"What’s with all the fuss and commotion!"

The originally annoyed Gu Qixiao, frustrated by work matters, was startled out of his thoughts by Assistant Li’s sudden exclamation.

The proposal he’d just pieced together vanished from his mind in an instant.

In that mont, his calm deanor shifted from cloudy to stormy, and the air inside the car seed to drop a few degrees.

"B-boss..."

Gu Qixiao’s stern reply left Assistant Li at a loss for words, stamring without forming a coherent sentence.

"If there’s sothing to say, just say it quickly."

On the side, Song Xuan watched Gu Qixiao’s angry expression but didn’t feel any fear.

In fact, to her, even an angry Gu Qixiao was breathtakingly handso.

"We’ve found a solution to fix Miss Song’s face. After nearly half a month of investigation, it turns out that Professor Song i from Tsing University dical College—the leading expert on facial reconstruction—is the most authoritative costic surgeon in the country."

"We’ve already established communication with Director Song’s team. She’s currently abroad for interviews and will return in half a month. Her assistant will then contact us."

"Perhaps by then, Miss Song’s face could be restored to its original state."

After delivering the information about Song i, Assistant Li breathed a sigh of relief. Truth be told, it wasn’t just Gu Qixiao who found Song Xuan a headache; after all this ti, even Assistant Li had been driven to his limits by her antics.

The staff mber assigned to observe Song Xuan at the hospital for nearly a month had almost resigned and left.

Imagining that all the drama might finally be resolved in just over half a month, Assistant Li’s expression beca noticeably more relaxed.

However, he failed to notice the mont when Song Xuan, hearing the words "restored to its original state," had her initially excited expression abruptly collapse.

"Who wants to go back to how it was? I only want to look better than that bitch Ji Yu!"

"Only then will Xiao be mine. Otherwise, Xiao will always think I’m not good enough for him!"

Song Xuan’s bitter internal monologue remained unheard by anyone. The mont Gu Qixiao glanced her way, she imdiately threw on a cheerful facade.

"Xiao, this is such great news!"

Gu Qixiao couldn’t tell whether Song Xuan’s joy was because she could restore her appearance or because it would give her renewed permission to cling to him. His expression remained far from pleasant.

Seeing Gu Qixiao’s unchanging expression made Song Xuan clench inside.

"Could it be... Gu Qixiao doesn’t want to help with the surgery anymore?"

"Or is it that bitch Ji Yu has already gotten into his ear?!"

Raging internally, Song Xuan maintained a semblance of composure, feigning a look of pitiful sadness.

Like she’d already been told that Gu Qixiao wouldn’t help her, Song Xuan nearly burst into tears as she spoke up.

"Xiao, you have to help ... I don’t have anyone else left."

Seeing Gu Qixiao still unmoved, Song Xuan squeezed out a few tears and amplified her act.

"I’ve stopped chasing impossible dreams. I just hope I can restore my appearance so I can stand in the sunshine and live a normal life."

"Xiao, please believe , okay? I was immature before. I realize my mistakes now. Really!"

Song Xuan’s incessant pleading beside Gu Qixiao made Assistant Li, seated in the front passenger seat, feel overwheld.

Let alone how much Gu Qixiao’s headache must have intensified by now.

"How is this Song Xuan even noisier than Doctor Ji!"

Previously, Gu Qixiao thought Ji Yu was chatty whenever he t her. Now, his perspective had shifted.

To be frank, Gu Qixiao had hardly been surrounded by won in the past.

Most of his business dealings took place with n present.

For one reason: rumors in Beijing claid that Gu Qixiao disliked won approaching him. No one dared provoke the head of Gus Group, much less touch his deepest sensitivities.

Though he initially resisted speaking, Gu Qixiao had grown too irritated by Song Xuan’s persistent chatter and reluctantly responded.

"Mm."

"Rest assured, Miss Song. We’ll do everything we can to help you."

"Not for any other reason—just for Tingdong’s sake, we’ll make sure of it."

Assistant Li quickly ntioned Song Tingdong before Song Xuan could resu her pity act—a maneuver that caught Song Xuan off guard.

She hadn’t expected Assistant Li to be so quick-witted today.

The air within the car grew awkward. Including the driver, the four occupants remained silent.

Only the sound of Gu Qixiao’s long fingers typing rapidly on his laptop filled the space.

Despite his high-ranking position as CEO of Gus Group, having been in charge for just three or four years, Gu Qixiao still personally handled many tasks.

It was this proactive approach that inspired many competent employees, like Assistant Li, to remain loyal to Gus Group and to Gu Qixiao’s side.

Back in the day, this trust was also what motivated Song Tingdong to give everything he had.

Feeling the mounting awkwardness in the car’s atmosphere, Song Xuan began to scroll through her phone out of frustration.

When she saw increasing amounts of content online regarding Congxin and Ji Yu, the irritation brewing inside her finally subsided.

anwhile, Dion, whose physical health had recovered nearly fully, proceeded with final approval for his treatnt plan after Ji Yu’s examination.

In the eting room, Ji Yu and Zhou Haiyan were in deep discussion about the last details of the plan when an abrupt knock at the door interrupted them. At the sa ti, Zhou Haiyan’s phone, set up facing the silent mode screen, rang with a call from her assistant.

The two exchanged quick glances and paused their discussion to step aside.

Before long, from opposite corners of the eting room, Ji Yu and Zhou Haiyan’s voices echoed simultaneously.

"What did you say?"

News related to Ji Yu and Congxin was rapidly trending across dia platforms, and mounting scandals were swirling in torrents.

Zhou Haiyan’s assistant was relaying the company’s instructions over the phone.

"Sister Yan, the company wants the surgery to be conducted in secret. If any risks arise, Dion has to bear them alone—or we change hospitals to perform the surgery."

A seasoned veteran in actor managent, Zhou Haiyan naturally understood the company’s intention. Yet, after all this ti, she was absolutely certain Doctor Ji was trustworthy.

"Alright, I’ll think about it."

After hanging up and turning back around, Zhou Haiyan caught Ji Yu up on the situation.

Though Ji Yu seed relatively indifferent about the matter herself, she was still mindful of Congxin’s reputation—especially now that Dion’s surgery was imminent...

Realizing that withholding specifics about the lead surgeon might be a solution, Ji Yu began to settle on an idea.

When the two sat back down to finalize the plan, both were privately preoccupied.

As they wrapped up the eting, both spoke at the sa ti.

"Sister Yan..."

"Doctor Ji..."
