a successful one and the patient didn’t wake up with any disability."

Kelsie didn’t reply imdiately.

She already knew most of the hospital staffs didn’t like her. Especially the high-ranking staffs.

But that was fine. She didn’t need them to like her anywhere. Once she got her hands on her mother’s dical chart, she’d be sure to get out of their hair.

"This seems to bother more than it bothers you, why is that?"

Pressing her lips into a thin line, Kelsie raised her eyes to et hers, "Why are you suddenly looking out for ?"

"What?" Amy blinked in surprise.

Kelsie closed the chart and sucked in a deep breath, a thoughtful look in her eyes. "It can’t be because I was your assistant during that surgery, can it?"

Amy’s lips spasd for a mont before she threw her face to the side with a shrug.

"Well, I’ve just co to realize you’re not like the rest of them despite graduating from a reputable university."

"Furthermore, people in the hospital seem to have it out for you. If you haven’t noticed, they have it out for too. So that puts us in the sa situation and undoubtedly should make us allies."

"I see." Kelsie mumd and no longer said anything.

Amy stood around for several seconds before she cleared her throat noisily to get Kelsie’s attention.

"Well, I don’t have any more patients to see today nor do I have any surgery to perform. You seem to be pretty occupied with that chart, why don’t you focus on it while I look after your children?"

Kelsie got on her feet almost imdiately and strolled towards the triplets, whatever discussion they were having gradually died down as she stood beside Jesse’s bed.

"This is my eldest, Jesse, this is my second born, Zade and this is Keira. Children, this is Dr. yer, she works in this hospital too."

The triplets were instantly dumbfounded and did nothing to hide it.

"Yo-your friend? You have a friend?" Zade was the the first to stutter out a question, but Keira nudged him imdiately, butting in with a wide grin.

"What he ans is that we’re happy to et you. Not so, Jesse?"

Jesse quickly boy nodded.

"Our mommy isn’t snobby, she just tends to be nonchalant most of the ti. So bear with her."

Kelsie ntally facepald herself.

These brats.

They were making it so obviously she rarely had friends.

Zade picked up the bowl of apple and stretched it towards Amy with a sweet smile.

"Why don’t you sit and have apple with us, mommy’s friend?"

"Mommy’s frie..I an, yes, of course. Thank you, Keira." Amy was saying, but quickly stopped herself and sat beside them.

Kelsie was suddenly distracted by the buzzing phone in her pocket.

He eyes fell slightly when she took it out and saw it was a saved number.

That jerk, after professing his love to her and doing all those silly things to win her over, he suddenly decided to ghost her just when she was starting to warm up to him?

How irritating.

Walking to where she sat earlier, she answered and pressed the phone against her right ear.

"What is it?"

Asher Rowe’s voice ca up almost imdiately.

"Have you heard anything from Jerry Sutton?"

Her brows creased slightly.

"What? Isn’t the Sutton family going through so major lawsuit with the Adler family?"

Asher clicked his tongue, "That ended a month ago. Like you asked to do, I voted for him to remain as chairman, so he’s still the chairman of Lun Group, but there’s sothing off about him."

Kelsie didn’t have to think too hard to realize what was going on.

"I believe the Adler family’s lawyers must’ve drained him of every penny. They have a reputation for doing that to everyone they take to court."

"With the private loans he took out from banks, private loans and illegal loan sharks, begging to be repaid, he must be wallowing in debt and desperately trying to fill the deep hole in his bank account."

Asher was silent for a mont before Kelsie heard him chuckle.

"I thought the sa, but Laura Sutton bought a Porsche last week. She doesn’t have any money and not a lot of n can buy their girlfriends such an expensive car. So it has to be her father who bought it."

"So I t up with the accountant handling her father’s bank accounts. Kelsie, you won’t believe what I found out."

"Not only does he have no pending debt anywhere, his balance keeps increasing by the day. To sum it up, all three of them are doing way better than before."
